Roll or take the average rounded up.
d10 this is 6
d8 this is 5
d6 this is 4

Congratulations guys, you just earned the spot of being the one RP on the entire internet I am not dropping out of due to time constraints, feel privileged. :P
Seriously though, you guys are awesome.
HK will take the average of 6, his second level bonus feat will be toughness since droids don't get con, plus all the usual mechanical blah.

Huzzah!
BTW If I have not mentioned it before this is NaNoWriMo or 'National Novel Writing Month' which I have participated in and completed the last three years. Going for year four with the goal of 50,000 words. The hard part is that this year I only have the sketchiest of idea of what I am writing where in other years I have had a full out line at this point.
Happy Halloween to all and wish me luck.
PS: And I am still keeping this game going along with my other game commitments.

Hey, I'm honored. (Though it might have been in spite of my contribution, but whatev.)
Also, Smerg, can you help me verify my xp total. I think I've added up what you gave out correctly, but i'm not sure if i counted something twice.

correct.

Do you want to handle all that behind the scenes?
I'm up for whatever, just let me know. Also, i'll try to have my level up soon.

Don't bother with 'Bluff' rolls.
1> The rules usually say that PCs don't have to respect the rolls anyways which makes it pretty difficult in game to enforce if I have to say to someone that X is running a bluff on you; so, you must do action B.
2> Just do things and say things. If a player asks me for some information then I'll ask them to give me a roll. If they don't ask then I won't tell (boy, I feel like I'm in the military ;> ).
3> If you do something with people around that is going to have a chance for people to spot something then I'll likely ask for a general Perception check of the group.
BTW: When you 'wake up' you will be able to see Harry. I'll let you stew on that bit of information till you 'wake up'.

Smerg |

Just a reminder folks.
I like enthusiasm and I like it when people are posting as it keeps the action rolling.
Just make sure to give a certain amount of time for other people to also read, react, and post. There is no hard and fast rule to 'a certain amount of time' but a good guideline is checking to see if a few other people have also posted after your last post.
I don't want people to feel they got 'left out' because too many posts occurred before they had a chance to read and react.

HK-33 |

In a manner of speaking, an electroshock probe from a tool kit deals d8 ion damage, but you'd suffer -5 to attack because it's not designed to be a weapon. Unfortunately there are no actual weapons rules as written, but I've house ruled an 'ion baton' into my games in the past, which is essentially a stun baton with ion instead of stun,.

Smerg |

There are ion settings on ranged weapons. There are shokk gloves that melee people use for fighting. I have no problem with there being an Ion Baton that does Ion damage when you touch something with it.
There is likely some of them in the arsenal to deal with droids going crazy (though most times I would prefer to keep my distance and shoot the droid but I'm that kind of guy). If Gol chooses to pick up one the quarter master wouldn't stop him.

I have a question. Search Your Feelings application of UtF says you can get an impression of the implications of something immediate - "in teh next 10 minutes" or so. Can I burn a force point or something to get a greater image of the implications of doing nothing and letting the army we just watched pour off Red Valkyrie (nto to mention what's in the box) do what they came to do?
This seems like kind of a pivotal character-developing decision to me.

I'm going to need to appeal to some of the GMs in the group with more knowledge of Jedi force powers. They can tell me if there is an actual 'Force Power or Talent' that does this greater vision.
Luke Skywalker in 'The Empire Strikes Back' was able during meditation to be a Jedi Knight achieve glimpses of a future that was many days or weeks in the future. The flip side of that would be in game terms, it was a 'vehicle' to get the group back together. The information was also 'promoted' by Vader and the Emperor who were 'aiding' in the formation and passing along of the visions of the future. Yoda himself couldn't answer Luke's question on what the out come would be.

HK-33 |

Eh, mechanically that's what the vision talents are for really, of course I do whatever the hell I like with the Force and my players as far as story goes, but that's just because the Force is one big plot device.
On another note: I will get a post up soon which should affect your decision based on my super secret HK info. *nods to Smerg* ;)

![]() |

Then I'll wait for that!
As for the force question I posed. Im mostly looking for the greater ramifications (even if it's just an emotional response) if we let the troops (and the mystery monster box) do as tey please with all these innocents on the station. If it's a no-go, that's fine. It felt cinematic to have some form of force-induced, nearly overwhelming reaction to what we are potentially about to do.
But i don't want to stretch believability or something, either.

Smerg |

Well, I had asked for a hold so the new information that HK had could be posted to the thread.
That was three big chunks of info and the two chunks put a 'spin' on the campaign. The first chunk was mostly expected with the mission outline. I'm sure the part that HK has been holding back on the video with Kol would have been as fully expected. It fits with some prior stuff that people have gotten in flash backs but it is a game changer.
It can take a bit for people to read and decide how they want to proceed with the 'new' material since they now have options that they didn't have before.
You are offering a third option which is more to consider.
I think it will be interesting to see what people decide to do.

Smerg |

Yeah, I did my share of backyard fights when I was a kid too. I never thought of filming it much less doing the Special Effects.

Okay, so can you just 'space' the compartment.
Simple answer is, it should be possible.
The more complicated answer is what would be required to set something like that up.
Most systems like this have the same basic life protection protocols that all droids but class 4 droids have. You would be asking an intelligent computer system to do something that it is programed not to do.
You would need to first upgrade your access on the system to helpful. (This can take several rounds at least if you have the pass codes and longer without them).
You would then need to disable the circuits that prevent the computer from doing an action that it detects as being harmful to life. (This takes usually ten minutes).
This done, you can issue the command to drop the force field to the bay for fast explosive decompression. You could also lower the air pressure more slowly over several rounds but I figure you want to do it as fast as possible.
People in the area will have 2 to 3 rounds to take actions to protect themselves from the Vacuum (each round it is a 1d20+20 Fort check or suffer a -2 steps on condition track). This could be rushing inside the ship or they may have some sort of breather (many types of armour have some protection against Vacuum if only temporary).
Use computer is not the only way, you could set charges with Mechanics skill but the people inside would still have the 2 to 3 rounds to get some sort of protection. If you are at the point of setting explosives for decompression it is really only a bit more explosive to sweep the whole area in explosives.

So, around 11 minutes of slicing work if everything goes well?
The bigger question is whether this tactic will still do the bulk of our work for us after 11 minutes of these guys organizing (and possibly heading out to their respective assignments). I guess we could try to run interference and try to sew some chaos, slowing down their deployment.
Did I miss any other options?

Smerg |

Okay, what do people want?
1> Do you want to RetCon some of the story? Are there too many bits of plot and do you want to drop some elements of the story?
2> Do you want me to just move the story to the next battle point?
3> Do you want me to do a re-cap?
I'm going to be intermittent for internet starting Tuesday for roughly a week as I'm traveling for American Thanksgiving. I should be good again the following week.

I'm happy with where we are. I haven't posted much to give others (who appear unable to post very frequently) a chance to have as much game impact as me. Plus, there seemed a chance fo some of the more socially-geared characters to have a moment to shine. Kidd stepping up right now might kill us all before someone could salvage it... We all remember the little incident in the spike train thingy, right?

Kol DyThrand |

No, this is fine. It's just this kind of unbearable pressure; what do I do? What if I screw up and betray [info] to bad guys? What if they realize we're enemies and my face/actions/glance told them? [curls up and bites fingernails]
