Pixar's next movie and their first attempt at the princess genre.

FL and yeah, mostly. He swears now that he liked it, but Magic Kingdom was a bit traumatic for the little one. Animal Kingdom was okay. And Hollywood Studios and Epcot were awesome. And he's told me about a hundred times now how he wishes there were a pool at home like the one at the hotel. :)

The trailer was so awesome....so hoping the actual movie doesn't end up sucking....but I'm not a huge fan of Pixar so I'm not holding my breath.

I know you're probably serious, but I really don't care for their films. Liked the first Toy Story. Could seriously do without the sequels. Cars was okay. Not gonna bother with the sequel which looks seriously awful. Monsters Inc was kinda watchable. The bug one...I wandered away sometime shortly after the opening credits. Wall-E....went to see it at the dollar theater and felt that was too much to pay. Seriously, the kidlet was just as bored as I was. And Up. Someday I may forgive them for Up. But that day is not today. I know people love Pixar. Everyone always tells me how awesome they are. And yet most of their films leaves me feeling bored and/or upset.

My wife is a HUGE Up fan, but I do feel the same way about most of their work. I still haven't seen Wall-E and I don't feel an overwhelming desire to do so. Toy Story is kinda meh, primarily because I don't care for those kinds of toys, although the last one where they focused on Ken looked really funny. But yeah, most Pixar stuff is subtly depressing or little happens. I really hated Robots.

Wow, I'm the exact opposite. They tell amazing, compelling stories and break out of the boring mold that pretty much every other animated movie falls into. I'd rather watch any of their movies, even the not so good ones like Bug's Life and Cars, over garbage like Shrek or Megamind any day.

REALLY? Cars? Over Shrek? Wow. A Bug's Life bored me to tears save for a giggle or two. Talk about different strokes for different folks.

Pixar did How to Train Your Dragon, right? Or was that Dreamworks?

Sovereign Court

I hated Shrek with it's snide humor, just one of those movies that was so over-hyped. And How to Train Your Dragon was Dreamworks. I liked that and Kung-Fu Panda.

To be fair, I can only take Shrek in doses. I have one friend who would watch it all day if she could, and is genuinely upset that Shrek is not real so she could marry him.

And yeah, I loved me some How to Train Your Dragon. Wasn't a huge fan of Kung Fu Panda, but it was funny.

Shrek was cute the first time....The first time only. And I'll just pretend those sequels don't exist. (Noticing a trend here? Not a huge fan of pointless sequels...)

How to Train Your Dragon was awesome. I can watch that all day. And it got the kidlet into reading the books which he loves. So extra bonus. :)

I like Kung Fu Panda. I'm planning to take the kidlet to see the sequel soon, probably on his actual birthday. Hopefully it doesn't suck...although I have a bad feeling. Sequels...usually not so great.

As a black man, this confuses the hell out of me. I'll never forget living in PA among white people en masse for the first time ever and the class recieved an entire day off to attend a lecture on the dangers of the sun, sunburn and skin peeling. The poor woman they brought in was completely at a loss as to what to do with me. I think I just put my head down or read a book or something.
Heh. Yeah, I can see how that would be confusing. Personally, I have pale skin that does not tan much at all and doesn't do that easily. If I can keep the sunburn from peeling, I get a little tan, but no such luck this time it would seem.

After getting a sunburn I may peel, but I get pretty tan. I've never really been in pain from a sunburn, though.

From the synopsis (and the image on Wikipedia) of Brave, it sorta reminds me of Terry Pratchett's newest series.

Also: MacGuffin? Hopefully they'll not ignore it.

I really liked the Incredibles and enjoyed Finding Nemo. The others I could pretty much take or leave. Haven't even seen a large number of them, actually.

But the Brave visuals look cool.

Let's see...Tangled, How to Train Your Dragon, Sinbad, Titan AE, Beauty and the Beast, The Last Unicorn, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan minus the annoying Eddie Murphy dragonish character, The Secret of Nimh. I'm probably missing one or two off of that list, but that gives you a pretty good idea. :)

Never had much love for the Toy Story franchise. Never watched Cars or A Bug's Life. I really like The Incredibles and liked Monsters, Inc. fairly well. Ratatouille and Finding Nemo were bearable. I liked the themes in Wall-E, but not so much the cutesiness. Up was kinda weird, but I didn't watch it the whole way through. I think they don't want to repeat themselves, so they make films that don't necessarily appeal to the same audience as before.
