Help with Mystic theurge idea

Advice

So I want to build a mystic thurge with druid and sorcerer levels insted of the usual claric/wizard or claric/sorcerer.

so far my druid is a buffer druid of the wolf arctype. all i'm looking for is a sorcery bloodline that is inherintly naturey wihout all the fey stuff conveluting everything.

any help and/or Constructive cirtisism would be helpful

Thank you

There's the Sylvan variant on the Fey bloodline that gives you an animal companion at level -3. You could probably talk your DM into letting your sorcerer and druid levels stack for the companion, though once you start on Theurge levels your companion will fall behind, and you can only take Boon Companion once.

There's also the Empyreal variant of the Celestial bloodline that lets you use Wisdom for all your spells/abilities, greatly aiding the MAD that a Theurge normally has.

Also, if your GM is willing to allow 3.5 material, there's the Arcane Hierophant prestige class out of Races of the Wild specifically tailored to be a multiclass druid/arcane caster. You give up the Theurge spell-slot crossovers and such in exchange for Wild Shape and your animal companion to continue scaling. It also allows your animal companion to gain all the abilities of a familiar, including increased intelligence. Overall I think Arcane Hierophant, if allowed, would be a much better match for your concept than Mystic Theurge.

assuming your not set on Mystic Theruge take a look at the Witch, combines arcane and druid type spells into single spell list, flavor of mystic theruge without the issues.

The biggest problem with using sorcerer or oracle to get mystic theurge is their spell progression. Its gonna take much longer for you to get your theurge on compared to the cleric/wizard.

There is also the verdant bloodline, which is based on nature magic. That should fit the bill for you.

Shadow Lodge

The greatest problem with Mystic Theurge in these builds is that most of the really nature-like powers of both Druid and Sorcerer are class abilities, and not necessarily spells. Once you take Mystic Theurge, you stop developing those powers, and get extra spells instead.

The Witch (mentioned above) is a great way to combine both into a single class. If, however, you are really interested in making a Mystic Theurge, then you might want to look at a Druid/Witch. The other method would be to take a Sorcerer with the Verdant bloodline (also mentioned above).

Animal companion stack no matter the source. Druid, Cleric(with animal domain), Ranger, Palidian, Cavaler ect.

I was thinking of Oracle Dark Tapestry Mysteries with Witch for Mystic Theurge. It's definitely not optimal but cool. I'd tie the void creatures of the Dark Tapestry mystery into the patron of the Witch. So you'd be accessing both two different classes.

Careful using spontaneous casting classes, waiting the extra 2 levels to get 3rd level spells will cost you your 9th levels spells in the end. I think the MT is a phenomenal class, tbh, but it takes tenacity, and a willingness to have to use lower level spells in creative ways until you start picking up steam in the MT tree.

Menhir-Savant is probably a better choice than wolf savant for a druid class. I also will echo the sentiment that sorcerers do not make good theurges, though I will agree that if you have to jump on that grenade then Empyreal is good because it lowers your required stats to boost and bloodline powers don't really help a theurge much.

The lack of class ability progression is why I strongly suggested the Arcane Hierophant, since it allows the progression of Wild Shape and the animal companion, two of the most important features of the druid class.

You could play a Oracle of Nature as the divine so you can take the extra revelation feats to get more nature powers, all your casting would be based on the same stat and plus you would get some credit for noncaster levels with your curse.

Thank you for all the good advice, I appreciate all of it, and apologize for not responding quicker, time has been tight around here.

First off I want to say that the reason I chose the Wolf Shaman druid is because I like the flavor of the archetype. So I don't think I'll be changing that aspect of the idea, but I appreaciate the options presented that would make the build easier with different divine classes.

Second in regard to the arcane class, I'm not too picky about what class or archetype but I will say I want something that fits within the scope of the character, Which is a Mystical Wolf Shaman that blurs the line between arcane and divine. So I'm looking for options for an arcane class that mix well with the Druid spells.

With regards to what the GM is allowing us to draw from, as I understand it only pathfinder books are being allowed.

As for party roll I plan on picking up the slack as party healer/buffer while my companion acts as a combat support character.

Finally, Druid and Mystic Thurge class levels are completely non-negotiable, I can live with not having 9th level spells in either class if need be.

Again thank you for your assistance in this matter, I greatly appreciate it.

I would recommend wizard: Transmuter for your arcane class, there is really no good reason to play a sorcerer Theurge, Witch might work as an arcane class but take a hard look at the class beforehand.
