Haven't seen the Woodman at all today, anywhere. Doesn't he know he's supposed to tell us where he's going and what time to expect him home? He knows how we worry.
I'm a bit under the weather, which no big deal. But my CPAP machine has a nose-only mask, so it doesn't work when I'm congested. I slept about 20 minutes last night. Hoping nasal spray will give me a partial night's sleep tonight, woot.
I think you gave me your cold via the Internet, somehow.
EDIT: Contagion for TotP!

Poor Treppa. She's so sick she's wearing her slippers on her head and robe on her feet. :/
I hope you get to feeling better soon darlin'. Seems us FAWTLers have been having a rough go as of late.

After reading that thread I'm actually surprised that there's a lot of gamers who don't use miniatures with 3d terrain, and 3d dungeon pieces like I do. I've been struggling to get to that point mind you, my minis collection is up to that level but I only have enough of the dwarvenforge stuff to make classic dungeon sites. I'm saving up to get a crapload of the cavern set soon as well. I also by some of the warhammer stuff and convert it. I try my hardest to make everything come to life. No one else does this? I mean seriously?
Me neither, I don't get it. It isn't like people have to sell off 90% of their D&D collection to buy diapers and pay some bills. How can you enjoy the game if you do that, right?

Interesting... my mother actually nicknamed me Pushkin when I was a few months old. Why the namesake you didn't ask? Well let me tell you. My boss is looking for an estimate that may not show up. Through no fault of my own, of course. The contractor is waiting on some answers from one of their affiliates.
However, on the good side, my latest order from Paizo should arrive today. I took advantage of that huge sale they were having to pick up the CC3: Symbol Set #1 for $2.49.

Yeah, I've been considering cutting back as well. Maybe not in the subscriptions department (at least until after Serpent's Skull), but maybe in the amount of other stuff - chronicles, rulebooks, modules.
I've also begun cutting back on the comics that I buy - cut out Marvel completely, and am going to review the DC stuff I get.
Edit: and NO MORE MINIS!!

What a rollercoaster ride. After a few brief frantic conversations with my friend in SC, it turns out that her mother will probably let her borrow her car to pick me up from the airport and drive me to my dad. There is still a chance things could go wrong, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed and researching buses and cabs and other forms of transportation. Things always go wrong when one is getting ready for a vacation...
Nothing else big happened yesterday though. I went out to dinner with a friend I had been neglecting. The sushi was quite good. I'm also struggling with a writing block(note- the first I wrote that I typoed "writing blog". HA!) with the Paladins for my campaign setting, but that's about it. I'm thumbing through War of the River Kings and it's making me salivate to run Kingmaker when I have the chance.
Ah well. That's it for me. I'm gonna go do some shopping and driving around for work, so see people when I get back.

Here's BrickLink, a site where you can find used mini-figs no longer in production by Lego too.
The awesome thing about this is that I got back into Legos. And, let me tell you, they've come a LONG way since I was a kid. The Castles/Kingdoms sets have a ton of great stuff for D&D (although dwarves/orcs only appear in Castles, which is on hiatus right now), and the sets are terrific for the games too. The Troll Warship comes with a dragon and most of the weapons & such work just like they should.
And, the best part for Gamers w/ Kids is that you can claim you're buying them for the kids!! :P

The major problem I'm running into, is I find many young gamers (I use that term liberally I"M an old 26 year old) have problems visualizing things. So I went the crapload of minis, 3d terrain, and 3d dungeon route and it's helped a lot. Problem is if I use the dry erase mat my players get bored. So now I got drop another $500 per set to just get enough pieces to make a dungeon /sigh. And just so people know I work 2 jobs to afford this (I secretly think it's evolved into obsession or addiction mode).

LOL! I was running and Diane (my SO) was running her sorceress. At one point this group has had 4 ladies and 1 guy playing, and his half orc has a fairly low charisma. Our Saturday adult group is cool.

Players in our adult game run from their twenties to fifties. So figs and a battle mat work fine, but when I was running a kids game 3D props were a much bigger deal.

Thats just the trend around here, I play with people 19- 25. For some reason even the bloody social interactions are needing the minis. Yeah you heard me the social interactions.... Now I'm doing my best to find commoner minis and such (if the commoners look like heroes it looks ridiculous) and like I said my 3d dungeon collection is growing. If I'm lucky when I move to Glasgow I can find an older group.

I should have said "playing her sorceress".
EDIT: The quotes are acting all weird.

            Lots of stuff:
And then last night we took the kidlet to see Despicable Me. Dan hated it, but Bryce and I thought it was hilarious.
Going to go talk to a guidance counselor this afternoon so I can hopefully register for classes tonight. And my appointment for the financial aid counseling is early Monday morning. So I should be able to have that all resolved by the end of Monday.
And I'm still waiting for news about Dan's job. It's driving him absolutely nuts. Me too. His boss utterly sucks. Aside from being made of pure evil, she's infamous for procrastinating when it comes to actually having to interact with people. :/

Well, it was good to see Treppa, briefly.
Jeremy? Obsessive? No way. ;-)
