Zen Archer Ki Pool Question

Okay so I know a basic monk could spend a ki point at level 4 to treat his arrow as magical to bypass DR and at 10 treat it as lawful for DR purposes, etc so do the same rules apply to the Zen Archer or are those non-applicable until level 17 when the get Ki Focus Bow????

A normal monk can have his unarmed strike bypass certain DR, if he has a ki point in his pool (you dont need to actually spend one for this ability)
Zen archer can't apply these effects until 17th like you asked.
Unfortunately.

Other types of monks can use the ability on other types of weapons if it they have the Ki Focus enhancement, but it is melee-only.

Ahh well then I guess I'll just have to invest in magical and adamantine arrows should the need ever arise

Hmm so that is a 8000GP investment yes?? Crafting still confuses me occasionally but a +1 Ki Focus Compound Bow is technically a +2 bow when it comes to the cost to craft it??

Ki Focus can only be placed on a melee weapon.

Houserule it then...my co-DM does like to complain it takes too long for combat at times so he may not mind too bad

50 +1 Arrows costs 2,302.5 gp.

If you buy a magic bow, everything it fires will bypass DR/magic. Then just buy non-magical arrows.

20 Cold Iron Arrows: 2 gp
20 Alchemical Silver Arrows: 41 gp
20 Adamantine Arrows: 1,201 gp

As an added bonus, since they're not masterwork, when you miss you have a 50% chance of recovering the arrow.

When you run into things with alignment issues, an Oil of Align Weapon is 300 gp. (Or make friends with the cleric/paladin)
