We have made some progress in that area. It turns out that we may qualify for a State program to help us quit, man when I think of all the money we, literally, burn every week it makes me cringe. I suspected that might be the case from recent posts. It's a bit of a catch 22. It's all but impossible for just one partner to quit, although my Dad quit decades before Mom did. On the other hand it's it's a real bear to go through withdrawals at the same time. I wish you both the best of luck with this.

Our experience was considerably different. We forgot that it was picture day and he went to school with an old-school Star Wars t-shirt. We got the proofs and hung our heads in shame. The pictures were so good -- except for the corny picture on the shirt. We called the photographer and he photoshopped the picture to make it a blank t-shirt. THAT's customer service.

This bites, but I'm not surprised. I hate the public schools in my district with a passion. Fortunately Diane is in a position to home school her grand daughters, but I have basically abandoned hope for most public schools. I really fret for my grand kids who aren't in school yet.

We had such a great time at Owlcon this year that we have decided to go to the big show. I would have loved to go to Paizocon this year, but it doesn't work with the boys summer school plans.
That's awesome! Family trip to GenCon. I doubt if I'll make it this year, but next year I plan on doing both PaizoCon and GenCon.
Hubby made a yummy dinner! I now has a full belly, my headache is starting to dissipate, and I am home home home!

Unless there was a specific shade of blue specified, yes, I would really want them to explain this to you ... and apologise and find a way to make it right. I really hate this sort of officious bullshit. Really, who does it hurt if one or more kids have a different shade of shirt.
I went to schools where wearing a uniform was mandatory (fairly standard here in Australia) and we frequently had school photos where kids were wearing the wrong shade, or wearing their sports uniform instead of the normal one, or the winter uniform instead of the summer one, or non-standard pieces or just not in uniform at all ... and I don’t remember anyone being excluded from a school photograph because of it (though I think there were a few detentions handed out for people not wearing uniform).
I feel like some of my former students must work at Arden's school. :(

Koto is pretty cool to watch someone play - especially songs where they retune it in the middle! I had a friend in Japan that took traditional dancing lessons, and she had a friend on the koto and shakuhachi while she danced as a performance for my mother and aunt and me when they visited. It was very cool!
