We know. We are all just surprised that Her Majesty's Loyal Subject From Colonies (You are Canadian, right?) needs to have visa to do so when we, Uncouth Eastern Europe Foreigners can come, settle and even work without any such complex paperwork.

Hence all the horrid political stuff with the EU & the UK.
But it's tricky for non-EU residents to work/live over here, whilst I'm sure it is going to the US (even for holiday's).

So. This day wasn't so incredibly awful. Doom Came To Dustpawn with friends both old(baronaremhashevaum) and new(everyone else there). A PM from even more supportive friends. And I just edited one more piece for my publisher. I have one more to go and then the anthology is complete!!!! I'm excited about something for the first time in a while. But I've got to go get some sleep so I can get ready for work tomorrow. That might be a trial as I missed Friday to deal with the obvious, but I'm actually looking forward to chopping down the very thick tree that is my caseload a bit.
Things are still strained, but with support like this, sharp pain is turning into a dull, if insistent, ache.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy (but painful) Monday! Still very, very sore from Saturday, but huge props to Tordek and his son for helping out with the move. I gave then mead.
So we're in the house now. Everything's a mess, and I'm still getting s!&& out of the old house, but it's coming along well. There's some differences. Lots more space. And the upstairs bathrooms are going to necessitate some changes to how we store towels, give kids baths, etc. but so far everything is going well.

The one bummer thing, which we just found out about last night - dishwasher doesn't work. Either they forgot to hook the power up to it, or the switch that cuts the power to it is bad, or the dishwasher itself is fubar. We'll see. I told the wife to give the folks who sold the house a call, get there happy asses in there, and fix that s##$.

Got my Wayfinder submission accepted - the 100% acceptance rate still stands. :-D
Also good to hear.
I'm working on something that I was going to post in a semi popular topic. If it comes out the way I'm thinking it might, it might be too large for a post here and I may submit it to Wayfinder instead. Here's hoping I don't go over(or under) board.

I understand the stickiness with the Visa situation. They want to make sure you're not a layabout who is coming over to collect public funds. But in my case I have thoroughly proven that is not the case. They have my full employment history, they have my husbands full employment history. They have my husbands letter of offer from the company he is going to work for including wage. They have proof we are not in a greencard marriage with a marriage license going back 4 and half years ago + leases that go back even further with both our names on it. So I think all will be fine, but even so this is stressful.

*grumble-grumble*
When I went for my second break I found my locker to be opened and single pound that was in my backpack missing - the padlock and locker itself are very crappy. In fact the locker can be opened with a bit of manipulation without taking the padlock off.
I reported that to security. They promised to check CCTV.
When I returned home I found that I have some spare change in pocket of the other trousers (we need to wear work-provided clothing at work, without pockets). It is possible that I freaked out seeing opened locker and it wasn't actual robbery - stupid joke or just crappy locker opening due to someone accidentally bumping into it or something.

It snowed today. Snow. In the middle of April. I know there are places where such a thing is not uncommon, but I don't live in any of those places. Normally I would blame Freehold for this, but I feel like mixing things up. Therefore, I blame YOU, Orthos. You are the one responsible, and I shall never forgive you for this climatical heresy.
