Haha, yeah, I didn't think it would necessarily be an easy or good thing either.
When you have an active person on the board who almost got in (or did) 4 years running though, I think it's possible. Something like Goblin Skull Bomb shows the kind of flavor that I think could be pinned to a specific person, given enough exposure to them.

I can remember the flavor of the Goblin Skull Bomb. In fact I try to emulate that sort of thing in my item, but that is a long way from style. As for regulars on the board, I think I could only identify Neil by style*
*by style I mean brevity :)

The one-minute response time is definitely a signature element of my style. There are more wondrous items responded to within one minute of their posting than you'd think. ;-)
As for the spoiler-thing, if it's from me, you always know it's either a wall-of-text or explosive runes.
I'm sure that was at least one Neil post that was a wall of text AND explosive runes :P

You know, I don't think anyone would object to an early reveal... :)
I imagine Ross and everyone else that has to set 'the reveal' up behind the scenes (and is planning on having all next weekend to do just that) probably would. :-)
And speaking solely for myself in Guest Judge (yes, I gave myself uppercase letter titles) capacity, I can't say that I'd mind having a full week (give or take) to go through & give my commentary, rather than having to cram it all into a weekend's time.
So, go Real Judges! (Because you guys really do earn the capitalization...) I heartily endorse the notion of an early finish to your decision making.

Ah, for some reason I thought that only applied to contest deadlines. Thanks for the clarification.

No, we won't be releasing anything early.
Congratulations to you, Neil, Sean & Ryan on once again completing a difficult task.
Round of applause for the judges, ladies & gentlemen!
When do you get to look at the items?

Heh. Have to admit, as soon as Clark posted his comment above the very first thing I did was run check my email, to see if Jerall, Sam and I had been granted access to the hallowed halls of judgement yet. (Not yet; I assume there is still tidying being done.) THEN I congratulated the judges.
It's interesting; I'm nearly as eager to see the entries this year as I was the last two years, when I actually had a theoretical stake in the contest. I suppose it's nice to know my love of RPG Superstar is not just completely self serving. ;-)

Are names attached to entries when the guest judges get them for commenting, or do they remain anonymous until they're officially unveiled?
They remain anonymous all the way through. We're pretty much as excited as anyone else to see the names behind the items when the Top 32 get announced.

...I assume there is still tidying being done.
That's correct. We're just cleaning up our commentary a bit. Though, half the judges are already finished with that task, as well. It goes to Gary and Ross after that so they can shift the forums around and grant the guest judges access. Regardless, should be in the next day or so, I'd think...depending on whether Seattle survives their blizzard tomorrow.

Of course we could always try this.

Its not tied to the date so to speak, but the specific day and time (2pm) in the Pacific US Timezone. So all the Aussies and others have to wake up in the middle of the night or wee hours to see it with the rest of us. :P
9:00am in the morning actually. I'm thinking I'll get into work about 8:30am, make a tea or coffee while keeping an eye on the emails. Then about 9:05am my head will slump just slightly as no Paizo email will have been received; and then I'll try and access the site to see who made it in and which items I like best. If on the other hand I do receive an email, I dare say I'll make quite the fool of myself. Best of luck everyone, not long now. :)
Best Regards
Herremann the Wise
