Wait, what do you mean by conversation during downtime, coz... yeah, if I'm rolling up a working girl, even a smart one, there's gotta be, you know, *cough* working time.

*laughs*

This will be the fourth prostitute I've made since I've started playing pathfinder 2 years ago. I think I'm pretty good at playin' em by now.

HAHAHA GM Aria if u want to make that your trade, u are more than willing to. Just as a 'favor' to me don't go too much into it or do it too frequently. I know u as a player are amazing at storytelling and character building. but in this world, abcess sex or drug use draws the attention of Slaanesh the Dark Prince, and u DEF don't want him watching u for his own amusement. u might wake up w... idk a third breast or something else sex related. >.> not me saying it as a GM punishment, it's what Slaanesh does to people who indulge in personal pleasures too much.

Just wondering...am I in this game or not?

Ahahaha. Nooo. Not my desire to turn your game into an Anita Blake book. Just, you know, girl's gotta work to eat. It's not going to be disruptive, it'll just be her wandering off one, maybe two nights a week to earn her daily bread.

Sorry Scranford, I'll be quiet now and go download and start reading the book.

scranford wrote:

Yes Scranford u are no worries :). u are free to roll stats for your chosen character as well as focus on everything about them :) To all, like Mark, Deiros, Aria and Scranford, i appreciate active posters and while all of your submissions are amazing, i will most likely only end up taking people i know will be submitting at least 2 times per day.

Also my only sad point in this is that I dont get to roll and play a character :'( but NOOOO worries anyone HAHAHA XD i am in a RL Kingmaker group w the DM using a GMPC two-handed ranger that pretty much kilsl everything and makes the game seem stupid and leaves my badass cavalier with nothing to do. so unless u all WANT me to run a character, I will not be adding a GMPC to this campaign, despite the help u may need. no worries tho, w 6 players, u SHOULDNT run such a huge chance of dying >.> <.< MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD KILL THEM ALL!!! ahem sorry something caught in my throat...where'd everybody go? lolz

Tzeentch the Changer of Ways wrote:
Also i am kinda surprised no one has mentioned the Half-Elf created race. it's very simple, requires a bit of backstory, but in my mind its a fair combination of the two races :) anyone interested hit me up for details.

Changer of Ways:
OK, here's the rough-draft origin for my Half-Elf. I can make changes as you see fit for the campaign setting. Let me know if something doesn't make sense like the different surnames for the elves in my backstory.

Instead of mercenary I'm now looking to take Kithband Warrior as a career but am willing to settle for Hunter.

Backstory:
Kyserion Bluefeather never knew his father nor mother. He was the result of an ill-fated relationship between an Elven woman and human man.

The daughter of a High Elf emissary from Ulthuan, Indiritt Kindflower lived in Marienburg for much of her life and traveled extensively within the Empire. Her father, Banishrin Hawkstar, dealt directly with many of Marienburg's largest trading houses to appropriate goods and supplies for his distant island home. Banishrin established especially close ties to House Jutzenbach which gave important supplies for the defense of Ulthuan.

As part of an attempt to disrupt this trade Dark Elves kidnapped Indiritt as well as House Jutzenbach's heir, the Merchant Prince Luitpold Jutzenbach. The two were held captive in the wilds east of Wildenhoven for a week, suffering torture and deprivation but the pair managed to escape when fortuitously Beastmen attacked the Dark Elves encampment. Their captors pursued but thanks to Indiritt's skill in the forest as well as Luitpold's martial abilities made their way to River Kristall in hopes of floating downriver to safety. As Indiritt got onto their makeshift raft the Dark Elves caught up with them. Luitpold pushed the raft into the river and purchased her safety with his life. Indiritt made her way back to Marienburg only to discover that through Dark Elf treachery, blame for the kidnapping was unjustly placed upon Banishrin who now hung dead from the gibbet.

Indiritt's attempts to clear her father's name were in vain, especially after Luitpold's dead body came floating down the Kristall. In fact she began to suspect that her escape may have been part of the Dark Elves' plot. Before she could also be tried as a foreign agent, Indiritt fled the city and made her way to Ulthuan. There she was rejected as a failure since Marienburg was closed (albeit temporarily) as a port of trade for the High Elves. Moreover it was discovered that she was with child and that the father was Luitpold Jutzenbach. Indiritt and the Merchant Prince had fallen in love during their captivity and escape. Disgraced and banished, Indiritt found refuge in Laurelorn Forest. There she died during delivery as Kyserion was born.

Kyserion Bluefeather grew up amongst the Laurelorn Elves. Although considered one of their tribe in name and trained as a Kithband Warrior, he nonetheless found that his kinship did not run deep; his human blood kept him from true fellowship. He desired to travel and once of age he left for Middenheim were he hired himself out to protect merchant caravans. Kyserion has never stayed with the same job for more than a year--his wanderlust a result of his rootless existence.

For my first victim, er, character I want to play an Initiate. Which deity to you recommend him serve? I was thinking Sigmar, Myrmidia, or Taal. Which suits the campaign setting best or does it not really matter?

Eradico:
THANK u Eradico, i was worried when I saw the Kithband but hunter works great and great backstory :) the only part where i would not allow u to make a Kithband as a half-elf is because in my mind, Elves are rather...strict with sharing their customs, and half-breeds in any series, ESPECIALLY the Old World, are NOT looked upon with any positivity. Thus, Kithband is akin to Athel Loren archer, and those talents, traits and lifestyle only are available to elves born and bred there. :) Hunter again works great.

also to clarify for half-elf character generation, u choose either the 30 base stat to either Ballistics or Agility, one talent from elves list, one skill (reformed it because makes more sense) and one human talent to be rolled before game starts :)

Also, if u would play an Intiate of Sigmar or Taal...U would fit perfectly. I LOVE Sigmar as a warrior god, and if i could, id wanna play the fantasyrealm equivalent of a Space Marine from 40K. Welcome brother Eradico! For Sigmar, For the Emperor!

Fellowship 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (8, 8) + 20 = 36

Secondary

Wounds 1d10 ⇒ 8 = 12
Fate Points 1d10 ⇒ 2 = 2

Allright, given all that... I think I made a pretty crafty camp follower, if I do say so myself. What should I spend those mercy points on, if anything?

GM Aria:

U may subsitute two of your below 30 rolls for 20+11 as a boon from Shaylla the goddess of Mercy and Sigmar, god of the Empire, who you are a citizen of. :) so u get to replace two not so good stats as 31's :) this is not favoritism, since everyone will get this opportunity, except Deiros whose stats are rly rly good and he doesn't exactly NEED to be great at everything. no human is.

Changer of the Ways:

Ballistics in this setting means bows, right?

I'll take the mercy for a 31 in toughness and ballistics to defend myself at ranged. Not gonna ruin perfectly awesome fellowship by getting mahself all scared up like a pit fighter :P

Hello everyone well my brother has asked me to cohost/gm this game with you so a little backstory with Warhammer if someone doesn't already know

the chaos gods frequently lay out plans for the mortals and ways to boost their own power, well the other gods don't like that so usually another cult or somesuch will show up and unintentionally help the party So I might step in everyone once in a while as a random npc or some such in the game just letting you all know this is the chaos factor in effect

So wanted to introduce myself and looking over this should be a lot of fun haha

Very good GM Aria, please submit a temporary name each of u so i can follow your character creation on Paizo :) also if each of u would post as ur alias for WFRP it would really help me identify w each of ur created characters :)

Good lord, there's a table for everything!!

Last one as a GM, I promise:

Height 1d10 + 61 ⇒ (7) + 61 = 68 = 5'8"
Weight 1d100 ⇒ 68 = 160 lbs
Hair Color 1d10 ⇒ 6 = Light Brown
Eye Color 1d10 ⇒ 9 = Purple
Distinguishing Mark 1d100 ⇒ 77 = Missing nail
Number of siblings 1d10 ⇒ 7 = 3
Star Sign 1d100 ⇒ 40 = Grungri's Baldric - Martial pursuits
Age in years 1d100 ⇒ 69 = 29
Human birthplace (planet) 1d10 ⇒ 5 = Ostermark
Human birthplace (urban qualifier) 1d10 ⇒ 4 = Fortified town
Human Names 1d100 ⇒ 56 = Klara

Claire? Your name is Claire?...

^^ thank u for all of ur in depth rolls GM Aria, but u may also choose certain aspects such as name because that rly is up to u. Weight, height and such are also personable things, but i do appreciate random rolls because no one really gets the character they really want all the time. we aren't all dashing Adonises with blond hair, blue eyes and awesome physique. ppl like that...are often termed as Chaos worshippers for looking TOO perfect in such a grim world. or theyre nobles. sometimes almost 1/10th as bad LOLZ

ALSO for distiungishing marks, players can opt NOT to have them, as, from personal opinoun, its hard to feel cool with a fat wart on ur nose or etc but if u all want to roll w those im fine w them. also for like Troll SLayers? tattoos and scars are required, as are a random roll, because they are UGLY mothers. anyways :) character creation goes on, and thank u very much "Klara" ^^

Also, for everyone, some alterations allowed for gear but nothing major. Everyone will start game with 1d10 gold, basic equipment, clothes, a cloak w hood, and a hand weapon of their choosing. people wishing for a more player intensive campaign may opt to begin with only a dagger instead. also there are special allowances for certain careers or faiths.

EX. The initiate of Myrmidia may begin play with a spear instead of a handweapon.

Changer of Ways:
Hunter is just fine. It actually adds to the backstory: denied service as an elite archer, Kyserion chose to leave Laurelorn Forest. Hunter also allows access to Scout which is where I see the Half-Elf headed.

Haha... Initiate of Sigmar indeed! For the Emperor! Consider it done!

I will post rolls/stats tomorrow.

Dark Archive

Quick question do I get shallaya's blessing for all rolls under 30? or just 1 roll?

1d100 ⇒ 89

Well i am running it that u receieve two of the blessings, one fromm Shallya and one from Sigmar, the patron god of the Empire. :)

Deiros:
ok so what is your question for the start of this campaign? what would Brenog most like to know or most likely already know about this Bloody Vale? btw ur incorporation to be sent there will be explained once talents have been rolled and the game is ready to get underway :)

Still got space? I'm a big fan of going completely random in WFRP and roleplaying what I roll up.

Thinking I'll start with the Barber / Surgeon if that's cool. Probably be tonight before I can make my character though. Busy day today, before a trip out of the country tomorrow. Should have internet in the evenings this week however. Note that I said "Should". PR isn't quite as reliable as Hotels in the US.

Will flesh out Wolfgang the Noble tomorrow (gmt+8). Been busy with work all day.

All right sounds good Scranford :) look forwards to seing what our barber-surgeon turns like. sounds awesome Ryuk can't wait to see what he is like.

ALso Paizo Fan, plenty of room, recruitment doesnt end till friday, taking a full load of 6 players. go ahead and roll up something for me, just please obey the rules ive put forth for creation :) again, two humans at least out of 3, no exotic backgrounds/careers without plenty of due explaining why a Norse Berserker is here in the Empire or etc :) look forwards to seeing what ya get :)

No problem. I might just pre-select Human to avoid possible race complications.

Spoiler:

Brenog would like to know the generals of the Bloody Vale, what part of the Old World is it? What kind of people inhabit the area and religion.

Will finish creating today my paizo character alias and all. Will wait for the rest of the dice rolls

ah.....
Was thinking of trying a noble/student heading into something thief like but I do not have access to the books so that poses a bit of a problem.

Still willing to handhold a noob? Or is there no more room at the inn?

Course theres always room for more able bodies *cough* I mean players and yes no problem about the noob thing we would explain it (i hope) heck everyone starts somewhere

Slaanesh Lord Pain & Pleasure wrote:

Cool I am happy about the open attitude. We are to propose 3 rough ideas?

1.I understand student is a valid starting carreer? If so I would like to present Marius Fairfax He hopes to continue his studiesbecoming either a theologian or a lawrer. He is also quite interested in natural philosophy and alchemy though he has had little training is either at this point. Demogogue/activist is also an option. It is a time when fortunes, lives, and nations can turn on a well phrased pamphlet.

2.Reginald Blatt, laborer <I understand this is also a viable start?>. Blatt is strong but not stupid. I see him moving either into a more fighterly role or into a gunner/architect/mason carreer. Politics is also an option as labor guilds/proto-unions were causing an uproar in the RW over the time WHFR seems to cover.

Hmm looks like 1 and 2 are urban and at least semi political. I'll change up the third.

3. Torsten the Boatman. Current profession, either boatman or carriage driver. If there are transportation related carreers Torsten will head in that direction. Outrider/Highwayman/sailior/navigator anything like that. He is called the Boatman because he was a boatman before having to take a more landbased job after being bought out/squeezed out/sinking.

Do any of these appeal?

Okay, so far as I understand it, you start off with a base career as like a level 0, right? And when you level, you take one of the advanced careers?

Assuming you survive...

hermmm..

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

As much as i want to play, I'm not going to have time to make a character before this coming weekend :-(. Don't hold up for me. I'll go ahead and make him, keep an eye on the game thread, and be ready to jump in should someone falter.

alright how you level is a long complicated processs haha

You start with a career at level 1 then if you select an adavnced career there is a list of requirements to meet. You must have every skill listed in the advanced carrer as well as every feat and all of your abilities must be filled as in if your base career has a +5% on WS and +20% BS you must level 5 times to fill all of those up then when you have every skill and feat you can go into an advanced career

also you have to have every trapping/gear as well

questions?

If I say "yes" now can I change my answer later?

*laughs*

I think I get it. I was reading over the skill thing and saw that it costs 100 xp to learn a new skill, so I assume that instead of leveling in a class as in PF/D&D you level in... trades? So... Is like... errr, hesitate to make this analogy, but something like Dragon Age where what emphasis you place on your training effects what manner of character you have?

I can probably dig it after a while. But, yeah, n00b.

Still thumbin' through the book at stuff, being a bit overwhelmed. Have yet to master the DF stuff, either. Heh.

Klara - look at it this way:

Step 1 - Master Current Career

Before you can switch out, you need to fill out the 'Advance Scheme' for the current career. For 'Camp Follower' that has T +5%, Ag +10%, Int +5%, WP +5%, Fel +10% and W +2. You get one free advance at the start, leaving you with 8 total advances to buy to fill out your current scheme. Each 'advance' costs 100xp to take.

Since you start with the skills and talents from your first career, you don't need to worry about those.

Step 2 - Change Career

The career you can 'exit' into easily is dependent on your starting career. In your case you could exit into Charcoal-Burner, Charlatan, Servant, Smuggler, Spy, Tradesman or Vagabond. (for sake of example, lets assume you chose Charcoal-Burner)

Before you can enter a career you need to collect all the items listed under 'Trappings'. (so for Charcoal Burner you would need 3 x Torches, Tinderbox and a Hatchet). Changing career costs 100xp in and of itself.

When you enter the new career you change your 'Advance Scheme' to suit if the new career improves any of the figures. (for Charcoal Burner, you would add WS +5%, S +5%. The other figures stay the same as Camp Follower had same or better).

Step 3 - Master New Career

For each career after the first - you need to buy any of the skills / talents in the career at their cost. If you re-buy a skill you already have you instead get 'better' at it - with a +10% skill mastery.

You have to then fill out the 'Advance Scheme' of the new career as well as buying all the skills and talents before you can jump to a new one.

Make rough sense?

Aaah, I sort of get it, but until I actually work with the numbers, I won't really have it down. I learn by doing.

Luckily I'm a fairly quick study, and I think my roleplay is peachy keen, so I hope to make up for any cruddy mistakes I may make with the numbers to start.

Hey mark, or anyone with the book really, what is the advancement track and what are the exits for 'Student'?

muchos gracious mark explained much more in detail then i could at same time watching psych and studying accounting

Student:
Advance Scheme: Ag +10%, Int +10%, WP +5%, Fel +10%, W +2

Career Exits: Agitator, Apprentice Wizard, Barber-Surgeon, Engineer, Envoy (Elf Only), Initiate, Physician, Scholar

All right your benevolent Changer of Ways has returned from the complexes of the Warp and is ready to answer more questions. Also in my game play u must completely level out all primary and secondary ability bonuses as well as attain all new skills, talents and trappings required for the new career u have in mind. also it is 200 exp to switch to a basic career not available to u, and u will need a good reason. had a merc b4 who wanted to switch to magician just so he could cast spells and do huge damage, that was literally his answer.

i said no to him then, and i refuse to any such requests now. altho if ur character requires the switching to a new basic career and the reasoning is acceptable in my standards it is allowed :)

Also Wandering ONe? I love all the ideas :) and I apologize Scranford ull be the first to know of any openings or if i need MORE players to join in. a warning tho, jumping in will start anyone w 0 xp.

But to everyone, do not worry. My leveling scheme is pretty lenient, and exp comes in Battle, Roleplay, Character, and Group categories. FOr battle, easy, u kill things and as a party grow stronger. For roleplay u learn to avoid fights u dont need, interact w my npcs and your environment. for character, u play UR character convincingly and not try to be the ultimate badass all the time and disrespecting everyone around u. and finally as Group, learning to fight back to back with and respect your fellow adventurers :) i dont want everyone to be "your my bestest friend" i want u to all learn, as pcs, to trust those you work with.

Changer of Ways

Just for the sake of clarity, I'll do this by specific example.

I start as a Peasant, and take my free advance to Toughness. That leaves me with 8 total advances to take to fill out my Advance Scheme (1 ea for WS, BS, S, T, Ag and WP and 2 ea for W) - or 800xp worth.

Thinking that some more Martial capability would be useful, I aim to take my next career as a Militiaman, and collect the trappings (Halberd, Light Armor, Uniform).

Under standard rules I can enter the New Career straight away. Entering the career gives you nothing initially, though allows you to then start spending XP to fill out the Advance Scheme and learn the Skills and Talents listed under the Career. I would not be able to exit the Militiaman career until I have taken all of the skills and talents, as well as filled out the Advance Scheme

Are you proposing that instead I have to stay a Peasant until I have spent XP to learn all the skills and talents of a Militiaman - before I switch to the career?

Thats how it was explained to us that you must have the skills and talents to go into the career to have access to the new advanced schemes and more advanced talents and so forth..... we will consult on the morrow and clarify is that ok Mark?

Though....now things make a little more sense your system makes more sense will go over rulebook thoroughly

At Mark

Essentially Yes. It is a long and involved process to change your career, although, yes, Slaanesh and I will consult on the process to review and possible revise. FOr Advanced Careers however, i will enforce these rules strictly. And again, there are many many ways to earn xp under my game mastering, as long as u do not attempt to dominate every conversation etc. everyone has their two cents to put forth and i strongly encourage party plotting and planning where applicable. The foes u will face in the Bloody Vale are, to say it mildly, extremely fierce, and without proper preparation they will literally hack u to pieces.

Essentialy however, u will find the leveling scheme rather easy in these campaigns, u guys deserve and NEED it to confront the foes u will be facing.

Perhaps it is more fair to leave the profile advancement in stats up to the player, but all talents, skills and trappings will be needed to change into the new class. perhaps taking a level or two in talents/skills and then one in advancing will be best for some as the levels and monsters slain progress :) thoughts?

Tzeentch and Slaanesh - It's my understanding under the standard rules, you cannot actually take any skills or talents that you don't have access to via a career.

So until you actually change to your second career, you can only improve your Advance Scheme.

When you first change to Career #2, you don't actually get any benefit until you start to invest xp in the Skills / Talents and Advance Scheme of that new Career.

Before you can change to Career #3, you have to had filled out all skills / talents and advance Scheme of Career #2 - and so on.

That's just based on my interpretation of RAW as stated in p27-28 in the rulebook at least.

we will look at it been a while since weve been able to play

@ Tzeentch I know I am supposed to be the younger brother but as elder brother go to bed lol got full day tommorow

The Bloody Vale is located in the Empire, near the mountain pass where Sigmar did his heroic battle so many millenia ago against the orc hordes. The main religion is of course Sigmar, and all people here are Empire citizens, but their recent attitude may surprise any fervant soldier or citizen of the glorious Empire. please keep THIS to yourself, but the citizens of the Bloody Vale village known as SchwarzeWasser or "Black Water" have fallen upon hard times, by what or why u don't know, but their current faith in the Empire is at an all time low.

Cool then I will go with the student. What do I need to do to roll him up?

Also, and please do not take this the wrong way but could you stop the L33t speak? The u, ur and b4 etc along with the lack of capitalization and apostrophes really makes your posts hard to read and it just sound s bad.

It might just be me but having to read posts several times just to translate the basic meaning kills anything like suspension.

Sorry if you are offended and I do not know if it is a deal-breaker or not but I wanted to let you know it is causing at least a minor problem.

It's no problem on my end Lost Soul, I am actually just pretty tired from a night out on the town with my girlfriend at the local fair :) ok for stats you need to roll a 20 +2d10's for each of these skills, on HERE in a spoiler if you do not mind. not to say I do not trust you guys, but you must understand my hesitancy when people say "Ok I have these stats" "Umm...how do you have all 20's?" "Oh I rolled them." "Yeaaaah no."

lolz. ok for stats. Weapon Skill, WS, Ballistic Skill, BS, Strength, S, Toughness, T, Agility, AGI, Intelligence, I, Willpower, WP, Fellowship, FEL. for Wounds, roll a d10 and ill tell you the score along with your amount of starting Fate Points, also a d10 roll. i will cover more tommorrow as I am so tired from a full day. NIGHT all. Post any questions and I will address them all in the morning.

Changer of Ways:

(From Eradico)

Will provide backstory and more detail later.

For character generation can we make eight rolls and then assign them to the characteristics of our choice? If so I may do that for my thief and half-elf.

Here are rolls for my Initiate of Sigmar, Brother Ottmar

WS 20 + 1d10 + 1d10 ⇒ 20 + (8) + (7) = 35 +5 (Initiate Bonus) +5 (Warrior Born) =45
