Is there anyway to make this at all effective?
I was thinking of making a rogue who specialized in throwing daggers (custom weapon, using the exact same stats as darts), however after throwing his first dagger, he really doesn't get sneak attack after he's been noticed...
Are there any feats to make this more viable? Apparently "Gang up" doesn't work with ranged weapons (BOO! lol) or am I stuck with my first shot = great success, and every other shot after (Unless I make a next to impossible stealth check at lower levels for sniping) useless?
Thanks guys!

I think that many of the ranged attack feats will work, Precise shot, far shot and many shot would be 3 that i look at. Weapon focus & weapon finesse are also good. Also later the improved critical feat will help.
Anatomist or killer are good traits to look at.Other than that, feats to improve flanking bonuses or working on the Dodge feat path so you can get in and out quick.
As far as sneak attack goes, look for ways to deny your opponent his dexterity bonus. such as the surprise attack rogue talent.
I'm just figuring out many of these things too and it seems there are a lot of hidden opportunities if you look hard enough.

Two Weapon Figthing, and surprised attack(talent)
and the bst for a rogue its to flank her opponent, because every time he attack flkanking her opponet deals sneak attack,
but if you want to deal more damage in a surprise round i recommend
*two weapong F.
*point blank shoot
*surprised attack ( talen in advanced players guide)

It will never match a melee two weapon fighting rogue, but it can be pretty good. Important things to note, you MUST go first, if you go before someone they are flatfooted and thus every dagger you throw will have sneak attack. Also, you need quickdraw. Check with your dm if you can rapid shot with thrown weapons and quickdraw. I would allow it, some may take the fact that the wording of the feat uses the word 'fire' to say no.

Kill the enemy in the first round. = P
Funny you should mention this.
Recently played an Elf Rogue (Scout Archetype) in a one-shot adventure, and almost every shot I released was a fatality.
Longbow + Decent Str + Point Blank Shot + Deadly Aim + Flat-Footed enemy = dead enemy, for the most part.
Moral of the story: Don't skimp on strength, max out Stealth & Perception, and carry as big a bow as you can.

I might play a ranged rogue soon (depending on what the party does with my monk when they find out his Dark Secret), and have written it up.
I used Scout and Sniper archetypes from APG.
No, the damage output won't get near that of a rogue with two weapons, but I think it can be a nice and fun concept.

Oracle 1/Sniper Rogue 19
Mystery: Waves
Revelation: Water Sight
Spells Known: Obscuring Mist, Whatever
Take all the normal ranged archer feats.
Round 1: Cast Obscuring Mist
Round 2+: Shoot everyone inside your Sniper range. Sneak attack for every attack.
Want to break into a place w/o being seen? Obscuring Mist. Smoke Stick. Horn of Fog (not so sneaky!)

That's ridiculous! I love it!

Quick question to the OP, since I am actually putting together a character like what was suggested, a sneaky skills character that specializes in throwing weapons. Does it have to be a rogue? Can you use 3rd party stuff?
The supergenius Shadow Assasin.
It is a rogueish class (skills and sneaky but no trap finding and no sneak attack) that has 2 class abilities in particular that help with dudes who chuck sharp things. The Shadow Style "Shuriken Style" makes shurikens a viable weapon all on their own (crazy i know) and actually makes them GOOD when two weapon fighting. I dont see why you cant shift this to darts with a little help or flavor shurikens as kunai (small throwing knives). There is also daggermaster which gives a bonus to attack and damage with light weapons and shuriken. My 10th level shadow assasin also uses the two weapon fighting style, so i can wield 2 light weapons for an AC bonus (from two weapon style) and an attack and damage bonus from dagger master, or i can two weapon throw shuriken for a considerable bonus to damage with each shuriken. It takes a little building but the moment you get shuriken style, those thrown weapons actually mean something.
