Season 2 will be have adventures that involve the "Shadow Lodge" a mysterious group that has it's goal of suplanting the leadership of the Pathfinder Society.
Some of the "Shadow Lodge" adventues have already been released. Check out the City of Strangers part 1 & 2, and Eyes of the Ten part 1 & 2.

Season 1 ends at the end of June with 4 scenarios, July is the off month, and then August gets 4 scenarios. So I'm guessing that this month you'll see previews of season 2 scenarios go up on the page for the August and beyond adventures

Season 2 starts with the August scenarios.
Season 1 ends with the July scenarios.
The plot line for season 2 started creeping into the Tier 12 scenarios in April and with the lower-level scenarios in June. I don't want the seasons to feel like walled-off plot lines, so there will likely be some blending between them.
Also, with season 2, we're changing the naming convention. I should have the next few months up soon and you'll see them numbered thusly:
Season#-Scenario#
So August will be 2-01, 2-02, 2-03, and 2-04 and Season 2 will run through 2-28 and then start Season 3 with 3-01.

I'm going to chime in with somehting regarding Season 2.
If you keep using Paizo's Map Packs and Flip Mats in the scenarios like you have been doing reecently, I for one will be a very happy GM for it.
As a subscriber, I frequently forget I have some of these. Using them in the scenarios means I have a ready excuse to whip them out.
Good going!

+1. As a PFS DM at Paizo con, this was very helpful.

Wow sounds like a great time to make a switch to something like say, 4 mods to a level.

As an artistically challenged GM, I love it when flip maps are used. However, after seeing the kewl maps drawn by Kyle, Roger, & Doug at Origins, I still want some custom maps so I can continue to gaze upon their awesomeness.

How scenarios are named/numbered and how wealth is distributed within them are two totally different things. Were the XP threshold for leveling increased, PCs playing in the proper sub-tier in the first 56 scenarios would end up with 33% more wealth than they should have. So to change something like that would require 56 scenarios to be rewritten to accomodate the slower wealth curve or be retired. Neither option is ideal.

I have been doing this and shall continue to do this. :-)
For #51 and #52, I wanted to see if I could make a fully-functioning campaign arc using only map packs and Flip-Mats and the answer was "yes!"
So the more of them we put out, the more I'll find places to put them.

I'll add to what Mark said:
I can only change the rate of advancement by retiring EVERYTHING before that point.
And that's not going to happen.
Also, I like the rate of advancement. It let's new people feel like they've accomplished something in just a weekend of play. Accomplishment leads to happiness. Happiness leads to more playing. More playing leads to ... awesome cosmic power?

I have known for quite some time that Josh is my nemesis. Run, I will not, however, for without darkness there can be no light. Fleeing from the shadow only gives it more room to spread. I have plans in the works now to ensure that his evil plans do not come to fruition.

Hold on a sec, Mark, I think you have it backwards. If Yoda ate your head and Yoda is considered a "good guy", then that makes you a "bad guy" and Josh a "good guy" since he is your nemesis? Something is wrong in this world. ;-)

I don't suppose you could release a list with which scenarios are tied to specific flip mats? Then I could start planning on filling in my flip mat library based on upcoming events or get events based on my flipmat library.

Agreed with that. That being said, hopefully you will reuse maps between scenarios. I'd hate to have to buy a map per scenario, which would significantly add to cost.

Someone has a list (Darkwhite, DougDoug, or the PFSRDcrew maybe?) might want to do a search on it - I'm at work so can't do that right now

Because you know... you don't have enough to do ;)
Maybe just add in the scenario descriptions for new scenarios "This scenario uses the XXX flip map". I understand that retroactively doing this would be a huge Job.

According to one module, the Shadow Lodge believes that the Decemvirate is too slow to react to things, too plodding. Am I the only one who agrees, in principle, with the Shadow Lodge's assertion? So far, we've only seen evil-aligned Shadow Lodge memebers, but we haven't seen anything so far that suggests that they're all bad guys, have we?

This is getting very close to spoiler territory. So let's be careful there.
The opening salvos of the war are going to be nasty, of course, on both sides. They're going to send operatives against the Society, and the Society will send loyal pathfinders out to kill Shadow Lodge agents. My question is, if the hidden masters of the Shadow Lodge prove victorious, and establish the Society as under their own control, is it the case that the Society will move more energetically towards the same ends, providing a more vigorous challenge for the Aspis Consortium.
People have said before that the Pathfinder's aren't really like Indiana Jones; we're more like Belloq. Are the masters of the Shadow Lodge really that much worse?
| Joshua J. Frost |
As for the Aspis Consortium, should the SL win, they're not interested in competing--they'll wipe the AC off the map and then use the Society's spoils in the various Lodges around Golarion to attempt to conquer the world. That seems rather villainous to me. The SL plot is just getting started, though, so let's not go out of our way to criticize it when their season hasn't even started yet. ;-)
Regardless, Chris, I like the feedback. So thanks. :-)

Thumbs up on this naming scheme.

If the topic of this thread is potential ideas for Season 2, I thought I would throw some out.
1) More "spiritual sequels" - The smaller, two-part story arcs allow for a great afternoon at the FLGS... and gives us organizers the ability to fill two tables easier, usually the same players twice!
2) More 5-9 tier scenarios - Looking at Season 1, in comparison to Season 0, there were WAY more 7-11 than 5-9. With the rate of attrition on PCs, the need for more 5-9 scenarios is a most; so that players have a chance to reach those higher level tiers. Add in the retirement of Season 0 scenarios, and even the 1-5 and 1-7 tier scenarios start looking thin.
That's what I have for now...

Actually we did! Lack of scenarios, active GMs, and a general discontent with the quality resulted in a prolonged hiatus. In three weeks Ropecon starts and I intend to run at least two PFS scenarios.
Maybe Season 2 will revivify the scene. Regardlessly the lack of GMs will make it rather slow. :(
