Pffftb. Drakes are better to fight anyway. Wyverns just look stupid. Much like emo kids at a Cumbies at three am

Edit: ninjaed by a nekkid badgah!

What are you talking about? Wyverns are too cool. They've got badass poison stingers and everything.

Now, don't get me wrong. Drakes are cool, too, I guess, in their own way, but wyverns ain't nothing like emo kids.

Morning, all. What did I miss?

So far I'm liking Santa Fe. We are taking a day off from driving because: A. We need to. B. We are ahead of schedule and don't want to arrive early.

Last night, we finally got around to seeing the new Harry Potter. We had been too busy and distracted to see it previously. Very enjoyable.

Today, an art museum and visiting historic Santa Fe.

I LOVE NM. If you decide to drive up to Taos, you MUST eat at Joseph's Table. And you MUST have the red pepper cream soup. (I'm sure it's too fancy to be called cream soup, but you'll be able to figure out what it is.) Enjoy Santa Fe.

Wyverns are the Jerry Browns of the monster world: tired, wimpy, old, and lacking relevance

Yes there was, a WHILE back. I'm sure you can find the thread if you look. Essentially someone had a paladin character in an adventure path that ran into a Wyvern's nest and ended up slaughtering both it and it's young in a rather cold fashion, stating that the creatures were evil and deserved nothing better than death. I think it was the DM who posted and asked for opinions on what to do, got a few, and then the guy who played the paladin came forth to give his side of the story. It got ugly as people ended up getting defensive, offensive, every kind of -nsive you can think of. I personally thought that killing a creature's young- even evil creatures- calls for an alignment shift if the young are incapable of defending themselves or are somehow intentionally sought out for the sole purpose of being killed, but that's just me. I think Mairukion disagrees with me on this somewheres, but I can't quite be sure where- it was a looooooooooong time ago.

I don't disagree. You disagree. People who don't agree with the truth always disagree. Baby monsters are just monsters that you can stop beforehand. It's evil not to stop them.

We do disagree, as I tend to think slaughtering a creature's young is something that goes a bit outside of alignments as we know them- all creatures, good or evil, will fight tooth and nail to protect their young, with rare, rare exceptions. Once you start smacking around a creature's get- which, IIRC in this case, couldn't really defend themselves or weren't really a part of the battle, I'm not sure, I think that's getting into something that could be considered evil. Should the paladin fall automatically because of it? Not necessarily, but nor would I encourage this type of behavior or view it as lawful or good. It's a sticky situation.

EDIT- I also think there was an issue with Wyverns changing alignment somewheres across editions.

Of course. Drakes play a major, major role in my campaign setting, and I am interested in seeing what you bring to the concept.

Killing monsters is usually sticky business. Truth is, wizards should be coming up with magical ways to clean off in the dungeon, because in real life, we would soon not be able to stand each other.

Oh yeah....silly little thread that it was. It really depends on the game and how the GM has it set up. If in his game world Wyverns and other such are beings of pure evil, then yes a Paladin should slay them and in fact not doing so would be wrong. On the other hand if it is not so Tolkienish of a world and a Wyvern could be raised other than Evil, the Pally should loose his abilities. The player should however know what world he is in before said action.

Yes, I needed to go in the hospital for a few days after my second trip to the ER. The pain killers they gave me did not do the trick. Was not a fun picture either so much pain puking in the ER room as they are giving me my second dose of morophine and deciding hmmm this is not working we should try a new drug. Then a few hours later after the new drug was working the guy said so think you can go home? I was looking at him like he was crazy. He got the point and I got admitted for the pain. They tried to go in with a scope and break it up but they pushed the stone back into the kidney ...not a fun procedure would not recommend that for a vacation get away either. But good things onthe horizon I get a sonice bath Thursday which should break up all the stones and I should be able to pass them without too much discomfort. Now I am at work in some discomfort but much happier than I was earlier this week.

So what's the story with the whole genocide troll thing? I found I was smart enough (i know surprising for an orc) to find the thread. I think someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed or perhaps he has kidney stones himself alot of anger there.

No dwarven stones here, but Q-workshop's dwarven dice are very cool. Also, you might want to take a look at a Game Science video. :-)

EDIT: The obvious question is, can those kidney stones be made into dice...

Cool stuff. I used to play in the Scarred Lands and there's really no dragons to speak of for story reasons. Recently we started in Golarion and I'm scared of dragons! They're so....lethal.

I can definitely use some drakes for practice!

Cats are mysterious and otherworldly, and not firmly bound to time and 3-dimensions as humans are. Perhaps Jess' cats and Kajehase's parents' cats are one and the same, coexisting in two (or more) places simultaneously?

Now Taig, you know I hate Facebook, so it only makes sense that I would not have heard of these drakes until now. They are amazing, one and all, although the Quick Drake sounds similar to mine own Quick Dragon, if in name only. The assembled links are so awesome, I may have to change your name to something other than [censored].

I bought my PDF of it back on the 3rd, and only skimmed through it, but it seems pretty darn good, IMHO. Plenty of drakes and options at nearly every PC level. It's darn pretty too, and chock-full of Hugo (Solis)'s finest artwork yet. Taig, Daigle, and Hugo did an excellent job.

I gave up caffine years ago don't really drink soda so I guess it may have been the alcohol but when I asked they said there are many reasons these things happen. For one it is hereditary and my father had them so my guess is its the genes.

RPG Superstar 2012

Hmm, I wonder what Freehold censored...

Hugo's art is amazing. I've said that even if people didn't want to read what Adam and I wrote, get it for the art. The book is worth it for that alone, IMHO.

So, I was trying to clean up my Drake doc, and Google Docs decides to go all bonky. I get sick of it and try to copy and paste it into OpenOffice, but it apparently brings some bonkiness with it.
