Confession:
I haven't been following the Playtests at all.
But I thought I would jump in and run a test in my current campaign. I just want to do it, report the results, and call it good. This is not a knock against anybody, I just haven't wanted to debate about how the mechanics should work..
So.. my question..
Do I just need the Summoner Playtest PDF and incorporate Jason's stickied Update-Summoner thread?
Nothing else? If there are other changes that have been incorporated, that would be handy to know. Or stuff you think I should know...
Thanks!

If you want to play-test the Summoner, make one character without the "temporary updates", and the make one with them. No other changes have been made.
Try to find a monster from your favorite show/movie/non-DnD game that you'd like to have in a DnD game, and make it. You can have a lot of fun making and playing the Eidolon that way.
Ignore any thread that involves the words "If the Eidolons does this..." Most of them are a hypothical situation involving misinterpertation of the rules, and the assumption that the Eidolon has +5 weapons and armor.
The Eidolon can solo the Tarassque is one such (now locked)thread.

I would use the updates in your playtest. That is important because it is essentially what jason is currently asking us to playtest. He already recognized certain things needed changes, and we need to give him feedback on those changes.
Next and most important. Look at the rules and the fluff, and make a summoner the way you would make one for your game. If you make something you would never play, whether its not your style or you dont like the fluff, that is not a good playtest. Make something you would actually want to play, and play it. Then come back here and tell what you found.
