The Hut of Baba Yaga! Sweet

Product Discussion

anyone else see this

Witch Hut, 20th level hex turns your house into a walking house with chicken legs, creepy as hell and very cool.

Could have a lot of fun with this Hex, sure there's mechanically more powerful Grand Hexes but hell the cool factor on this one is sweet.

Why Teleport when you can enjoy the ride in the Deluxe Hut of Baba Yaga 2000

At the very least your adventuring party now has a mobile bathroom, no more taking a dump in the woods and wiping your ass with whatever is in reach.

Awesome :)

Yup! That is one of the things I like the most about the stuff Paizo puts out. (Even if some folks think it is... whatever.) They put out options in the rules for cool concepts and flavor that is not really the "optimal" choice for a power build.

Witches that can screw up the looks of your character and then run away in their frickin house is awesome.

I also really like the feral speech of wizards and even Vow of Poverty for the monk. They allow your character to have a fun twist that provides some in game benefits or options... even if they are not the most powerful choice.

this is damn cool. I'd almost say every Lich should have a chicken leg hut.

I have to agree that this stuff is what sets Paizo apart from the "Other". It has the insane flavor of Dnd in its early days. You can give it to kids and they won't turn into dorks.

with undead anatomy spells you could pull off the Lich in hut routine quite well :)

Sir could you describe what happened

"Sheeet it was crazy man this fricken house with chicken legs ran through the fields which turned to dust then made a bee line for the brothel, dropped a giant chicken egg that hatched a bunch of worms and then did a fricken 180 outta there, meanwhile every good looking whore in town now looks like a dude, and those worms are eating people! "

The APG also has the Cauldron of Flying, very similar to the mortar/ pestle Baba Yaga uses to fly in the folklore. Me likey.

I wonder though, why make it 20th level only?
How would it hurt to make it lower level?
Maybe even a level PCs may see by the end of a typical Paizo AP?
Just as flavorful...?

The hex has a relevant mechanical effect. A walking house. Is not flavour only.

Now, it happens it has a lot of flavour too (is freaking awesome, and, as the OP pointed out, root in RW tales and legends, thing I love so much).

Absolutely. Thumbs up for the hut and cauldron.
Very nice job A+ See you next year.

Agreed, the flavor in Paizo's products is second to none.

Liberty's Edge

I agree that it's an awesome flavor thing, but I also agree that it's not necessarily 20th level in power. How often do people actually get that high in games? I'd love to see this sort of cool thematic stuff that can be done in a game that people can actually play in. It's not that much more powerful than a cool mount. I can see it being a Major Hex, and toning the abilities down a bit.

Or a lesser version being a Major Hex, then getting better as your PC levels.

Technically, it's an 18th level hex (as you can take it as your first Grand Hex at 18th level).

It's a Hex, it's definitely a step up from Hidden Home which is a major Hex. And it's really a Hex that should be reserved for the top tier, the truly legenedary stars of witches... 18th level or higher.

And with Creat Demiplane and anchoring it to your hut...it just even more awesome.

Key, or you could just have a blue box that is bigger on the inside than the outside.

I once stated up the TARDIS as an artifact (under BECMI, I believe). I might give it another go later, in Pathfinder terms. Of course, half the board will detest it, because both the Teleport Without Error and the Time Travel spells will include the caveat that the DM can and should simply send the adventurers where they are needed, and not where they actually intended to go.

Will it include an American President as a handy accessory?

I suppose there’s bonus points if the entrance to that demi-plane is located in the wardrobe?

That is only if you are playing a game with heavy Christian overtones and talking lions....
