Yeah, I do that all the time.

First glimpse of the playtest
Some of this looks excellent; some of this look, just hrk-!
*grimaces in pain*
"Hey, no, really, it's not of the devil!"
"It, uh... it literally says it's 'occult.' I mean, it's right there?"
"Y-... yeah."
And, let me be clear, this has nothing to do with real-world Wiccans or anyone of any other real faith whatsoever. When you have a whole generation of people who grew up with literature suggesting that role playing games lead to the occult (and associate that with "witchcraft" - which, let's be clear, is not the Wiccan kind), means that having a product literally label itself "occult" - regardless of intent - makes it a really hard sell.
Because you're going to have to have conversations and education, and that's not something you're going to be able to do. So your options become, "just don't play this thing," or "avoid the conversation," or, "spend an excessive time trying to explain things in a way that doesn't invite reproach (and, by the way, given that people tend to look for things that confirm their bias, you're going to be fighting an uphill battle)" - and none of those are fun or good. It's one of the reasons that I love that it's named "Pathfinder" - I like D&D, but it's had such powerful negative connotations, culturally, that I can break free of those with a new name, and maybe even show off the Core rulebook and go over things, if people prove interested.
... but now, that's just... not possible. It requires too much work and effort, and, honestly, I just don't want the drama.
But then again, Paizo has seemed really uninterested in folk like me or those with my heritage or preferences as a player for quite some time, and this is just one more step in that direction.
It sucks, but, eh, I might just have to drop out of much of the hobby with such a change, simply because it would cause too much toxic tension due to sheer nomenclature - a stupid reason, but an important one.
But, more than that, the complexity with a decrease of granularity - spend class feature points, spend spell slots, follow three different feat selections (skill, class, other) - is just a turn-off. I like granularity, and I like complexity, but I don't like multiple mostly-needless and overlapping complexities - much like having a scrolling bar within a scrolling bar: at least not without having some sort of justification beyond, "They work different." This sort of thing is, for example, okay in PF with, say, mythic (to an extent), but it becomes kind of less so when you have to keep track mythic/hero points, spellcasting, limited-use pool-based class features, feat trees, skill points...
As obvious from the above, this is already true in PF, but from what I've seen, 2E just kind of... shifts how that is applied, and I feel a deep seated fatigue in trying to relearn a new form of complexity, especially since freedom-based granularity - that is, the ability to choose specific level-elements skill points (or similar choices) and how the rules interact with the world at large - seem to be changed into automatic upgrades and extremely stratified choices.
This overly-specific slot system is the same kind of stratification that I didn't enjoy about 4E, as a system - it provides a pleasant form of clarification, but it weakens the feeling of the in-game reality by forcing such "slot"-specific mechanics (one of my major complaints about the Vancian system of casting, in fact... which they're retaining, so... sigh).
I will give credit where it's due: I'm intrigued by the point-based concept, the codification of all d20 rolls as "of the same kind" (be it skills, saves, or attacks), and clarification of ACs and DCs as being the same as those things, only with a 10 instead of rolling a d20. Additionally, the separate concepts of the categories of proficiency (untrained/trained/expert/master/legendary) is actually pretty excellent, and the bonuses are rather exactly the sorts of things I would like - much better than class skill/not class skill of the current dynamic... and that 5-point spread of difference between the options (-2 to +3) actually compares to the +1 to +5 bonuses that we currently work with; as I've not seen enough of the feats to know if focuses (skill focus) is a thing or whatever (partially due to the system fatigue), but Drejk seems to imply that there is something like the "bundled" skill feats of nowadays. Background stuff sounds pretty boss, and it's actually solid for things I like.
I like the concept of ancestries, but I'm uncertain about the execution, exactly. That your race selection allows you... selection, over levels, both makes sense (and is definitely the direction PF and PnP RPGs as a trend have been headed over time, even though I didn't realize it until now), but is also somewhat disappointing on a personal preference level.
And it's here that I just kind of... stopped writing and walked away for a while because, you know, life. I could probably go back and figure out my opinions, but I feel my opinion is grumpy and poorly researched with a strong hedge of "not first-hand-enough" - to that end, complaining about a system I've not given a fair shake to seems in poor form, at best.
But I will say this: for me, from what I've seen, I just feel exhausted, not interested. There are really cool elements, but learning them isn't a fun-sounding proposition, especially compared to what I already know. It's personal, it's system fatigue, and it's not saying the system is bad - it's just saying I'm tired and don't feel like learning that particular new system, right now, and it sounds neither exciting nor interesting enough to entice me into it, on a personal level.

I've personally felt that occult classes don't offer anything that the base classes and core classes do, and so they don't have any draws for me so to speak. I can't even look at PF 2.0 at this point of time, so TL, you're one step ahead of me.

On a more serious note I don't think I would ever pick a fight with anyone, and if anyone attacked me I'd just try to kick him in the nuts and run away after. The thought of beating someone up...urk!
Though I mean I've done kick boxing before so yeah that's a bit of a contradiction there. But I'd never want to hurt anyone.

Visited with Cap and Family on Saturday again. Tiny T-Rex is insane. Cap is so screwed.
We're at one of the local game shops, and I was needling Cap on picking up the PF Playtest book. He had picked it up and set it back down 6-7 times.
Then I said something to the effect of "If you've got $30 to spend, I mean your choices are pretty much one of these Star Wars minis or the playtest."
Tiny T-Rex, holding a couple plastic/rubber Pokemons and a plastic Pokeball: "Can I spend $30?"
Cap and I simultaneously: "Nooo..."
Tiny: "But why..." (getting that pouty sound in his voice, like he's on the edge of crying, but it sounded a little too manipulative to me)
Cap, after a minor discussion about how much money Tiny actually has: "Yes, you could spend that much on Poke stuff, OR you could keep saving it for that Nintendo you want."
Tiny: "I'm not going to do that, because I can just get the Nintendo from Santa at Christmas, and then I can get all the rest of the stuff I want myself!"
Me, just under my breath to Cap: "You are so screwed."
Cap: "I feel really bad for this kid's dad when he becomes a teenager."

am personally disappointed that they decided to go with "occult" instead of "psychic" as one of those has a heavy dose of real-world implications that make it difficult for me to tell my family, "No, really, this isn't of the devil." This, quite prominently, is one of the many things that makes me shy away from Pathfinder's "psychic" stuff - so much of it is cast exclusively as "occult"-design, and, honestly, that's just a painful thing when attempting to discuss things with highly conservative U.S.-based southern-style Christians."Hey, no, really, it's not of the devil!"
"It, uh... it literally says it's 'occult.' I mean, it's right there?"

While I'm not in the same boat, not even by a long shot, I can quite see your concerns and problems, and I'm more then willing to lend an ear if its a topic you're interested in giving your account of.
Subtle cultural differences are often lost in the big head-ligning topics (or simply drowned out by people shouting louder then you…) and let me tell you, words that carry certain connotations, can mean very very different things due to political, generational or cultural variations (even in the internal "conversations" of seemingly homogeneous 'groups').But I will say this: for me, from what I've seen, I just feel exhausted, not interested. There are really cool elements, but learning them isn't a fun-sounding proposition, especially compared to what I already know. Its understandable, and a completely valid position to take. In regards to PF2, its in may ways where I'm slowly heading, for I too have to face the fact that with both of my groups PF was more of a 'one system among many' then the system of choice.
I know that if throw the PF" playtest on the table, most of them will leaf through it some interest and see where things go from there, but enthusiasm won't be through the roof, whereas if I threw WFRP 4th on the table…I would be expecting a "Let's get it on!!!" response. Its as simple as PF2 just isn't the talk of my players right now (whereas WFRP 4th, Wrath'n'Glory, Symbaroum and others have all been going the rounds)...

Also, I did that drive up to Mt Horeb and Madison from Peoria via Bloomington (picked up Zelda in Bloomington) after only 3 hours sleep.
Was back at the office just before 11pm on Friday night, Network team made their changes, found a bunch of stuff going wrong, eventually decided that they had to scrap the changes for now and revert back. So I got home around 2:15am because they didn't actually test this before trying to implement it (again), couldn't get to sleep until about 3am, then was up at 6am to get the cats fed and make it to Mt Horeb in time for lunch (The Grumpy Troll, while nothing particularly special to look at, has phenomenal food and beer).
I only nearly fell asleep once on the way back home, which was otherwise uneventful.
And it meant that when Aiymi's mother went to bed Saturday night, she was the only one in the house, but when she woke up, it was me, Aiymi, Zelda, and 2/3 of the kids (which also meant we stopped in Bloomington again on the way back home to drop off the eldest and pick up the younglings). Surprise!

I sympathise, TL. I unfortunately don't have much advice, though, as my solutions tend to be summarized as "don't talk about my hobbies with family members unless they're already involved in them".
Whereas I go the complete opposite direction and talk way too much about them until said family members beg me to stop. They usually don't ask again.
I've just started calling it "drama club with math" to anyone who asks about it. Everyone knows what drama club is, i.e. - just pretending, so that works pretty well to allay my kiddos' parental concerns.
