Ok; post your views; pilot is out; I liked it; as most shows it is a bit shaky as people learn their parts and figure out how to make the story work; but I think it has a lot to build on and good characters and I like the archtypes; I am gonna watch it; of course, that probably means it will be well written decent so to cerebral for the common man and get cancelled.

I watched the encore showing on friday, and I must say I liked it. Pilots are always a bit shaky, but it has potential. The only bad thing about friday was that Eureaka has been put to the firday night death slot time. Well that was a good show while it lasted.
Actually, Friday is Scifi's flagship slot. So that's probably a good thing for it.

Yeah, I agree with you there, but remember it is SyFy now. I am really tentative about this fall's lineup but I will have to see how the Stargate Universe series does,

For a pilot, I thought it was pretty good, but not great. If it gets better once they hit their stride, then I think I'll enjoy the show. I was not impressed by their comic relief character who stayed at the warehouse - he wasn't that funny to me.
I also think they over did how big the warehouse was.

Things I liked.
1) I never noticed how much CCH Pounder looks like Amanda Waller. Made me laugh.
2) I like the 'guy back at the warehouse' but then I like the actor. His deadpan delivery was great.
3) The Tesla gun, the little communicators, the edisonmobile, the keyboard for the warehouse's computer... ahhhhh, steampunk :-)
4) The ferret. I'm so stealing that.
5) The plot. It sounds so big government. "We know they're dangerous, we know this good neutralizes them (most of the time) we don't know how to use them, so we'll lock them up." It's Friday the 13th (the series) + X-files + the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
6) Character development. We know she's not a Scully.

A little too much comic relief for my taste. I liked the pilot and hope the series does well, but I also hope it takes itself just a little more seriously

Actually, it seems more like an almost direct interpretation of Bureau 13. (Bureau 13 is a very old, obscure RPG that I think influeanced all those sources people have been mentioning. It predates Friday the 13th: The Series by 5 years or so. I'm not sure, but I suspect the creators saw the end of Raiders and thought, 'Hmmmm, now how does the government get all those boxes of... stuff?', And made a game.)
Anyway, good show. Look forward to watching it.

Matthew Morris wrote:That reminds me, the explanation of it mentioned short term memory loss, but when it was used in the climax, that didn't seem to happen.
3) The Tesla gun
That might be the explanation of how the mind control was broken (she doesn't "remember" having looked at the glowing McGuffin) but it could also depend on how short term: she might not remember being shot, but probably could remember that she was coming around on the flank.

"We pulled that out of the Bermuda Triangle a couple years ago...and the Triangle has been trying to pull it back ever since."
Well-written dialogue. I hope that it can evolve beyond the Friday the 13th Series "evil artifact of the week" framework.

I dont think they over did the size of the warehouse; see if you follow me on this; Remember Indiana Jones; the original where he turned the arc over to the government; I am thinking that this show Warehouse 13; is a spin off of that scene; where they show the Arc in a box in a totally huge Warehouse; well; it is 50 years later; they need a bigger warehouse.
anybody think I am close to guess how this got started?
hehe I totally missed the X-Files teamwork; if any, as Indiana Jones had his girl in it to; I do like the dichotomy of a right brain and left brain team; empathy and logic; sounds like it could be good; I like the "guy back at the warehouse" also; I think he is perfect; just squirrly enough and really sold me the part. I loved how the part where he was explaining the picture; especially when he says "and that guy is missing, I'll find him someday" Things to come; woot.
"I also think they over did how big the warehouse was. "

The plot of the series sounds good, the pilot episode had some good moments but also some lackluster moments as well. All in all on a 1 out of 10? It deserves a 5, mind you I liked the pilot, but it needed some work here & there.
My gripe isn't the premise of the show actually it's the delivery. I mean this isn't exactly new. I actually had finished watching Poltergeist: The Legacy on Chiller network before I tuned in Warehouse 13.
I'm just saying that like Poltergeist, it has a good idea and plot. It just needs to refine a few things and it could be even better.

So, after three episodes this show is quickly making a downward slide on my viewing list. The purple slime is a bit too gimicky. Scenes like the ping-pong table that opened episode 2 are just lame.
It certainly is no X-files and even Friday the 13th: The Series managed to take it's self seriously. Not saying that was a super great show, but it was better than W13.
The frusterating thing is, I like the actors. I like the characters. I even got past my inital dislike of the old dude in the warehouse. But the writers need to be drug out in the street and shot. Repeatedly. This could have been a great show, but it's just too hokey to be taken at all seriously.

Well, different strokes and all that.
For the record, I don't watch sit-coms at all and you'd have to twist my arm or bribe me to sit through a comedy film. So, what's working for you is a bit of a turn off for me. At least I have Caprica to look forward to.
"I sentence you to be hanged by the neck, until you cheer up!" ;-p

I'm enjoying the show! It reminds me of a cross between X-files and Indiana Jones. I like the chemistry between the two leads. The male lead reminds me of a poor man's Booth from Bones. Kinda funny guy. The female is all stuffy, but we get to start seeing some more sides of her.
I enjoy the supporting cast and so far the plot with the hacker has been interesting. It's decent tv. I don't need deep intense tv all the time. I can take it for what it is.

Valegrim |

I too am interested in this "superhacker"; not to sure what to think about the two SS agents. The part about them not asking the questions they are assigned to asked bothers me quite a bit and their lack of dialogue about why they should ask the questions; I for one would like to hear more of the questions; seems to me they got a few hits with the questions they did ask back in the first episode.

I kinda like the show, good popcorn watching. The superhacker angle I see as a way to introduce another character, a young punk-type computer guy of some sort. It just seems to have that vibe to me, like they are going to 'enlist' him into the Warehouse 13 team.
I think its just a way to introduce a reoccuring villain - a young woman with a grudge (from the preview for tomorrows show).

I'm getting really annoyed that neither agent seems to remember they're armed with a non-leathal weapon. It's way to convienent for the plot that they forget to tesla gun people instead of getting into fist fights or letting people fall off of churches, etc.
Also, I'm getting annoyed that they seem to act like deer in the headlights every time someone asks why the secret service is investigating? Either transfer them to the FBI, and let them use those badges instead, or have them come up with a believable cover story that they can use. Supposedly they're good agents which is why they were recruited, but they just seem awkward during the investigations.
Also, how come they get all the weird stares every time they use their steampunk phones? There's nothing that strange there other than the design when compared to a modern cell phone with video playback capabilities. Most of the time it seems that they're being looked at like they've grown an extra head when they're talking into those.

Just got around to watching it. I stand by my guess, with the punky computer person being enlisted into Warehouse 13, now that she found out so much about it saving her brother.

Hahaha... Not fair. I have a sense of humor. It's just not exactly in line with the masses. :-/
Still watching. I'm enjoying it in spite of it's many 'cute' bits. Haven't had time to watch last weeks though. Sounds like I need to.

Personally I'm enjoying the development with Pete. e learn a little more about him each episode. We now know that his father died, he has a deaf sister, and that he has been attending AA for eight years. His character grows with each episode. Micah on the other hand, well lets just say we learned most everything about her on the first episode.

I am still watching it, but I have to say they are really letting Myka down character-wise. The actress playing her has range, Plot spoiler ahead:

The actress playing her has range, Plot spoiler ahead: ** spoiler omitted ** But most series' first seasons are rough, the question is will it make the cut to season 2? Also, whoever scores the show does a very good job. I like the song choices. Even heard a bit of Portishead in one intro scene.
That one's still on my DVR, and I'll record this week's Friday but yeah, I think she's the most under developed character.
I like Claudia. I think her and Artie have good Chemstry.

So, I fell behind in watching this until last night. Watched two episodes back to back and was saddened that I didn't have time to watch a third.
I'm liking it more and more. It still has funny bits without really feeling like it's laughing at it's self. I currently have a very solid liking for W13.

Darkwolf |

Hm, Watched the season finale last night. It was interesting, but Jeez. The thing with Artie... I have to admit, I went from not really liking the character at the start of the season to being a bit upset with the way things ended. Although I'm sure things are not as they seem. Not saying more, because I'm too lazy to spoiler tag it. ;-P

Still getting caught up, but I like that they aren't going into historical babble with every item.
Every time they pull out the Tesla, they don't explain who Tesla was, or the Farnsworth for that matter. We don't need exposition of who Lewis Carrol was, or Studio 54, or Shelby Bulbs.
Well I have to disagree. I like the idea, because it disguises education a fun. My kids watch th show with me, and while may know who they are talking about, my kids don't. I like that they are getting educated without knowing it.

Sorry, that was my point. One of the things I didn't like about the LXG movie is they half-assed the backgrounds. Either tell the viewer who these people are or assume they know and use the time for something important.

After watching the first season, I have decided this show is not really that good. I do't undestand why this is the highest rated show SyFy has ever had.

Vorbis |

All in all I liked the show, but it has some serious holes. My major problem is the Tesla, they have it, it's non-lethal, induces short term memory loss, but is never used.
Remember when they were caught by the other SS agents? Perfect time to use the Tesla. Basically while the characters are interesting, the writing FAILS.
At least one character should take charge and not just stand around while the bad guy chatters on.
