Rulebook Revision on Amazon

Product Discussion

Does anyone happen to know if the core rulebook that Amazon carries is the latest edition? I've got this fear that it's a previous edition and I'll have to use the PDF revisions. Thanks in advance!

The site does not say. I would call or email them to try to find out.

I have e-mailed them and the support agent said they were not able to determine what edition it is. I'm hoping someone recently purchased it from Amazon and could share the result.

I'm admittedly somewhat clueless about things like this, but I wouldnt think that would even help really. Doesnt amazon have several different warehouses? If so, it's entirely likely that they have several different printings in stock.

I just bought one from Amazon last week and ended up with fourth printing. Bummer.

There's a chance, though, that their inventory is a mixture of different printings.

I bought one a few weeks ago and it was fourth printing

Paizo has answered this several times before: THe only way to make sure that you get the latest printing is to buy directly from Paizo. Buying from a giant retailer like Amazon, who knows what warehouse they'll pull your copy from, or how long it's been sitting there? Not you, not me, and definately not Amazon.

I just received mine from Amazon on Friday, and it was 5th edition.

I am fairly confident that a big boxer like amazon probalby has a mix of printings in their stock. I doubt there is any way to guarantee you will get the latest printing from them.

Corrected for you; this may seem like nitpicking, but it is important to note that there's a big difference between 'edition' and 'printing'.

Yeah some people start wars about this kind of stuff. Oh wouldn't it be wonderful all the rage, bloodlust and fire that would come from a "pathfinder 5th Edition" threat. ^^

Sorry, yes, I know the difference between edition and printing. This is just what happens when I read and post from work, when I'm supposed to be working.

I feel you pain ^^

Here's a little follow-up question then:

If we purchase the PDF version, do we get free access to download the latest printing of a book in the PDF format? I have already purchased the PDF of the core rulebook but when the 6th printing comes out, do I have to rely on the errata or will I be able to just redownload the 6th printing from my downloads?

You always get access to the latest version of the PDF file.

I have purchased 3 core books from Barnes & Noble website recently and they are all 5th Printing. They have good prices too, and fast free shipping as well. Plus I had a coupon (loves me some coupons)!
