Why so Callous, Jack...no that didn't come out right...Why the grumbly mumblies?

Sigh... just stressed as the finances grow tighter. Probably the same story for everyone. And then to hear certain people b*tch and moan because they had to sell their jet-ski or couldn't go on their annual trip to DisneyWorld... boo frickin' hoo.

Good afternoon, everyone! I'm feeling better today.
Glad you hear it, taig. I get blue in January and February as I think the season drags on me.

I can definitely see that. I think the holidays and the now-annual layoffs (even though I'm not directly affected, I get "survivor's guilt") cause me extra anxiety. So I'm kinda blue during January and February, but in November and December I'm really affected. Luckily my wife is very understanding. It took about 15 years to get there, and it still causes problems for us, but it's a lot better.

I hope things don't get too bad for you during the winter months, though.

Thanks taig, I hope you do better too.

And I agree about the holidays! The travel, the money spent, the families who want to see you even though the in-laws take precedence that year; it gets miserable sometimes. My wife supports me for the most part and lets me rant a bit to get stuff out of my system but she does think I'm too much of a worrywart/pessimist (I see myself as just pragmatic).

CJ, that is sad. (EDIT: Chocolate allergy)

I have trouble with the winter blues, but only since my mom died (four years ago today.) All hail to the woman who on her way home from the pharmacy one day when I was sick at home, had stopped by the toy store to see if there was something that might cheer me up. What was in that bag?

Toys'R'Us bag:
A magenta-colored box with a Dragon on it.

Thanks! I had never heard of D&D at that point, and neither had she. As I opened it, she said, "That looked like something you would like." She was one wise woman.

My mom bought me my first Dragon magazine thinking it had something to do with the Grenadier miniatures I was collecting at the time.

No, it had a luckless thief opening a treasure chest and a liquid metal dragon was coming out of it.

Hello! {watches him ride past on Invisible Bike}

Taig: I hope you are feeling the blues less this season. Thanks again for the SupaStah suggestions. I tweaked and retweaked it a lot, and just this afternoon thought of a (hopefully) much better name for it. Then I started having second thoughts about entering... so I submitted the final version before I could completely chicken out. I am much relieved that its out of my hands now.

Crimson Jester: I hope you and your family have a very Happy Holidays despite your loss, and remember only the good times with your mom.

Moorluck: Thanks for the visual pick-me-up!

Lynora: Hope you got some rest and your dinner tonight turns out better. I'm having meatloaf myself: kinda bland, but hard for even me to screw up.

Thursday's temp makes me want to hibernate, high of 13 with a low of -7 F

I'd ask to look at the final result, but I'll see it when it's part of the top 32. ;)

Good luck! I really liked your item.

I'll be working on mine this week, so I might be imposing on you this weekend, then I'll let mine sit for another week.

Man, four pages just from a five-hour shopping trip? You guys are MACHINES!

We'll see. I seriously doubt I'll make it that far, and I'm a little freaked out about the possibility of coming up with any final challenges.

Impose away! I've got my other nephew's b-day party for a few hours Saturday afternoon, but otherwise I should be wide open.

I'm more psyched about you (or another SoFaWTL'er) making it to the Top 32 than I am. Good luck to all who enter. :)

Congrats!

When you post, you'll see a "BBCode tags you can use" and behind the spoiler, it shows all the commands. If you haven't seen that already, that is. :)

Thanks for letting me share that with you guys.

I have used some of these on other boards. Are those within the spoiler the only ones available? :-(
