That seemed to always be the one area where there were lacking PrCs in 3.5, ones for specific weapon styles. There were a few here and there, but even Complete Warrior was a bit of a disappointment, and we never got a Complete Combatant (CWar II) at the end of 3.5, so unless you want to go looking for something from Tome of Battle, there's not a lot out there. Did you look at the archetypes for combat style-devoted Fighters in the APG, by any chance? The Faction Guide has the 9th Batallion which is a sort of Foreign Legion for Dwarves iirc.
It also has a new feat Let them Come and some new mundane armour modifications
What's his idea/concept?

Like Thanael asked, what's his idea/concept? If he just wants to hit things REALLY hard, the 2h fighter archtype and the vital strike chain do that really hard. Though he's only going to have one attack per round. But at level 16 that one attack is going to be doing (unless I got my math wrong) 4x weapon + 16 (assuming 18 str to start, +4 belt and 4 stat boosts) + 24 (power attack).
Multiclassing out of the base classes isn't always the best idea, they're usually pretty awesome 1-20.

Is the concept a two-handed fighter? The best prestige class for that is more fighter. You don't need a PrC to fill a concept that already exists in a base class.

One thing I like about Pathfinder (over 3.5) is that the base classes are worth taking to 20. In 3.5 they were just classes you were forced to take until you qualified for your PrC(s).
There is no shame in running straight fighter. Take it and carve a bloody path of ruin through your foes.
