I don't think the virus is the part to worry about. Covid-19 is dangerous enough to merit concern, but it's got nothing on alligator brain mass panic.
The economic side of this is going to get ugly. Shipping lanes being essentially no-gos mean goods aren't arriving, which means shortages on store shelves. That's going to make a quarantine exceedingly difficult, and I don't think it's a stretch to picture Black Friday scenarios over the last case of water bottles and Kleenex. Putting this in LA amplifies the concern by sheer virtue of the large population: more people, fewer goods. Even if the virus itself doesn't explode like the media seems to fear, a lot of people are going to react as though it is the worst-case scenario.
I would not want to be the chaperone in a situation like that.
I went to Costco on Saturday and it was appalling... people were doing EXACTLY that -- stocking up on long-term "isolate in place" items. Apparently the Costco I go to in Richmond was one of the least-impacted. Last weekend multiple Costcos reported being totally sold out of many, many such items.
And here I was just using my tax refund to refill my garage fridge.

According to this sign up sheet, the game with Freehold, Woran, and all the milkmaids captain yesterday brought is full. Ah, well.
H'm. I don't recall the book mentioning that an actual paddling pool filled with Jello and a selection of drastically abbreviated dirndls were required to run 'White Plume Mountain', but there you go.
And it makes sense that FAWTL's representatives of the nation which is universally acknowledged to be Best At Cooking In The World do the catering, so DSXMachina and myself will take on that task.
EDIT: And if I run anything, it'll be either DCC Lankhmar or 'Stormbringer'

Hold on - are those axes made of stout, or axes designed specifically to open casks of stout?
Either way, I want one.

On Laurelin, no less.
Note, though, that the LP Store Minas Morgul doesn't include character slot or Stout-Axes, which need to be bought separately.

I've still got open character slots, that's not an issue. The rest of that though...bastards.

It was that way with previous expansion too. Remember that, while 2495 LPs for the expansion might seem much when you buy points for $, it can be earned in game quite easily by grinding mindlessly like a no-life.
LP = Lotro Points, aka special in-game store currency to unlock content, upgrades, and fancy thingies. But mostly unlock content.

I know a place in Florida that will defeat you with diablo shrimp. There's no exchanges or refunds when you order it. Let's go.

there is a place in Jersey that had hot wings that were physically painful to eat. Unlike buffalo wild wings these wings were DELICIOUS though. You can only get them in person, you CANNOT get them through delivery and you can only order a certain amount.
Showering afterwards brought the pain back.

I'll stick with NobodysHome's mild curry, thank you.
Coincidentally I tried to made some curry yesterday... I thought the paste I opened was mild, so I followed the second recipe printed on the bag... Which might have forgotten dosage (they mentioned mixing the content of the bag, 50 ml, while the first recipe said one spoon or 15 ml). I decided to put half the bag...
When it was ready, I ate a small bowl, poured the other half of coconut milk (400 ml can, half of which went into the pot during the first stage), added more meat and more cubed potatoes, and left it to simmer for some time.
Afterwards it was much more manageable...
Though I know people who would probably be happy with the initial result. Not me, though. I lost my appreciation for hot food years ago. Now abundance of hot spices gives me stomach issues.

AND on THAT spicy note,...
Nighters all! ;P(Just had a long run through of Music Man show that I got dragged into, AND went over my script for Xanadu the Musical that I ALSO got dragged into, all while in communication with my student workers who are running my own auditorium and hopefully not letting it burn down in the process,...)
I'm drinking a hot toddy, with a Gentlemen Jack Chaser, and going to BED!

So, on tuesday I had some dental work done. I had a little bit of left over brace behind my bottom teeth to help them stay in place. But it was had already lost half its wire, and when the left over wire poked me, I pulled it out. I was left with the glue on my teeth.
I had the glue removed. A procedure not covered by insurance.
I now got the bill.
9,80 euro.

It's $11.09. In the US you'd be charged about $150 minimum, and possibly as high as $400.

Stuck at home with a real sick kid (he fell asleep while sitting at violin lessons at school, yesterday, due to fever) and that means I can get approximately zero of the normal things I'm up to done.
(I mean, I could force him to go places or whatever - and will enforce a naptime - but it is next to impossible [for me] to get things done for either entertainment or housework with sick kid in middle of the floor continually wanting me to just sit near him (but not too close, 'cause he doesn't want me to get sick). Sweetheart.)

On the other hand, "Hey, Daddy, watch. Watch, Daddy. Daddy are you watching? Watch this, Daddy. Daddy, watch. Watch me, Daddy. Daddy can you watch." all delivered with Ben Stein-like monotone from sick while trying to show off something exceptionally banal in a video game that he does all the time (and isn't succeeding at, because he's sick and tired).
Now, all I'm saying, is it's a good thing I'm already insane. Because if not, tHiS wOuLd dRiVe mE kInDa nUtZ
He is an absolute sweetheart, but if I try to look away from the screen for any length of time, no matter how short, I am immediately called back to it to watch him... walk a short distance. But in the wrong way. It's kind of funny in a cute way... at first. Sigh. Love this guy.
EDIT: and sometimes he's pretty great at it. Other times I'm questioning why he really feels the need to try this, when he's virtually going to sleep on the floor while attempting to play this game.
