Yes that would be a light spell, but from what you can tell there is no wizard around to cast it.

As you enter the ground floor of the secret passage you see the same sign that is on the medallion you got from Pandin. The Innkeep takes you into a small room off to the one side of the ground floor hall. Inside you see various weaponry and armor. "'Tis my job to make sure the Armies of the Dragon are well supplied." he says with a smile.
Each player please take either a masterwork weapon of your choice or a masterwork armor then please update your character sheets so I can see your new stats.

I took a MW Great Axe. My attack bonus went up by one.

Also I have decided that instead of using xp, once a major quest objective is reached you will gain a level. Making it to Kalu is a major objective. Please advance your characters to level 2.

HP roll: 1d8 ⇒ 2

edit:leveled to 2

HP Roll: 1d12 ⇒ 9

Too much overtime and shift work for me atm...Will work up Grey when I can...Sorry for the delay...

Muugru seems most interested in discarding his old battered earthbreaker and replacing it with a shiny new earthbreaker.

Male Halfling 1 Gunslinger

Hey Guys, Many apologies, but I have missed so much I am going to need to withdraw from this game. If you guys had already dropped me, I am so sorry. I look forward to one day playing with you again, but the Army and life have been pulling harder than expected. -Friz

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

Does that choice include having the weapon mighty? As in Mighty(2) MW Composite Longbow?

A little bit of retroactive.
Finishing the meal, "Thank you, Master Tandor, for the excellent meal."

Following the tavernkeep out back, he looks on with interest as the keep exposes the passage way. Kyras stands reluctant to enter until Mugruu enters, then steels himself to enter the enclosed space.

Surprised at the lighting he follows the others through until they reach the storage room. Looking with amazement he looks over the stockpile.

"Master Tandor, Sungalu, you didn't happen to know my father, Tomas Acaman, did you?"

Sorry its working out that way Frizzen, was looking forward to it. Take care.

Kyras Acaman wrote:

Yes it would.

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

In that case.

Kyras' eyes settle on a bowcase leaning in the corner. Looking it over, he admires the craftmanship. Pulling it out of the case he realizes how right it feels in his grasp, and as he tests the pull, a grin shows up on his face. "This one will do nicely, I think."

HP: 1d10 ⇒ 1
Ugh, not like I intend to enter the fray right? :)

Edit: Character updated.

It seems this large city has claimed the attention of the gnome and the halfling. Muugru suggests that perhaps their rings and the medallion should be collected for redistribution. Perhaps there might be other willing souls in the city interesting in partaking in the quest?

Did we lose anyone beside Frizzen?

Yes, I will open up recruiting to fill the two spots vacated by friz and zan

Grey is still here!. I'm just a little behind in understanding what is happening in game and have not the time currently to put the character up. Shall do my best as soon as I can1 =)

no worries...

Grey please just let me know what you chose and then I will continue on with the story while we wait for the rest of the applicants.

Ok guys just to let you know I am going out of town for a week starting tomorrow. I will try and throw up one post a day.

There should be two new characters joining us shortly. I expect them no later than Monday or Tuesday due to the holiday.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

Rickdak Soulaxe here. If you don't mind, I'm just going to do a quick read through of the recent events in the thread.

Female Human Sorcerer (Linnorm Blooded) 2

Having crossed many miles guided by the Dragon impression in her mind, the young Sorceress enters the Haunted Horse inn at last. She shakes her hair loose to get rid of the road dust and reattaches her scarf, looking round for the two tusked men she is supposed to find here.
As they do not seem to be here, she saunters towards the bar, looking for a barmaid.
While she feels really nervous for the first time since she took the road, her voice is light and clear: "I'll have an ale and whatever hot food you can serve me. I've been on the road for a long time."

Taking a seat at a nearby empty tavern she waits for her drink and meal. As the maid brings it, she lovers her voice to ask: "Tell me, love, I've been asked to meet three tough looking men here, mercenaries, I think. Two of them bear tusks and the last one is a bowman. If you've seen them and can direct me to them, I'll be very grateful.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

A very sad, determined looking dwarf enters a few minutes later, out of breath. Finding a barmaid, he says" Hullo, miss. I'll take a stein o' the strongest stuff ya' got. I've prolly got a while to wait, so I may as well pass the time in style,"now speaking as quietly as possible while still getting the message across, "You wouldn't happen to know of a small group of people around here who have a, ahem, special task, would you?"

Welcome aboard you two. I look forward to roleplaying with each of you. Gwenola, I apologize in advance for Muugru's callous and lurid manner :)

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

Nice to meetcha. Don't be discouraged if Ricdak doesn't take kindly to you at first. In any case, I'm built like a fortress. I'll be somewhat hard to hit, and when I am, I'll take the blow. I'm starting out with 34 hp. :P I definitely won't be as hard hitting as you, though.

No worries. The important thing is to get in good with Muugru's boss, Heshlem :)

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

That might be a tough sell as well, but I know well enough to not screw up a party with bickering based on race. This does not, however, mean that there won't be tension. It'll work out, I promise >:)

Tension is good and besides who can resist a paladin's charm?

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

There's a paladin?

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

Welcome aboard, Ricdak and Gwenola.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

Happy to be here. This should be a lot of fun. This is my first time actually playing this class, let alone a defensive style of play. In fact, now that I think about it, my last incarnation of Ricdak Soulaxe was a Barbarian. He did, however, have similar HP.:P

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

Yeah I am pretty intrigued by the armiger class. I hadn't looked through to much of the 3pp stuff on the PRD yet, but I think that one will be fun to play.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

Yep. I'll be able to tank Fort/Will saves, and I get something like 3/4 improved evasion. Whenever an armiger has to roll a reflex save to half damage, they half damage. If they make it, they take 1/4 total damage. Also, anyone near me is going to be getting a significant bump in AC. I count as cover to anyone around me, even if I wouldn't normally give a cover bonus, which is nice. In any case, I've never really played a support class this way, so it should definitely be interesting.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

Also, Erefine, I switched out Appraise for Sense Motive, unless you'd like me to put it back.

No that should be fine thanks for the heads up. Welcome to the two new arrivals. I appologize I am on vacation and the internet has been shotty due to storms.

Once the group got through picking out there item from the Dragon's Armory you all start back a bit jovial at the fortunes you have had this day. However up exiting the armory as you head down the hall to the stairs you stop dead in your tracks.
"Boss said you be showing up here said all we had to do was drink until we saw this here man take a group out the back door. Easiest money we could make. Seems you've made yourselves some downright good enemies."
Can the group down in the armory please roll initiatives?
Initiatives bandits: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Initiative Sungalu: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Initiative Bandit Leader: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Initiative Roll:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

In a commanding voice: "I do not wish to harm you. It would be wise of you to lay your weapons down and surrender immediately. This is your first and last warning. Well maybe we will let one of you live to get information, most likely just the one in charge if this turns into a fight."

I don't know how clear that was but he was basically saying if there is no fight they all get to live. If there is a fight most likely only the leader will be spared.

edit:How many of them are there not counting the leader or are you waiting to see how many us of there are that went down with Sungalu?

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

Aah, first fight with new bow and its close quarters. :)
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
lol and I rolled crappy anyways. :)

Female Human Sorcerer (Linnorm Blooded) 2

I'm going to be off the Internet from tonight to Friday night(I may be able to post on Friday) for work reasons.
Then I'll be off from the 14th of July to the 16th of July for the French Bastille day.
So please, roll for me if needed and do not wait for me to further the plot.

Sounds good thanks for the heads up. I will NPC your character to help along the plot. Also there are 3 bandits plus the leader.

"Well if you be so inclined I do know that my employer led a group of odd looking people out the backdoor, but other than that not too sure. Here is our strongest and best ale, tis apple flavored this time 'o year."

Barmaid to Gwendola,"Wow they do be a popular sort that master dwarf over there do be askin about them too. Like I told him my employer took them out the backdoor about 15 minutes ago lass. But here is our best ale and a plate of roasted mutton and turnips right hot out of the oven."

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

"Thank ya. You wouldn't mind if I went down there, would ya? I got a feeling these people are exactly the ones I'm lookin fer."

While waiting for his response, he'll take a swig from the stein of ale. "Nothing like the stuff I drank as a kid, but not bad."

"Don't quite know where they went after they went out the back, but if ya so inclined to try and find them then you are welcome to master dwarf."

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

"Thank ya kindly, sir. I'll take a look, and if I don't see or hear anything, I'll be back shortly."

Ricdak will exit via the backdoor and look/listen for any sign of the people he was sent to look for.

Perception1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Fantastic. Probably didn't hear a thing.

Ricdak you fail to hear or see anything but Gwenola followed you out and will assist you in your perception roll.
Gwenola Perception roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
And with her help you are able to see a small door beneath a pallet to the right.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

"Well now, this looks promising. Thanks, Miss. Sounds to me like you're looking for the same people I am, from what the barmaid says. Well, I'll open this, and we'll see if this is the right spot. If not, I guess we'll just go back inside."

With that, Ricdak will move aside the pallet, and open the door.

As you open the door you hear what seems to be shouting from under the ground.
Ricdak can you please roll initiative?
Gwen's initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Sungalu brandishes a giant axe and shouts out a curse probably in his native tongue. From what you can tell it was some type of challenge for the Bandit Leader.
Sungalu charges the Bandit Leader and with a swoop of his mighty axe...
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Damage:
1d12 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
His axe strikes true and opens a large gash in the chest of the leeader.
For those new here for combat you can post your action at anytime and then at the end of the round there will be a round summary that I will give before the second round starts.
Bandit Leader:
The bandit leader seeing the sight of his own blood yells out in rage and pulls out a bastard sword and with a slash strikes back at Sungalu...
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Damage: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
He strikes back giving Sungalu an equally large wound in his chest.
Bandits:
Bandit 1: From the back of the stairs he draws his longbow and takes aim at who he thinks is the leader...
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
His shot is wide and his arrow notches into the wooden post by Sungalu's head.
Bandit 2: From the second to the last spot sees the giant half orc and draws back his longbow...
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
His arrow pierces Muugru right in the left shoulder.
Bandit 3: Draws his longsword and charges Sungalu...
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
His sword swings wildly and Sungalu easily dodges out of the way.

Been a long time since I npc'd a caster as Heshlem can tell you I am a bit dodgey on the rules of their spells so if someone knows is Burning Hands a touch attack or a spell that they just have a DC for half damage?

Enraged by being shot and surprised, Muugru charges at the bandit leader in a fury of wild swings and frothing saliva.

Earthbreaker (Rage, charge, power attack): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (2, 2) + 13 = 17

"Stupid Human!! Heshlem said Surrender !!!"

Current Stats:

Str +4
Con +4
Max HP: 30
HP: 23
AC: 13 (rage, charge)
