It would seem that yesterday or monday, the way posts were shown was changed. No longer is the subtext under a thread the name of the original poster as well as the date it was posted. Now, it just seems to be who has posted in it, using some unknown method of generating the list.
This is referring to viewing a message board's posts, not the threads themselves.
I really like the old system. It allowed you to see who was the original poster (If you see it's RavingDork, you know it's going to be interesting in some ways), as well as figure out the activity level in the post.
A post with 20 replies that's been up for 15 minutes should be pretty interesting to look at. One that was posted two months ago with the same number of replies, maybe not so much.
I guess I just don't see why this was changed to give less important information. You can't possibly show everyone who has posted in the thread. But who posted it originally and at what time is pretty useful.
Are these changes permanent or temporary?

You've clicked the "focus" link. For more details about it, see this thread.

While making this post, I finally noticed "Focus." However, I wasn't in "Focus" mode.
In unfocused mode, I still don't see when the post was first created, and by whom.
Yeah, it's not "Focus" mode. If you go to http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/paizo/websiteFeedback and look at the message topics, you'll see things like:
Bullets in Quotes •
Gruuuu, Gary Teter, Freesword and 2 others
...whereas it used to be:
Bullets in Quotes •
Evil Lincoln
(where "Evil Lincoln" is the original poster). "Focus" mode is definitely off for me (I toggled it on and off to make sure).

Oh wait, yes I know which page you're talking about. If enough people prefer the old behavior then we'll look into switching it back. The intent is to show who's currently participating in the conversation rather than just the thread creator.
See this post for details about how the list of "recent participants" is generated.

Here's an image of what I see. Notice the post "Animal Speaker Archetype: Attract Rats...?" It has one post, but the Topic column only shows "Foghammer", where before it had "Post by Foghammer, <date>" or something to that effect. That's the style I preferred, which doesn't appear to be around anymore.

I like the new information, but I preferred knowing who the thread starter was, and especially when the first post was made.
Perhaps you could implement having both types of information available.
I was just about to say the same thing. Both sets of information are interesting, but especially the date of the first post.

Because a cross-section of who has participated in a conversation is infinitely more interesting to me personally than knowing who started the thread. The person who started the thread oft times becomes very quickly inconsequential. Having the age of the thread on hand would be cool, I guess, but given the choice of one or the other, I'll take the new.

Dear Callous Jack,
I would like to formally express my amusement at your response to Sebastian's micro-post. I found it to be deliciously sardonic, when I consider it in light of the recent shenanigans in other threads.
I only hope that my own post reaches an acceptable length before I am devoured by the dreaded esquilax. At any moment they mi

I like it, it looks good. I'm glad you were able to keep the thread starter.
