"Long ago there was a god of light and compassion. Like his other brethren he breathed life into the barren world. But soon he became jealous of his brothers and sister, and their creations.

While roaming the vast realms of the gods, he found what was supposed to remain hidden... The Shard. The Shard contained oure evil and hatred. Emotions left over from the worlds creation. The Shard called to the godling "Take me it whispered". The god stole the Shard from it's hiding place and fleed to the realms below. As he ran, the Shard warped and broke his body. Transforming the god into something... else.

It was when the god reached the elemental planes that the Shard instructed the god, in his madness, to plant it. Planting the Shard deep into chaos the god began to shape his own creations. Twisted and foul reflections of his brethrens world.

The gods, discovering the theft of the shard, began the fight to recover the Shard and seal away their former brothers madness. Entering the mad gods realm the gods found they couldn't come near their brother. His madness was catching. Those that did were twisted into madness and sent barrelling back into brethren.

Unable to confront the mad god on there own the gods created seven heroes. The heroes marched deep into mad gods abyss and confronted him. After a long grueling battle, that saw two fo the heores fall and one descend into madness, the heroes imprisoned the mad god. Chained and bound in realm seperate for our own the gods madness faded. The heroes were charged from that day on to be the protectors of the world. If the god were to ever shatter his bounds, he would no doubt destroy reality.

To this day those heroes watch over the gods prison. Protecting each and everyone of us."

The halfling woman closest the large story book and kisses her two charges heads. "That's enough for tonight time for sleep."

I'm looking for 6 players who'd like to try playing through my latest pbp. This a sequel to my past Essense of Evil pbp.

Level: 1
Character Generation: Point Buy
Starting gold: 100gp
Character background: The game will be starting in the town Fallcrest. The kicker... your characters will be playing children in the town
Rolls done on invisiblecastle

If you have any question please let me know

1)Pat - Half-Orc Rogue

Yesssss!

Striker!

Details, man, details -- it's been 3 minutes :-)

Ah, should've let you edit ;-)

Questions:

The standard 22 points? Are there any WotC sources that are *not* available for building?

More specific:

Are we fully-fledged first-level characters? What age group are we (adjusted for race)? Are you doing background abilities?

I think that's everything . . .

Thanks.

I'm very interested as well, though I don't want to call a race or class until Pat's questions are answered, since I'd ask them all myself.

Same, I'm also very interested

Very interested. Waiting for details and an OK that I'm in!

Standard 22 point. As long as I have it your free to use it. So Monks are a go.

Full-fledged, yes. Though I was toying with this forever. The age I was thinking for the children was between 10-16 years old.

While I do require my characters to have a background. The Background option from the PHB2 will not be used.

Oh and for Rev, yes 4e.

Unfortunately, due to both time constraints and the fact that I don't have any 4E sourcebooks, I don't think I'll be able to participate. Good luck, and I'm looking forward to trolling the thread.

Happy gaming!

Excellent, thank you. Kronag will be with you shortly. Does anyone know of good source material on Fallcrest beyond what's in DMG1? I tend not to read Dragon, so I may have missed something there.

The only information I've seen available on Fallcrest is in the DMG.

I'm gonna run with a shifter druid and lean heavily on the beast powers. I'll do my best to have a sheet and background up in the next day :)

Kronag will be a melee rogue (ruthless ruffian). Capable of dishing out a lot of damage -- taking it, not so much.

(I've observed that in 4E melee strikers tend to have glass jaws . . .)

If anyones interested it running a Warlock you may replace Eldritch Blast with Eldricth Stike if you're interested.

Sorry to see you go Sully.

Players so far

1)Pat - Half-Orc Rogue
2)Amelia - Shifter Druid
3)Tieren -
4)
5)
6)

Lol, changing my mind on the druid. She keeps coming out too Whiteclaw'y :)

So, I'm back to the drawing board, with quite a few ideas percolating. Not defender though, that much is certain :)

I'm interested. Idea coming soon. EDIT: A Sorcerer perhaps?

Just checking, this wouldn't happen to be the game based from Essence of Evil, would it?

Presented for approval (or scorn, he's used to it!)

Me Likes! The background is awesome, plus the use of Disheartening Stike, Rattling and Termination Threat.

Cool, thanks! I tried to give you a lot of hooks :-).

>Is a huge fan of hooks in backgrounds<

Ok, my new choice: Human Shaman, and you can lock this one in, no more changing my mind :)

Sheet and background soon!

Scarab Sages

Is there still any openings in this game? If so I am interested. Thinking of either Tiefling Wizard or Human Fighter.

Well, here's what I have so far: a Halfling Wild Sorcerer, background being written soon.

EDIT: Any idea what I should spend my remaining 98 gold on?

Hi Laz, if you have room for another player I would really like to give this a go. I've never done pbp before but have been lurking on other game threads for a while and like what I see.

I have had a little experience with ftf 4e so not a complete noob.

As to character I was thinking maybe 1/2 elf wizard, orphan taken in at the local magic school since aged 6(l'd like to try the summoner variation from arcane might but not sure if you have books otherwise any sort would do.

So far, I see among the volunteers (assuming without justification that it's first-come):

Kronag (Pat) -- melee striker
(Amelia) -- leader
(Tieren?)
Corrin Halfmoon (Davi) -- ranged striker
(Mordulin) -- controller or defender
(Bacchreus) -- controller

Right?

Just having a look through character builder and summoner looks a bit more complicated than i'd like my first time so since we're short a defender I can switch to that if you like. still 1/2 elf, but now a fighter (nice simple start) if thats ok

Heh. You're right about summoner, and some builds are more complex than others, but I wager you'll find even fighters somewhere above "nice simple." :-) I don't mean anything personal, it's just a fact of 4E.

(I'm certainly not here to tell you what to play; I'm just looking at the patterns. Normally, I'm the first to volunteer to fill a gap, but I've had my eye on this build for some time!)

Working on the character now

Lareth Shierhand: Fighter (guardian)

now to work out how to do aliases. Is there an easy way to port over your character from ddi character builder into the alias or is it best to do it manually?

To do an alias, go to "My Account." In the center-left column, under Messageboard Settings, you'll find a place to add an alias. Once you've done so, there will be an "Edit" button for the alias. The only things this button lets you edit are avatar/picture and (until you've posted 10 times) name. Actually click on the alias name (on your "my account" page) to get to a profile page, which is where most of us put our character sheets.

DDI Character Builder can print out a page with summary data for plain-text, but it's not that helpful for game-play. Do you have a DDI subscription (i.e., full Compendium access)? What I do is cut-and-paste the power blocks from Compendium and then do light editing, since Character Builder doesn't let you cut the power cards. Everything else I do by hand.

Hope that helps.

Well this is what i've done so far. Still slowly converting the stats to a more pleasing form. I'm heading off for some RPGA gaming soon so I will flesh out the background overnight.

I'm got my shaman done up stat wise in the character builder, and am working on her background and should get it all up tomorrow.

Looking good so far. Can't wait to see the background.

On what to spend your remaining gold on... no clue. Anything you really have as characters are things that have been passed down, earned (miliitary/arcane training), stolen, whatnot. So anything that fits your character and nothing says you have to spend it. Perhaps your characters have just been saving up on found coins or allowance.

Looking good Lareth. Again can't wait to see the background. And welcome aboard! You too Mordulin!

Wizard stats done, just have to do my background if that is okay with you Lazaro.

Looks good Brazimal.

Bouncing around some ideas right now should have a character up early on tomorrow

Okay, background up and made a few minor changes to the character based on his background. Let me know if there are any problems or if you need more.

Updating (assuming Laz ok's everything):

Kronag (Pat) - Melee striker (rogue)
(Amelia) - Leader (shaman)
(Tieren) - ?
Corrin Halfmoon (Davi) - Ranged striker (sorcerer)
Brazimal (Mordulin) - Controller (wizard)
Larith (Bacchreus) - Defender (fighter)

Did I get everything? Looks like a well-balanced party, whatever Tieren decides.

Well, I seem to be finished.

Brazimal, Crorrin your background and characters look good. Everything's looking good

Discussion Thread... GO!

Ok I'm all done, I've got a human beastmaster ranger named Adrana. I'll have the profile up soon.

3 strikers, 2 of them melee. This will be interesting!

Discussion thread, HO!

I was going to run her as an artful dodger, kind of a fencing type rogue since it is easily possible to have very different builds but I have wanted to try BM for a while now

Whoot, my creepy shaman is profiled up.

Hi, is there a position open for this campaign?

Right now I'm full Saori, but I'd be glad to have you as an alternate.
