SO I had the day off and figured I'd get caught up on FaWTL. For some reason I couldn't get online, and about ten minutes ago I realized the little satellite looking button was off. :S
I'm so ignorant when it comes to computers. :/
I have been paid to fix that so many times. ;) So at least you didn't pay someone to fix it for you.

Did you have to call Tech support to press the little button??

I pretty much gave up with my son's math teacher. My son has lost more math because of this teacher than he's learned. Meeting with her did nothing. I had to take it upon myself to teach him mathematics. Went from a 67% to a 90% as a result. What really bugs me though is that...
OMG. Tell the principal that the teacher is a moron and that your son will only be attending the math exams.
Get a copy of the curriculum, a copy of the teacher's schedule, teach him yourself....
(I was a teacher, the reason I am not now is -other teachers-.)

We had a charity BBQ last Sat at work. Boss man grilled up a bunch of burgers and hot dogs in the parking lot.
Limo Lunch in two weeks. Yummy yummy food that the big boss man pays for. I can almost stand listening to them sing our praises for the free surf and turf and sushi.

They are currently tied at two a piece. Back in Boston. They did not look so good Saturday from what I heard. Yet since I did not watch that must have been the reason they did not do well :) At leats I like to think so. Should be a good series but I think thye have a good chance to go to the Cup finals first time since I think 86 or so when they lost to that anazing Oilers team.
How are things going on the Cape? Ramping up for the summer season?

I know that, logically it only takes a little time and one can resume their preferred activity, but.......the little boy mind only fully understands NOW.
I get that, there is something I would rather be doing than making sure he washed his hair, but c'mon! Little boys stink! And I don't want to be the mom with teh stinky boy! :P

Yeah that (87-88) series was the actual last time I followed them
Yeah, a lot of kegs and college and Janney-Joyce-Neely SCORE! LOL Good times ..good times ....
Anyway, the Cape is ready. Been a cold and rainy few weekends, but we have our fingers crossed for Memorial day. I hav a feeling that we will benefit from higher prices, since we have a lot of folks relatively closeby who want more than a 'staycation' this year but no big bucks.
Plus, the Canadian dollar is riding high, eh? Polish up the high-school French and make way for the Kaybeckers!

I taught Math for two years and am a math major, so this isn't all that bad for me. Part of the problem is the curriculum. There are/were Review sections that "reviewed" stuff that hadn't been covered at all previously. I'm glad that at least I can whip out examples and such at the drop of a hat. I feel really bad for any other parents. The further problem is that I strongly think that this teacher is the one that pushed for this curriculum.

::crashes his copper-scaled draconic butt back in the thread::
That's absolutely asinine! Poor Bryce. That's one of those situations that would prompt me to make a very direct and directive phonecall to the principal, demanding an interview with that particular person.
Backlash for demanding that your child get the attention and specific educational benefits he needs to succeed? It'd better not be...just remind them that his academic success is directly tied to their job performance...school administrators AND teachers...by LAW! (Whether you agree with the NCLB laws or not, it's leverage in this case.)
If she's just too much of a b***h to demonstrate patience and self control when presented with a child who obviously has special needs, then she needs to be ... calibrated.
Sorry...this riled me up. Some people need a kick in the teeth.
If only. Alas, she and the principal think alike on these matters. And they're being pissy cause we make them do their job and go over their heads to get things done when we have to. It's especially sad because these people can not only overshadow but often undo a lot of the good done by those educators he interacts with who really do go above and beyond to help him and would be able to do their jobs better if the administrators would get out of the way.
In other words, yes, some people need a kick in the teeth. :)| Sharoth |

Oh, I hate teachers like that. Bryce's kindergarten teacher was like that. It was like I was home schooling only I also had to argue with the school all the time. It's so much not right when they take credit for doing their job when you had to do it for them. :(

Never read it. It looks interesting. I'll have to add that to my list of things to read....make that my list of things to read over the summer. I have enough rage against the school system already. :)

Sorry to hear about your school problems lynora. My son is only in preschool and we are already having dramas with lack of communication with the school, issues with staff, weirdness on behalf of the department of education, etc ... I am not looking forward to the next thirteen or so years in that regard!

We have a lot of books.
Even not counting my gaming books (which I refuse to part with), there's a lot. I took out 3 boxes full to donate to the library and the bookcase still looks full.
I don't know what you are talking about...
(...As I sheepishly hide the 9 6-foot bookshelves and the 4 4-foot bookshelves that are full -- some 2 deep.)
