Hey, Freehold! How've you been?I am doing....
I cant believe I didn't post about it sooner(actually, I blame the summer heat for that...105 with the heat index yesterday. I literally passed out from the heat)., but after 4 years, I finally have my bike back.
She has been modified to carry better brakes, larger wheels, better lights and everything.
The only modification I have yet to make is cutting off the bullhorns as due to changes in bike lane paint, I have a MUCH narrower passage and do not want to break someones side view mirror. I could also use a new seat and maybe a bell, but bells really arent my style.
But my god.
She is PERFECT.

She has this obsession with calling out my mother's family's WASP insularity... they eat nothing with any kind of seasoning or spice (or flavor, to be honest) other than salt and pepper, won't try anything outside of their narrow little box, won't explore anything the rest of the world has to offer, and turn up their noses at the suggestion that it might actually be good.
Does she say so non-offensively? Of course not. She's my sister.
Reminds me of my family, especially my mom who will stick pretty much to nothing but Chinese food. I think it's one of the things the older generation get(sorry if I'm insulting anyone). My Aunt is happy eating Japanese food and my Dad can be quite happy eating steaks, but too long of western cuisine(like what happened in Italy), and they'll have to find whatever passes for Chinese food in the country and eat it.
I probably have mentioned it before, but the only time I suffered from that was when I was in UK on a school trip. The salmon was over baked and dry, and they kept giving me fried fish and chips. I did try them with mash peas, and I'll say the taste is pretty unique.
Mushy peas, oh yes.

No hot pie for me (as in no opportunity for it =() Mushy peas are used as a fry dip in the UK, which is culturally odd to me, but tastes fine.

And I can't believe my colleague is bringing instant noodles for her driving vacation around Europe(Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Netherlands if they can pack the time). But according to her, food in Europe is very expensive(I agree on that), especially in Switzerland and there's only so much European food they can take.
Though I thought the point of a vacation was to spend money?
Stroopwafel addiction can get expensive. But otherwise, food is not really expensive here.

No, you mix the sour cream with some finely chopped canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce and you add some lime juice and cumin and some smoked red pepper and some other stuff.
On fish or shrimp tacos, it is awesome.

I'll be honest, as a European, I don't really get the 'White', 'Black' or '[insert colour here]' thing…
I mean, over here we got more shades of 'white' the your average colour-catalogue from the paint-shop.
(ie regionalism vs. ethnicity vs. nationalism vs. historical racial classification)

Also, second day at the breeders.
Meet and handled more of the breeding stock.
Learnt to work the different machinery, we use on the horses. Seriously they have massage-machines for most of the horses and three horse thread-mills…Damn luxury horses ^_^'
Had to repair a pen.
Talked to a pair of darling foals as I was patching up their mommies.
Sallow, but long, gash on mommy no 1's (Chandra, I think ^^') leg, though we can't really figure how she got it...So a washing in iodine, salving and a bandage.
Mommy no 2 (Errr I can't remember yet ^^') had dried out so much below fetlock joint (backside) the skin was breaking, so she's in for a couple weeks of salving.
Foals got a nuzzling ^^ (weren't that keen at first, but as mommies couldn't run away, they stayed around)
Gave the horses new straw and hay.
And a lot of sweeping.
All in all, an okay day :p
More people probably know George Foreman as the grill guy rather than a boxer.

The funniest sight in the world is my daughter shoveling horse crap with a manure rake bigger than she is. She needs a stepladder to groom him.

So I have a Rav4 Hybrid XLE now. That's a thing.
After you've had it for a little while, I want to hear how you like it... actual mileage and performance, not what the dealer says it's supposed to be, pros and cons, etc.
I like my little Civic hybrid a lot, but the mileage is, for a hybrid, pretty lousy, and it's not a good car for carrying anything (suitcases, a lot of groceries, bodies and bags of lime, etc.)

Former competition horses often do make for good introduction horses for young rider.All the training hours poured into them often means you get a horse that's attentive to your signals/commands and used to a bit of everything due to its experience.

Woran. You weren't here last year, when I was diagnosed with a Pituitary tumor. When I say "one of those headaches," I mean a tumor headache behind my right eye. If the air pressure drops low enough, the headache feels like a white-hot ice pick being driven behind my eye. The worst ones are completely debilitating, often making me want to curl up in a corner and almost wish for death. Non-prescription pain medicines don't work. But the headaches pass in a few hours, leaving me extremely tired. Oh, and I won't take narcotic pain meds for this, since I don't want to be an addict. For what it's worth.Pittsburgh's thunderstorm is starting to give me one of those headaches. :(Arg, I know how you feel. Good luck.
And to be fair Woran, most people would naturally assume migraines or a similar kind of headache (which totally suck, no doubt about that) with the language John uses for it. Don't feel bad for making that assumption because as John says, most of us knew what he was talking about without him having to spell it out every time.
