How to clear out an area in no time at all.

Co-worker: Oh man, you got a new truck! Does it still have that new car smell?

Me: I don't know, I can't smell anything!

Everyone immediately backs up 6 feet away from me.

Fun fact: I was born with almost no sense of smell, which was damaged further when I almost severed my nose in a mini bobcat incident a couple of years ago.

Damn. So much for my plans for the local squirrel populace.

Freehold, please re-read the other posts for complete and critical information. I'm *positive* you missed at least one really important detail.

I started the week with four others on my crew.

Today, just Rocko. And some poor kid I ground down last year.

So Vany was pretty accurate.

That only means that there's still room for the punt gun/voulge combo weapon I am sure you have (not) been dreaming of.

Well, he broke a lot faster this year. I was hoping to get a couple more out of him.

Damn, I'm going to miss him, whatever his name was.

We were colossally stupid and seem to have dodged a bullet. I don't know that this merits cheering.

Just how stupid was LM this time?:

On Christmas Eve, our church hosted an outdoor, distanced Christmas Eve service where masked family groups (there were only four groups including ours, totalling 10 people) sat 18 feet apart and watched a livestream of the service in the sanctuary, but our pastor came out (masked and freshly sanitized) to distribute pre-portioned Communion. While we were all assured before the service that every possible precaution was being followed and we were all as safe as we could be, our pastor emailed us a few days later to say, "Whoops, I have Covid, as do the music director and his wife. Better get tested, folks."

The utter hubris of "Yes, we know this is something we absolutely should not do, but we can get away with it because we're somehow magically doing it better and more safely than everybody else" is not lost on me.

So far, I'm the only one who has their results back, but if I don't have it, chances are that WW and the kids don't, either. It's been nine days now and none of us has had any symptoms.

So, yes, most of the time I generally think I'm smarter than most other people, because I'm an a******, and this time, I was not only dead wrong, I was a freaking moron.

In a way, you were smart to be doing this outdoor while socially distanced and masked. If all of the congregants come back negative, that will be a testament to the efficacy of those precautions.

I too am rolling the dice on this trip. We have taken every possible precaution for travel and while here(for the most part), but still...things could go wrong. I am going to be tested tomorrow as soon as the place opens.

First fight with Mrs Sunrise this morning. We disagree on who is responsible for pre-cleaning dishes before they're loaded into the washer, so I'll be doing chores other than dishes for the immediate future.

Impus Major and I were having a political debate and disagreeing as to whether or not taking advantage of the general public's ignorance could be classified as a "brilliant" strategy.

I described why it was, leading Impus Major to declare,
"Ah, yes. Stupidity. America's greatest natural resource."

You wouldn't say that if you've ever been to Wisconsin in January.

There is in fact a time when it's too cold, and that's usually January 14-29th.

I personally would like to be the first to welcome our new impus overlord.

The weather, or at least the forecast, is really pissing me off. For the last 4 or 5 days, the forecast for tonight was 1-3 inches of snow. Even this morning, before I went to bed, it said 1-3 inches. When I woke up, it said less than 1 inch. Now it says 3-5 inches. This is b#!#$~#~.

The weather is famous for being unpredictable. It's like it's thing.

Usually they can get a broad range at least somewhat right. And changing a forecast from < 1" to up to 5" in 2 hours is pretty uncommon, even around here.

My suggestion is to throw rotten fruit at the weatherman... unless he's carrying a bow and arrow. then probably don't

And after all that, I look outside and see about a half inch of snow. Real good predictamacating.

To obscure a reference?

If it was meant to be a reference, then maybe. I sure didn't recognize it.
