Finished Marble Hornets. The first "season" at least.
It says something that, even with the missteps, these no-budget YouTube videos are more effective examples of horror fiction than almost everything horror related to make it to the big screen this year. That is if you're willing to accept the torture-porn Hollywood has been shelling out as horror.
Also, @#$% you Entry #26.

Which one got ya? ;)
I think this is where I flipped my $#!%. Somewhere around there.
See I so shouldn't have seen that. Stupid ability to be scared easily.

Lame!
What, the psuedo-urban legend that was started on a thread in Something Awful about a thing that kills anyone who knows about(including people who read about it on the internet), the story of a film crew that catches it's attention, or the story about some people on Youtube who (in story) decide to get some memetic attention by slipping Slenderman into their videos until they attract the attention of the real thing? We really need to be certain about this.
(I really need to get around to watching Everyman HYBRID. In the morning.)

This is certainly creepy. Wonder why The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone, Night Gallery or Tales from the Darkside never did a story based on this character.
It's a rather new character, and mostly an internet meme.
But... Sweet Jesus and Merciful Buddha those vids are creepy. Some of the best horror in I don't know how long.

Blairwitch/Nomads rehash. It does not elicit any response other than boredom.

Just don't watch Marble Yellowjackets or it'll ruin the entire thing for you. ;)

Everyman HYBRID had one hell of an update today. "Cops Checked, No Body".
And it turns out that it has an expanded universe of sorts: Can You See The Words, a Tumblr blog by an art student who lives in the same area as the HYBRID characters. She's also a friend of Jeff's currently disappeared girlfriend....
I'm really thinking Everyman HYBRID-verse is my favorite take on this so far.

I really want a Paizo statted out Slender Man.
It should be a monster that no party ever, ever wants to actually fight. Unstoppable ability to render people insane with a touch attack. Crazy displacement. Shadow jumping. Immense SR. Immediate action to shadow jump if taken under half HP. Ability to render magic and mechanical items useless within 100 foot. Slow movement speed. Teleport without error. No treasure.

Well, it's not quite that bad, but here's a good stab at it.

...Given their record of pulling from urban legends, I'm hoping the Paizo folks have been following the Slender Man Mythos as well. Of course there's no way anyone could satisfy everyone with a statted version of it.
I really want a Paizo statted out Slender Man...
Well, it's not by Paizo, but there's one in Along the Faerie Path by Allen Talesin, Chris Correll, and SupaStah! Mike Welham. Plus, three other critters!

That was actually one of the selling points for me on that product. :D
It really is quite good, for those looking for new fey material for their games.

Better question.
Who the hell cares?
I've seen this thing pop up everywhere, and it's getting tiresome.
The Slenderman's becoming an overused joke, a tedious meme, and so on. At least for me.

Oh yes, a "screw you players" monster, what a magnificent idea. (/sarcasm)
Perhaps you haven't heard of the old saying "if you stat it, they will kill it" before? Because I'd say it applies.

Could tie in nicely with the spacial warping going on here and there.

Though it didn't make it through editing in UR, I namedropped the Slender Man as either a type of Devourer varient, or as one of the entities whispering to them. Don't recall a ton at the moment as to which it was.

I find this a bit silly. Think about the Slender Man's typical prey- normal, everyday people. Most of them are probably not even level 2, let alone level 5, which represents approximately the limit of real life humanity. Pathfinder characters go up to level 20 and at that point are pretty much demigods. Why should a creature who is menacing towards regular joes necessarilly be a threat to high-level Pathfinder characters?

I always kind of thought they were inspired by the painting "The Scream," myself.

Wow, there's so many ornery players getting huffy about the 'The Monster That Must Not Be Fought' suggestion.
Do they hate the idea? Or are they just...
BUCK! BUCK!
CHICKEN? :)
Golden-esque's Book of Slenderotica was awesome. I heartily endorse that write-up and the idea that the combat rules can be applied towards Escape rather than Victory. Although that may be difficult when your foe can dimension door that much.

I think I wrote somewhere in that book that running away wasn't going to be easy. >: )

Not easy at all.
I want to start a petition to have you write a high tier module for Pathfinder Society using the Book of Slender rules.
It would honestly be the most ball-raising, Wayfinder-malfunctioning, fingernail-chewing, excruciatingly nightmarish high tier scenario for the campaign possible. It'd generate so much buzz. Tier 10-11, of course.
Would you be keen?

Either way that's some of the nastiest company one could keep in this setting...
(I think I prefer him in the whispering role in that case)

Why would a creature that is menacing to high level characters never go after folks with just one NPC level?
There are motives aplenty, especially if it's a being that gets off on spreading fear/pain/madness. If that's even the Slender Man's goal.
That's the other tricky thing. Can't help but feel if you nail down and quantify the Slender Man stats and goals, it loses a lot of the mystique that makes him effective. Then again, taking an ambiguous approach and playing off of the core concept, taking different aspects and applying them to Maybe Slender Men and keeping the possibilities wide open... Of course keeping things ambiguous doesn't work for everyone either.
It's just a tricky figure to work with in game form I guess. :)

If I wanted monsters that needed to be escaped from, I'd be playing Call of Cthulhu instead of Pathfinder.
Sometimes, the mechanics will NOT support certain intentions. Statting up the Slenderman also means someone WILL kill it.

Because it's an inside joke from Somethingawful, and all of those shows ended years or decades before it was created.
