Everyone keeps saying that the alchemist iconic is an elf, but I think he's distinctly half-elven, myself. His ears don't go quite as high as a full-blooded elf, and I can almost make out some variation within his eyes instead of them being a solid color. Not that I mind either way, I'm just curious as to which he really is.

The alchemist is an elf. Note how dark his eyes are—not being able to see the whites of an eye is a full-blooded elf thing. His ears are about the right length... maybe on the shorter end for an elf, but he's got taller hair than Merisiel for one. And half-elves generally have ears that are more like vulcan ears... much shorter than the alchemist's.
ANYway; yah. He's an elf.
Unless Wayne paints his eyes to look like a half elf, that is. We'll see in a while.

Thanks for the love towards the half-orc people Paizo. :)
Badass lookin' too.
Well, given that we got seven humans and no half-orc in the original twelve, it's only fair.
(I still say one of the humans should have been a half-orc, maybe Sajan the Monk.)

None of the PrC examples have names, though, and aren't real iconics. So this is the first half-orc iconic. The only PrC iconic is Seltyiel, who represents all PrCs (or so the line's been before).
I'd love to see backgrounds for all the PrC examples, though, as I think they'd go a long way to describing how the various archetypes fit into Golarion. We haven't really seen or heard anything about arcane tricksters, non-Red Mantis assassins, dragon disciples, and shadowdancers, for example. And the art is already done. They just need names and short back-stories and they're set!

While the illos for the prestige classes are cool... they're not iconic characters. With the obvious exception of Seltyiel, who's basically the iconic multiclass character.
Part of the power and purpose for an iconic is that they're not diluted by number. By limiting our iconics to ONLY base classes and core classes, we limit those numbers.

So... it's been officially stated now that the APG is considered 'core'?

It's still more than enough for those orc lovers...
Sure, I'd love to see more stuff about the non-iconic [I won't engage in annoying paradoxical phrases out of consideration for Jacobs] PrC characters, to whatever extend that would be judged to not tread on iconic toes.
Psst, Vagrant Poet: want one of my medals?
