I don't always love my life. A lot of the time I'm sunk into various states of depression and hating it.
The thing is, when I'm not, I realize that my thoughts when I'm depressed are somewhat warped from reality, and that I've actually accomplished a lot more in my life than I ever thought I'd be able to.
Most of all though I realize that while I can't get out of the front door of my home without help, I don't starve, I don't freeze in winter, I don't live with people that beat me (or worse) and there isn't an army on my doorstep blowing up half my hometown.
That is when I truly love my life.

I called my best friend the other day to let her know what I thought of The Dallas Buyers' Club (she's been in the trenches of the HIV/AIDS war since 1984). While we were talking, I mentioned that I was doing the holiday shopping, and asked if there was anything from Cali that she couldn't live without. She immediately replied "You!". I had to remind myself that sniffling into the phone just gets it all nasty, but I still feel all warm and fuzzy.
