I have returned!

Sounds like a strange evening, CrimJ. Glad everyone's okay, and no actual tornadoes.

Hmmmm. I have a whole evening free. I should probably clean or something. But I think I'll watch a movie instead. :)

Were you bored or did you just catch it afterwards?

It was probably passive-aggressive behavior, venting due to admin and students. Why do they both have to be enemies?

Well there were several just not one here. At least not yet, we are not out of the woods yet, so to speak. The warnings are until 2 am CST. sigh lack of sleep makes tomorrow a long day.

That being said I did well at work, so well they gave me money and we are getting a 4 hour limo lunch tomorrow. I work only half a day but get paid for a full day. I love my job some days. :)

Ah, that's okay then. Seems the prices are better on the web. :)

Now if he's sitting on Iron Kingdoms hardcovers, then no question - I'll take 'em. :)

I will check on the Iron Kingdom books. I doubt that he has any.

BTW .... for a dragon reputed to have a huge RPG hoard .... I'm kind of surprised you don't have a lot of the 3.x books...

~wicked chuckle~ Oh, I have a nice collection, but I started it 5 years ago and most of the stuff was only bought in the last two years or so. However, there are so many 3.x stuff out there that it is real hard to get them all. I will bring my list of my RPG stuff with me so you can see just what I have.

You mean you don't have 2e .... and 1e....?

What were you doing prior to five years ago?

I've still got many of my old 2E books. I keep most of themin plastic containers down in my basement. I've done the same with a good many of my 3.5 books and all my 3.0 books.

My 2e and 1e books are also down in the basement in plastic containers. The majority of my 3.x books are in them as well, but temporarily out in the garage until we get around to completing the work on the floor in the den.

I rather understated things. It was pretty bad. We shall see whether there is any long-term fallout. It was either the boss trying to reassert herself after being out on maternity leave, or they're working out how to get rid of me.

That's an unhappy start. Hope your day improves, CH.

Having trouble waking up. Need to have coffee so I can be sure I do all my exit stuff correctly today.

I'm actually in a surprisingly good mood. This is going to sound terrible, but, while losing my job would suck, there would be something cathartic about never coming back here again. I'm sure reality would set in a few days later...

Yeah... destruction can feel real good at the time.

Ugh. Bad morning. Kidlet woke up screaming at 3. Ended up tucking him in bed with me which meant I didn't really sleep. He got all disoriented and cranky this morning because he got woke up by my alarm. Then we had scary bad drive to school on flooded roads in really heavy rain. Got him there only ten minutes late which was a serious accomplishment. Made doctor appt for this afternoon since I am now quite sick. Probably a sinus infection.

I really hope the rest of you are having a better day than I am.

CH, I hope that things work out okay for you with the whole work thing.

Hope you feel better soon, Lynora.

I've had a couple female mgrs in my career, including the one now. The 1st one was good, but the current one feels the need to assert herself from time to time. We studied this in my BA classes.

Example - She hires a summer architectural intern for a project. IT has hardware issues and we don't have an extra CAD license. Her solution? The intern can use my computer, though I return to work Monday. (Should I be worried?) When I point out the obvious flaw she doesn't react well.

Sympathies for you. Us.

Being married and giving up or loosing my 1st and 2nd collection. I have reaquired a small 1e and 2e collection.

I gave away and sold most of my 1e/2e collection over the course of 2008-9. It was just taking up too much space and getting too little use to justify my keeping it. I felt a few paper gems and lots of electronic back-up were all I needed.

Change the cherry coke to Cherry RC and you have the breakfast of rednecks.

Gooooooooood morning Fawlty Towers!!!

I've been spending so much time juggling the first job with the second job and gaming and writing and everything I'm starting to feel like a responsible adult or something...It gives me the willies!!! But hopefully everything will work out. I should be able to move at least one of my work engagements for a Ptolus-Saturday off so we can play that day, but I don't know if I'll be able to move both of them all so we can play all night long. I've also spoken to the girls regarding the Darklight Sisterhood game, which looks like it might be able to be moved, so I'll revel in Panamanians of African Descent festivities with mom and wife. I'll take pics if we go.

Tonight is a Rise of the Runelords night- we will find out what our talented DM will be doing now that the nutso rogue/monk burned down the wooden sailboat fortress of the goblins, but I"m sure it'll be quite a ride.

Lynora, please get well soon. Hopefully you'll be able to get a nap in sometime today that will give your body a chance to recover a bit.

Hey, Lynora, have you ever tried (spoilered for grossness)

Spoiler:
a sinus rinse? I got one in desperation after years of a chronic sinus infection that no doc seemed to be able to cure long-term, and it was gone within two weeks. It also seems to help some for allergies.
Just a thought.

My wife regularly uses a netty(?) pot - kinda like a little teapot, fill it with warm water, mix in this weird part-salt compound, pour in one nostril and let it drain out the other. It helps.

The kit I have uses Bisodium carbonate.

Netti Pot. Yup. My lil lady loves that stuff. It annoys me, but I resort to it if I'm desperate.

Same here. I'd rather not use it unless I've exhausted every other avenue.

And with that, folks, its time to go back to work. Be back later.
