how to deal with a certain combination

Advice

Mind blank + greater invisibility. I don't use the combo, but my GM loves the idea, and he's the kind of guy who may have ninja assassins all come to my city and kill all the occupants unless i can easily deal with it

Liberty's Edge

One answer is: Detect Magic. Find the magic of the swords the ninjas are wielding, not the ninjas themselves. (Because, in any kind of a realistic scenario ninjas with access to 8th level spells will have magic weapons / items.) Of course this probably goes against RAI.

Beyond that, areas of anti-magic, traps of dispel magic / greater dispel magic / traps that make sound / alarm spell, etc.

So a dick? Hm. Well then.

Flour on the ground and the Alarm spell.

Send a Koan to the ninja that they can't stop thinking about, and there mind blank won't work.

okay... i'm going to reduce this to just invisible/stealthy foes in my town because i'm going to talk to him about it and say that's not a tool for gms to use because that one soldier would be used as a lauching platform for a new sort of nuclear warfare where to protect yourself you have to be in an isolated pocket dimension that is also masked from any sort of detection

EDIT: also i'm going to talk to him about things that are unfair to him to use as a GM. also as a player, but i don't mind his character having power in a high power game. makes it more fun for him to play

Greater Invi only lasts for a few minutes, so your city should be save.

Mind Blank is an 8th Level spell. Using it to kill normal townsfolk is a sure sign of cheese going on. I would point that out and if it continues I would leave the game.

Besides I have banned Mind Blank from the game. It is a no brainer spell, a spell that each and every caster should cast once per day because +8 on Will saves is simply too much.

And, to follow up with the obvious: Then glitterdust or faerie fire to seal the deal.

Why not just use a Lantern of Revealing and/or its base spell Invisibility Purge?

Mind blank won't protect him from an evocation spell.
