I just moved to eastern China, and if figured that PbP game would be an excellent way to stave of gaming withdrawal. I've tried my hand at a few of them before, and I really enjoyed them - those ones didn't quite last due to a combination of diving into too many too quickly and me preparing for my move to the orient, and to those GMs who were running them, I apologize for my disappearance. In any case, I'm getting settled here now, and would love to join a campaign if there are any open. I can commit to at least a couple of post today (depending on how active the other players are - I don't want to shove myself into the spotlight when no one else is posting), and on many days (especially over the next week and a half) I will able to do plenty more.
Alternatively, I might be persuaded to run a PbP myself, so long as the players understand that the GM update may be coming at weird hours. I just procured the last few adventures of the Rise of the Runelords adventure path, and I'm dying to run it for somebody. If that should be the case, I'd like to run a game with 4 or 5 players.
So please let me know if any of you have any openings in your games, or if you'd be interested in RotRL, and I'll see what happens from there.

Well that's weird. I can't see my OP, but I can see the subsequent one. Well, I'll just try again.
In a nutshell, I just moved to China, and was thinking that a PbP game would be an ideal way to prevent gaming withdrawal. I've tried my hand at a few before and really enjoyed them, but the timing was bad, and I ended up dropping out due to a combination of preparations for my move to China and diving into to too many at once - I offer my apologies to the GMs who ran them for my disappearance. In any case, I'm nearly settled in over here now, and would love to find a PbP game with an opening. I can easily commit to one or two posts each day, and when I'm not working, I should be able to do more.
Also, I'm going to be running the Rise of the Runelords AP here with some friends soon, but some of them are being a little flaky about it, so I've really only got 2 confirmed players. If the others have bucked up within the next few days, I'll open a recruitment thread here to find 2 or 3 more players, so those interested should keep a wary eye out.

Oh hey, someone in the same timezone as me. Thats rare.
Just one question...why play by post? Why not just get a group together and do some sessions over IRC or something similar? You can get a LOT more done in 2-3 hours than PBP.
I would invite you to join our pathfinder game(1 pm GMT+8 saturdays), but i just got word that the DM might have to drop out due to his recently changed working schedule, so we are still discussing what to do about that...

That actually sounds likes a pretty cool idea. I'd be willing to run a RotRL for east asia (especially since the few teachers who game here are leaving soon). Any suggestions on ideal programs through which to run it? If we do this, though, I may not be able to commit to a specific time each week, because I think my schedule shifts regularly, and I will often be working on weekends, but I'll know more. I don't have anything I've got to do for the next week or so what with Spring Festival and all.

Try out gametable.
| Question |
Well, I tried downloading game table, but I can't get it to run - a window just flashes briefly on my screen before closing. Any alternatives?
Do you have java installed?
Have you actually installed gametable yet, or are you having problems getting it to install?
If you have installed it, go to start->programs->osu_gt.exe.
Also try restarting your PC.

Well, I got the game table to work, but I'm having some trouble navigating it. I'm still all for doing a game, but I'm not too tech savvy in all honesty, and I'm probably not the best person to GM a game via one of these programs.
If someone else were to run one, I'd be willing to learn it that way, and I'd still be willing to GM a PbP. I could do Rise of the Runelords or Curse of the Crimson Throne.

Hi - Currently in Guangzhou for the next few months... shoot me a line.
Heck even shoot me a line even if you just need some fellow gamer out there to correspond with. I've been working in China for 4 years now and largely missed out on RPGs (last few months in Dalian I was lucky to find a boardgame group)

Hi..
What a lucky day I found this post. I'm in Indonesia that is GMT +7, and would like to join as well if there's any campaign online either by IRC, Fantasty ground or any other means..dying to play in here..
Hi there,
Apology to OP as I don't mean to derail the thread, but I just want to mention to Saeter that we've a group playing in Jakarta, Indonesia. Please email me, joesys [at] yahoo [dot] com to find out more.
Thanks,
