I am editing the latest work that was sent to me, eating some rice and beans made by my wife, and drinking a combination of rums with a splash of seltzer.
Life, while not exactly good, is a bit more than tolerable at the moment.
Cool. :)
Remember. If you think it can't get any worse you lack imagination. ;)

And why did I forget to set my alarm? It was weird. I was doing some late night cleaning while waiting for our house guest to get home from work. So around 1030 I get ready to go to bed, when suddenly some of the downstairs lights go out. Not all of them, mind you, just some.
So, since the breaker box is outside and it was late, I grabbed my Taurus and a flashlight and went outside to check. Sure enough, two breakers had flipped.
Not sure if they did so for some odd reason, or because someone flipped them. That last is probably my paranoia showing, but I'd rather be paranoid and safe than dead.
Anyway, in all that excitement, I forgot to set the alarm on my phone, as I usually do when I'm going to bed.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't our to get you. ;)

I must shop for lawn mowers, so good night all!
Take care!
Speaking of, I've been pricing a specific pair of clippers for grooming purposes. It's a little over a hundred bucks, but the t-outliner I have currently isn't really made for heads and I'm starting to really need a regular trimming instead of constant shaving to give my scalp a bit of a break.

Diane got me a Whal (sp?) beard trimmer for Father's day. It has been awesome, and I think it was pretty economical. Any decent screen electric shaver might work well.

I will be in that dark corner brooding over games I can't get...
~grins~ I feel your pain. Between being broke and all the games I have yet to play, I just looked at the sale and then closed out the GOG page.
Edit - on the plus side, this is the third (or fourth?) time that a sale like this has happened on GOG. That helps when I want to spend some money on games I will not play ANYTIME soon.

Screen electric razors don't work very well for black men. There's a funky line out there put out by Andis initially and copied by many others that uses a gold-tone screen to combat razor bumps in addition to ingrown hairs supposedly, but they do nothing for me in the slightest- hair is too thick. I did find ONE exception to the rule though, which is interestingly enough from Germany, put out by Braun. It's this weird little double a battery powered wet/dry razor with a funky-shaped screen(hexagonal instead of circular) with holes large enough to let in my thick hairs when first trimmed by my plug-in outliner. I use that on rare occasion when my skin is VERY sensitive before I break out the drop-razor/butterfly razor, but even that one is starting to show it's age- I think I need a new razor for it as I've had it for several years- it more "polishes" my hairs instead of cutting them, which still makes them easier to pick up by the handle razor. Wahl is an okay company overall, and they occasionally have a rechargable razor with multiple heads that's good, but the problem with rechargables I find is that they get weaker as the years go on- I need a good, wall plug-in electric razor for the sheer power it offers for my nubian/kushite/whatever hair. I'm looking at the andis fade master- sworn upon by black barbers for years, and used in concert with an outliner or edger.

It sounds like you needed a night of good sleep. And, I am sorry the breakers popped.

Morning one and all. Hope everyone has a good day today, and is doing well in general. The overcloud has returned to us, sheltering us from the terrible heat of the sky fire. Jury's still out on whether it will drown us for our insolence of enjoying its absence. Either way, Thursday! The weekend approaches. I hope the rest of the everyone's work week is smooth and swift.

Game night tonight. Wasn't on last week, GM was on holidays, so we're all looking forward to it.
Wait, where were we again? When did we get home? What's going on? O.o
So, we'll see how that goes. :P

Dad is also out of the hospital and in intense rehab after more than 6 weeks mostly in ICU and IMCU.
Glad your Dad is moving in the right direction. Best of luck to him.

Here's my completed project. Thanks again LordSynos and MagusJanus for your assistance.
Aura strong conjuration, evocation, transmutation; CL 18th
Slot weapon; Weight 3 lbs.
DESCRIPTION
Rose of Charon is a +4 adaptive fierce-undead-bane ghost-touch composite longbow or shortbow, freely changing size to suit its holder’s physique, proficiency, and preference. Carved of ancient black wood, its shape is angular and erratic, and thorns still grow freely on the surface of the bow, save around the grip. Black roses grow along its curve every morning, one per day, to a maximum of five; once there are five, one withers away each night and regrows in the morning. It has a random (1d6-1) number of roses present when found.
When used against undead, Rose of Charon possesses a positive burst enhancement; this functions as flaming burst, but deals positive energy damage instead of fire.
While held or carried, Rose of Charon imparts a +2 sacred bonus to AC and saving throws against attacks made or effects created by undead creatures.
Five times per day, the wielder may add the disruption enhancement (DC 23) to Rose of Charon for one round, despite not being a bludgeoning melee weapon.
On command as a free action five times per day, Rose of Charon can transform an arrow into a piercing rose. This does not affect the arrow’s damage, accuracy, or range. When the arrow strikes a creature, it explodes into a mass of thorny vines and rose bushes, which then attempt to grapple, then pin, the struck target. The vines’ CMB is equal to the wielder’s attack bonus with Rose of Charon on the attack roll just used, and their CMD is equal to that amount +18; it is treated otherwise as a medium creature. A grappled or pinned target takes 2d6 points of piercing damage from the thorns each round it is grappled or pinned, and if the arrow used possessed a necessary trait to pierce DR (a particular metal, an alignment-based enhancement, etc.), the vines also possess that trait. The vines last 18 rounds, until the target breaks free, or until the wielder dismisses them.
Both the disruption effect and the piercing rose can be activated again once all five uses are used by spending a Mythic Point.
One of Rose of Charon’s roses can be pulled free and placed on the corpse of a corporeal creature or undead. The rose immediately takes root into the corpse, where it provides a permanent gentle repose and sanctify corpse until removed or destroyed.
Alternatively, the rose can be attached to an arrow and fired; where it lands, a wall of thorns immediately grows, shaped as the wielder desires. This wall is tougher than normal: it functions at caster level 18, its damage is based at 40 minus AC rather than 25, Strength checks to move through the wall must pass 30 rather than 20, and it is immune to fire. In addition, undead caught within the wall take damage every round even if they remain still, and undead within 10 feet of the wall are attacked by thorn- and rose-studded vines; these vines have an attack bonus equal to the wielder’s BAB +10, a reach of 10 feet, only attack undead, deal 2d6 piercing and 2d6 bludgeoning damage, and are considered magical for purposes of damage reduction. For every undead that dies inside the wall or within the reach of the vines, the wielder may expand the wall by ten feet in a direction of their choice.
Finally, by expending two Mythic Points or one Mythic Point and one of the bow’s roses, the wielder can fire a single rose-arrow charged with an overwhelming amount of positive energy. If the arrow strikes a corporeal undead creature or other entity vulnerable to positive energy, it suffers the effects of a destruction spell (DC 23); should it be destroyed by this damage, a rose bush vaguely in the shape of the creature is left in its place; by spending another Mythic Point, the wielder can animate this bush as a loyal servant (treat as an Alraune of an alignment matching the wielder’s that lasts for 18 minutes before rooting itself again and becoming inanimate, and serves the wielder unfailingly). If the target is a living creature who is not vulnerable to positive energy, the arrow itself deals no damage and delivers a heal spell. This effect destroys the body but not the soul of an undead creature who is capable of surviving for a time without its body, such as a vampire, lich, or ravener.
If wielded by an undead creature, Rose of Charon immediately attempts to free itself. It drops its adaptive ability to zero, immediately wilts all its roses, and inflicts three negative levels on the undead wielder. In addition, every round it has a 50% chance of activating its disruption effect targeting the undead wielder, attempting to destroy it.
All of Rose of Charon’s spell-like effects function at caster level 18.
DESTRUCTION
Rose of Charon must be willingly used by a good wielder in the defense of an undead creature against Druids who are trying to destroy the undead. When this occurs, Rose of Charon explodes in a burst of blazing light and rose petals; this burst deals 18d10 fire, 18d10 divine, 18d10 piercing, and 18d10 slashing damage in a 60-foot burst centered on the wielder. All creatures caught in the burst may attempt a DC 23 Reflex save to take half damage, except the wielder, who receives no save. Any Druids in the burst area are unharmed.

Next weeks we drive into NOLA to christen the princess. When we did this for the boy, we had a party afterwards. Sadly, it doesn't look like that's going to be the case this time around. I have not had time to plan or work anything out. I could still pull something off, but with just over a week to go, I'm not sure how many people would respond.

So, we'll see how that goes. :P
I love that game, and particularly the referenced race, so bloody much. I've been thinking about replaying it again, now that all the DLC is out, particularly after one of the producers was quoted as saying "you may want to hold on to those save files" for the next game in the ME universe.

I am a recent convert to mass effect myself, as I got a 360 about a year or two after it was really big. But I was able to sit down and play allllllllllllll of mass effect back to back to back and it's awesome. I have some pics of asari and quarian cosplayers I took at a con several years ago and only now do I appreciate it.
I love the asari bartender in 2. I LOVE HER. LOVE HER. LOVE HER.

FaWTL action figures. He even has six out of seven of the Freehold DMs; he's just lacking the very rare Six Million Dollar Black Dynamite version with Bionic Grip feature.
(It was recalled immediately after uptight parents discovered it made the clothes on the Jaime Sommers figure automatically fall off.) ;)
