Since my local crew plays after I get off work, we are typically hungry for an actual meal before we get down to playing. Typically we go out for sushi after which it's back to my place where coffee, hard cider, and mixed drinks are the standard refreshments.
When we do actually snack, it's usually chips & dip, Skittles, pretzels, cinnamon buns, and ice cream sandwiches. Mostly though we just stick to the sushi, alcohol, and coffee formula.
Again, it varies. Our games run through dinner time, so I usually bring something to cook for my partner and myself, unless there's easy leftovers to be had from a past meal.
For snacks: Once upon a time, it used to be Surge and Ranch Munch'ems. The combination was like my personal heroin. And, of course, they've both been discontinued. Then it was Vault Zero and Quattro Formaggio Triscuits. And, of course, they discontinued Vault. I can still have the Triscuits, but now they call them "Four Cheese," because apparently "Quattro Formaggio" is just too fancy for us 'Mericans.
I change it up from time to time, but the Triscuits are my favorites. Just go with Coke Zero now...
Edamame, toasted pita bread with cucumber-dill greek yogurt dip, pickles, home-made tossed spinach and onion salad, and tea (preferably jasmine-flower). I stick out at a table where most people hit fast food on their way into town or order pizza and/or sandwhiches upon arrival.
In the epic Saturday-encompassing sessions I used to have with my friends, we would usually start out at lunch time with a bucket of fried chicken, a case of generic cola and some chips. By dinner time we were ready to take break and we would go get some Burritos or Falafel/Gyros. Then we would play until like 2 in the morning with the occasional freshly baked delicacy.
Ah, the good old days...
Long ago, it used to be whatever we could scrounge together- KFC, a bag of chips, a bottle of soda, maybe a pizza. After a while(read: once we all graduated high school and got jobs), it turned into regular pizza and chinese food. It stayed that way for a very long time(my long lost Thursday Night Group had a regular order on call every week at the chinese food place down the street). Now that we're all a little older (30's), cooking has taken over for the most part. My wife makes semi-Georgian cheese bread, I make lemon squares, one of my players brings in the occasional fiendish cinnamon butter pony...basically whatever anyone has the time or motivation to make. I've also moved away from chips(for the most part- tortilla chips and salsa are a hard thing to give up!), and now I get peanuts roasted in the shell, almonds, and an assortment of dried fruits, especially pineapples and papaya(I am addicted to the latter). Our tastes haven't changed over the years as much as they have matured- as dictated by our wallets, that is.
When I first started playing our host and DM would heat up some form of freezer pizza, though I always had to bring my own food (usually some kind of sandwich I'd throw together before going) because it would be sausage or pepperoni and I'm a vegetarian.
In my current group we just order a couple pizzas from a nearby place, they keep it plain so I can partake. XP
Still, Ringtail's snacking routine sounds awesome. Except for the jasmine tea. I love tea, just not jasmine tea.
I've been the DM of all of my groups for the last several years, and the games have always been at my place, so typically the players have volunteered to bring snacks & such themselves- and that's usually resulted in various kinds of soda & chips/pretzels. (I've even told my players that if they ever want immunity to fiery death and falling rocks, to bring me Faygo Cola. The Michigander in me just can't get enough of it.)
It hasn't come up yet (since, as I mentioned, the players have always volunteered to bring whatever they want), but my workplace has a deal set up with a local Papa John's that gives any of our employees half off any order, so if anyone wanted pizza we'd go for that, but like I said, it honestly hasn't come up in the past year.
Nothing beats wiping humus with pitah and drinking red wine. It's so obscenely miscegenatic.
It's varied a lot over the years. From the college cafeteria before and after game sessions, to ordering pizzas or making runs to the snack mart for fried chicken and tater logs, to home baked goods, you name it.
When I had my own place it was usually pizza runs (Little Caesar's $5 dollar larges can't be beat), though often the guys would stop on the way and pick up their own meals from the various fast food places.
Now we played at an FLGS, so folks either bring their own (chips, sandwiches, etc. We buy drinks there; kinda their rule). There's a McD's and a Wendy's at the edge of the shopping center where the store is, and sometimes we walk down and order something during a game break. The Wendy's is about to lose our business, though, as they are mouth-frothing incompetents who can't even get a soda order right. Sometimes folks bring big bags of chips or fresh grapes and such for community snacking, too.
Some of the guys meet early at a Thai place near the shop, too. So there's no hard and fast favorite for anyone, I think. My personal fave will always be pizza, though. It just seems like RPG's and pizza belong together.
Pretty much Beer. For years I had beer and hushpuppies as DM brain food; 30 or so years ago when I started playing pizza was a favorite; usually Dominos; but back then there werent very many pizza joints that delivered.
When your a player, which I often am not, you can pretty much eat anything; some Teryaki bowl was a favorite among the players I knew as well as chips and things.
As a GM; I am always playing this that or the other monster or gm which requires the ability to speak without blowing food; as well as getting player actions; writing notes and such; DM'ing is buzy work so a drink or a small food you can pretty much pop in your mouth and swallow fast is best; anything you have to hold is out unless everyone agrees to stop the game. It was much more popular not eat much but after the game everyone go out to a 24 hours joint as a group and chat about the game which was always one of my favorite parts of gaming.
Mountain Dew is required, though we now drink Diet Mtn. Dew in deference to dietary concerns :) For food, pizza is always good, as is Italian, but we often play at the home of a culinary genius or two, so all sorts of foods have come up, from coffee to fritata to sweet potatoes. In the end, as long as there's food and drink, the rest is in the details, which are not to be sweated :)

My current RL gaming group meets at my house. The food and drink vary from week to week.
I myself drink either Diet Mountain Dew (if I need to pep-up), or Port (the wine; if I want to relax). No, I don't mix them. Blegh.
The rest of the group drink regular Mountain Dew, or partake of the Port, as well.
Favorite snacks include:
Hummus (usually garlic or red pepper) with pita chips or Wheat Thins.
Slices of Smoked Gouda or Jarlsberg; or soft goat-cheese with crackers.
Hush Puppies.
Steamed pork dumplings and crab rangoons.
Sliced italian bread, dipped in a mixture of olive oil, red vinegar, oregano, and grated parmesean.

That gets difficult when you are playing 6 or 7 hour (or longer) sessions.
I will often bring something in my crock pot to games. We usually play 6+hours one sunday a month. Popular in the past has been white chicken chilli and roast. I found a great BBQ chicken recepie that I'm going to bring next game I think. It cooks for about 8 hours, so it just falls apart and acts like pulled BBQ. It was good whenI made it at home.
Seeing as I am still in high school, pizza and Dr Pepper is the typical fare on the occasions we can get together in-person - lazy teenagers means that most of our games are via Infrno.

On our weekend games (and some of our weekday games as well) we start out by one of the players bringing us Nando's Peri Peri Chicken. Sadly we are all spice wusses so the hottest we get is Medium.
For table fare it's usually Dried Bacon, Strawberries, Carrots and Hommous etc. with Imported Mountain Dew when I can get it.

One game, I usually grab a foot long spicy italian sammich from subway with lettuce, tomatos, pickles, onions, black olives and vinegar. Yum! That serves as both lunch and dinner, then. Sunday games are more varried. Sometimes it's fend for yourself (I'll often get subway again then), sometimes I bring food (crock pot fare - pulled pork bbq, chicken, chili, random recipes I find) and this last week we grilled and had baked potatos and salad and cake! Sunday tends to have diet and non-diet soda, maybe some beer or alcohol, and some variety of chips. Cool ranch doritos and hot wings flavored potato chips seem to be regular favorites lately.

I combine cooking with the session. For example, tonight, the group will feast on slow cooked, marinated BBQ on potato rolls along with drop sugar cookies, baked salmon with fresh Bearnaise sauce, and basil and rosemary baked beef hotdish.
We have a variety of dips and dipping implements as well.
The group reacts well to a combination of very tasty and traditional gamer fare, e.g., snack foods.

At the FLGS I used to frequent in my younger days, the Domino's nearby would send over a guy twice on Saturdays with medium one toppers for 4 bucks each. Cheese, pepperoni or beef. He'd come with a carload, and leave empty, almost every time.

I remember Pepsi Clear. Thought it was pretty good, too. What about Pepsi Blue? My best friend used to be the program director at a fairly major radio station in the area, and they were always giving away things at remotes or what not. But Pepsi Blue was such a flop they couldn't give it away. My son, who was about 9 at the time, received as a "gift" 3 cases of 20 oz. bottles. He is now 18, and has proudly saved the last bottle in the fridge, swearing it's the last one on earth and he'll pass it along to his kids...lol

We have 8 hour games every other Saturday starting at 2PM and play to 10ish
The menu changes with every game and it is something I normally decide with suggestions from the group. Why me? I cook the food and have everyone bring the stuff to make the food.
The food can be anything from BBQ Cheeseburgers, Sloppy Joe's, Order out pizza, Taco's, chili, baked chicken, home made chicken noodle soup (Only if we do baked chicken the last session) and rarely we even do a fend for yourself where we take 1 hour to go fetch what each person likes. Usually Quizno's or BBQ or Subway.
So it changes and it's always a hit and scarfed up and left overs taken.
On an occasion one of our guys brings a fruit tray which is good, or chips that we share as snacks

Back in the early 90's, I was working at a pizza restaurant that had a semi-private "banquet room". The owner let us use this room on Sundays (as it was pretty dead on Sundays). So we ate a lot of pizza and bread stix, and drank a lot of coffee and soda...
And like I said in another thread, now we eat whatever my wife is preparing for dinner that night...
As for what I'll drink, mostly I'll have a tall glass of iced tea or lemonade (and when I'm feeling particularly adventurous, I'll combine the two for an Arnold Palmer). Sometimes I'll have something alcoholic however...
