So the Rogue talent to gain a Ki pool says it's the same as a ninja's ki pool except for giving additional attacks. But then it specifies you get +10 movement for a turn by spending 1 ki point, when a ninja gets +20 movement.
The language makes it sound like that +10 movement is all you get. I would assume that it gives you the insight to stealth and the increase to acrobatics, but before I go declaring that I wanted to know if there was some insight somewhere into how a Rogue's Ki=pool works. Is there an official write-up on how ki pool works for rogues and how they work?

Yeah, seems like that's all you get for movement. But you should also get the bonus to stealth and acrobatics as well.

Unless you're dead-set on acquiring Advanced Talents as fast as possible, there's almost no reason whatsoever to not multiclass in two (or more) levels of ninja and pick up unnerfed Ki for free. R4/N2 or R2/N4 grants four tricks and Uncanny Dodge by 6th, while R3/N3 grants SA+4d6 and maximizes saves at that level. Having access to a wider variety of weapons (*cough* wakizashi *cough* shuriken *cough*) doesn't hurt either.

I am pretty sure that you can't have levels of both a class and it's alternative class.

You've hit on one of my pet ninja peeves.
The only thing the rogue can do better than the ninja is trapfinding and disarming magical traps. And if you spend a talent to pick up trapsense, you're pretty much even (assuming your party spelltossers just dispell magical traps)
I've been researching the arcane pool from the magus and seeing if a BAB/Arcane spell prereq feat to allow another class to gain an arcane pool would be balanced, (for Vanguards/Duskblades/Damascarans/Eldrich Knights) but one thing I am pretty sure is a 'poor man's spell pool' like the rogue gets a ki pool isn't worth it.
