Looks like DB is going to always be up close and personal with things we encounter, I might have to focus more on my archery next level....
The roller seems to be working fine! ;)
That is fine DB, I managed to get a SA on a gorilla with my shortbow, and got to flank and finish off with my axe.
@DB
I think "we" are fine as long as one of us makes a decent stealth roll, the other just becomes bait! It has been you a couple of times, I will be due for being bait shortly I am certain! ;)
It makes sense also the eye catches movement first and then focuses in, so if the BBEGs spot one of us they are likely to miss the other....
Plus we are usually about 30 apart!

Steel Wolves - just a warning that I'll be out of town on business starting tomorrow through the weekend. Down to Singapore for a rig visit.
Should still be able to get a daily post in during the evening, but things will likely move a little slowly for a few days. Just stretch out the anticipation of what sort of evils Cort is in for after stepping on the eye....

Ryuko |

And Im wondering if Cort is still with us at all. He hasnt posted with the Wolves since sunday but has been active as Ryuko all week.
Sorry Sentis, hadn't realized that I hadn't posted in a while. Most of my posts as Ryuko come from my phone, which doesn't work well for IC posts since I can't use []. I'm still here, and I'm moving things ahead because I'm sick of discussing it lol. I'm impatient. :P

Sentis Spinis |

no worries and no need to apologize. just glad to have you with us. my friends in squad 4 are jealous of our activity and i hope it stays that way. i kinda feel bad since i talked them into signing up braggin about how fast these merc games are running and its been over a month and they havent left town yet!
Ive tried posting from my phone as well and its a pain the arse so i completely understand that.

Kaavel |

Alright to everyone going wait what about me not taking a teamwork feat I do not like any of them. I also do not like how others have to be around for you to be able to use them. Even if it is free they seem worthless to me. I also posted this in here as to not screw with the game thread.

@Sentis: I did not take a teamwork feat. I did not really like the idea of them so just did not take one.
Say wha?
Okay there is that better? Good. Now go take Precise Strike so your squad mates don't die in vain. LOL! Just kidding...no really take Precise Strike.

Sentis Spinis |

hey Kaavel Id get it if we'd asked you to use one of your own feats but I'll never understand why you wouldnt want a free one that gives a +1d6 to damage whenever you happen to be flanking with a squadmate; especially when that extra damage could = killing an enemy quicker when that enemy could very well kill said squadmate in the next round. But its ultimately your character so do whatever you like and its cool.

Still waiting on some further feedback on what you'd like to do next from those that haven't stated. My plan is to offer up two or three options based on your preferences, and put that to squad vote.
Also, one other question.
As we can now safely assume Pentor has gone for good, I see no reason to continue both the discussion thread and game thread with his name in the title.
Does anyone have any issues with re-booting the in game and discussion thread with the following titles:
Steel Wolves - Mercenary Campaign OOC
Steel Wolves - Mercenary Campaign Game Thread

Don't care if we reboot, cept we're nearing 1000 posts :( though as one who is GMing another squad, do we still want to keep this an intertwined game??
1) I'd like to get away from the jungle, and move more towards civilization.
2) Standalone, or if we have NPCs, no more annoying ones like Vankerman.
3) Humanoid, core races, orcs, goblinoid, etc is all fine by me....at least for now, lol.

DM - Voice of the Voiceless |

My personal view on the intertwining is that it is not possible. It would have been exceptionally difficult even with a single point of oversight to draw everything together.
With three to four disparate groups with different progression speeds, DMs, etc, it doesn't appear to to be possible to me. I know that takes a bit of the shine off the whole mercenary group concept - but that's the way I feel on it.

Darkbiter |

As much as I love the idea of intertwining the groups, the difference paces would be a killer. If we still had Pentor around to manage the necessary aspects of balancing the different groups, it would be one thing, but as it is, the pace is just a tough thing to overcome.
