Thanks, NH & Drejk. Is there any means of comparison graphics cards from different manufacturers, or is it totally apples v. oranges? 'Cause cards are the thing that really throws me off about system requirements -- I've got an Intel X card, so how am I supposed to compare that to an Nvidia Y or an AMD Z requirement?
I've googled a bit, but the articles I've read gloss over the issue -- "Manually check your machine's specs against a game's requirements" with no explanation how to compare graphics cards, "or use Can You Run It? to auto-check." I'm not even sure that site works for macs, and I'd rather be able to check requirements myself without some website digging into my computer for info.
Generally integrated graphic cards are less desirable than dedicated ones, unless the later is much-much older. I don't really know much beyond that.

Why?
Because nowadays similar to scalpers online booking companies reserve up most of the rooms on their own so you have to do through them...
And so far (knock on wood) we haven't gotten screwed...
Oh, I see. That's...kinda messed up.

Oooh Drejk the scaleless!
*Throws Drejk a towel*
Yeah no darkest dungeon on my home comp since graphics card won't support it. Tried to cheat, didn't work out.

I'm not surprised. The booking companies may have even gotten better rates because of economies of scale and the hotel less hassle on whether they need to worry on empty rooms. Since it's booking.com problem for filling up those rooms, not theirs, the hotel still is gonna get paid for those.

I found another Green Lantern t-shirt, so now when Freehold visits we can go out on the town as the Green Lantern corps.
You and Freehold are the same size? I got the impression he was bigger then you are...
I think I can probably wear my moms stuff on the waist, however shoulders are a different story. Hey, my shoulders got bigger after all that weight lifting and swimming!
Oh calf and thigh size might be a problem too. Don't mind me, it's solid muscle down there. At least these days I don't feel bad about not having slim legs, I know that's solid muscle for work since if I can use my legs to power up the lift, I can lift considerably heavier weights.

I wear my clothes oversized anyway.
Also, that now makes three Green Lantern t-shirts.

I have to side very strongly with Nobody on the hotels issue.
The few times I've gone traveling that I had to book ahead, the times I used Hotwire were always less hassle, less trouble, less frustration, less complications, and less cost, all in one big happy bundle. I never had to worry about there being no vacancy, I never had to worry about prices changing, and I never had to worry about getting shunted to a different room because the one I'd reserved got sold out ahead of my arrival.
On top of being able to price-check and compare options in the area all in one place.

I'm not sure if the animation budget covers animated chef pants.

I imagine you don't show up for your room at 1 in the morning ighter. Which probably helps.

I don't know that I've ever had a hot wire reservation. They may not have a contract with us.
Your saying its less trouble making a reservation with hot wire then with the hotel directly? That's curious maybe we should drop bookings and work something out with them then.
So most of the problems come from making a reservation at the last minute. with a few exceptions. If you show up late with a last minute reservations I've had it happen a few times where they would book a room for someone like that and we would be sold out. It's usually because their computers don't keep updated.

Vidmaster7! Help me! I just figured out that my ideal weight for one handed dumbell rows is 8 kg!(By testing various weights for 10 sets at the gym)
Could you suggest things in the house that aren't too bulky that fit the bill? I mean bottles of water are out since each one is only 600 ml, and a packet of rice only weighs 5 kg ><

1.6 packets of rice.

So I overslept until 7 on a Sunday morning, which means I have to get breakfast in the oven quickly so I can dye my roots (waaaaay overdue... I've got an inch of solid grey at my scalp) and I can never do it on a week day), make some onigiri for lunch before we go to Grandma's house this afternoon, marinate the chicken for dinner, iron my dress, do the laundry and still get to choir practice on time at 10:30.
Thank goodness there's coffee.

Good luck LM...I think it's a bit hard. What are you stuffing the Onigiri with?
Found out I was doing push-ups wrongly - should not have my elbows flare outwards. Will need to work with knee pushups until I can get my elbow flare worked out.
Also finished prepping Ironfang Invasion Book 5. Will probably take a bath then have an early night.

What IS onigiri?
A triangular pod of compressed short-grain rice flavored with seasoned rice vinegar and furikake (dried fish powder and sesame seeds) stuffed with some kind of fish (I just use lox) or vegetable (pickled plum paste is my favorite) and wrapped in a bit of nori.

Ah, to be 15, young, clueless, and immortal.
On the one hand, I'm very proud that my kids haven't bought into the modern U.S. "culture of fear", where everything is out to kill you or betray you or what-have-you. If you watch for it, it's rather terrifying to behold just how much our culture relies on fear to drive everyone to do everything.
On the other hand, taking BART with three 15-year-old girls to downtown San Francisco with no cash and no way to get home if anything goes wrong without even mentioning it to your parents is a bit much...
We had no idea where Impus Minor was going; he just walked out the front door and said, "I'm going out."
We got a call two hours later where he wanted to know where GothBard worked because he wanted to visit her, and we asked, "What?"
"Oh, I'm in San Francisco and I thought I'd visit you."
"I don't work on weekends."
"Oh."
Later, he called because he had no cash and didn't know the PIN for his ATM card, so he had no money at all.
On the one hand, independence is good.
On the other hand, considering the crime rate on BART at the moment, and the gangs who are preying on young teens and stealing their phones (and beating them if they resist), going to S.F. without telling your parents and without any cash in case everything else gets stolen is just being woefully unprepared.
Hope for the best. Plan for the worst.
EDIT: And yeah, all I wanted was to be told that he was going, to set up his PIN so he could get cash, and to tell him to cheerfully hand over his phone to anyone who tried to take it, because phones are easy to replace, and kids aren't.
