Hate is a pretty harsh word...
Even I wouldn't use that, and I prefer the older work.

Cheers! :D

The Exchange

I hate the hate. "Hating" is like hating your life. To feel hate, you must hate your situation. Of course, I would hate being eaten by a Great White Shark. No argument there.

Oh dear ...

"Fear leads to Anger"

Spoiler:
Gah! I did not like this movie.

Anger leads to Hatred"
Spoiler:
Why am I quoting it?

Hatred leads to ... Star Wars Saga Edition
Spoiler:
Wait. That can't be right.

I did prefer the Beta art personally. But I'm expecting it will be a give and take with it. I don't like the racial depictions as much but I'm sure I'll like something else more.

Heh, heh. There's nothing like art to bring out the hate. I still say the new artwork is better.

Agreed. For me the most important thing with the art is that it is consistant throughout the book. And as an aside as long as the rules are cool I could care less if the art makes me want to sing and dance.

Yes! HATE, hate, Hate, hAtE!

Wait, what are we hating again?

Eastasia. We have always been at war with Eastasia.

"In other news, a massive attack of the Oceania troops against an Eurasia stron...er, Eastasia stronghold..."

I really hope I'm not the only one who got that reference. Orwell should be required reading.

Nah. It was just passe. I mean, it is like sooo 1984.

You named her...You named the unnamed human...Are you crazy? She is the unnamed human for a reason! You don't go around naming the unnamed! that is Heretical!

Though...

Zoe is a pretty good name...

I have to agree, Zoe is a good name.

Also Z is the 26th letter, and Thirteen is half-human...

Wasn't sure about Thirteen, but the name has gained acceptance.

Zoe is a really good one. We'll call that one a keeper.

@KayYoss - Just curious, do you wait for me to point out that the racial exemplars are as of yet unnamed, or do you have them all named already? :-)

In either case - the unnamed gnome has an interesting coloration, which is a bit different from previous art portrayals of gnomes in Pathfinder. I wonder if this is a new generalization, a regional effect, or will there be variation by gnome?

Inquiring minds want to know.

If pink is the color of a normal gnome, then blue must be the color of a smurf-neblin... er, I mean "svirfneblin."

Of course. Because she totally looks like her.

And it fits: Olivia Wilde is actually blond.

Zoe's already the iconic warrior woman, and there is some resemblance I think.

A little of both!

I don't have any names for the rest, though.

They'll likely draw their gnome flavour from Golarion, where they have skin, hair and eyes of varying, often vibrant colours.

I recalled the Golarion gnome description concerning vibrant pigmentation, but was wondering how widespread it is. Are our unnamed gnome's hair, eye, and skin colors unique, or they representative of a group of bright pink skinned gnomes?

Hold on a second....

KaeYoss wrote:

Sounds like this Golarion place has gnomes on tap. I wonder if they pour like Guinness? :-)

This is what happens to your brain at the end of the work week...

It's the whole race. They're all exiled fey, or descendants of exiled fey. Some of those vivid colours are in line what other races think as normal (like a strong chestnut brown like leaves in autumn), but the gnome colours aren't supposed to be different, they're supposed to be vivid and in all the colours nature knows.

Any and all attempts to draw Firefly/Serenity and Pathfinder together are bright 'n shiny in my book. Zoe it is!

I just want to go on the record for this... I HATE the new artwork. I really liked what was there in the Pathfinder Beta softcover, and I'm so disappointed that they changed it. Of course I'll still buy it, I love the new Pathfinder and hate what WotC has done to my favorite hobby. But I'm really not liking the new artwork I've seen thus far in the new hardcover coming out. I may be outvoted, but I loved the racial lineup we had before in the softcover. HATE this one... put me down for an "Ewwww....!"

Respectfully disagree.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

So can we call the gnome Kaylee?

I think we shall call her kaylee here anyhow. The half orc might be named Jayne. Would have to see his hat to tell

No. Our first iconic dead character is Book.

Spoiler:
Remember, Shepherd Derrial Book was killed along with his colony by the Operative. Hoban "Wash" Washburne's death sticks out more, because it was so shocking and unexpected.

So, our current lineup:

Dwarf: ?
Halfling: ?
Elf: ?
Human: Zoe
Gnome: Kaylee
Half-Orc: ?
Half-Elf: Thirteen

Hmmm....are we starting to see a trend here? Maybe we should name some of the men so they're not left out. See? This is why we needed both male and female representatives of each race.

Oh course we haven't named the male characters yet. I haven't pointed out we have an unnamed dwarf, unnamed halfling, unnamed elf, and unnamed half-orc yet.

[[Looks at what he just typed]]

Sigh. Let the naming begin.

On a side note, I agree, a representative of each gender for each race would be nice. Maybe in a future book.

Touche' We'll make the first male half elf Wash. That way Zoe can look like she'd break him.

Spoiler:
Lawrence Fishburn is a VERY lucky man.

Wait, so now we're naming potential artwork in an unnamed, unannounced future suppliment?

Awesome! We need to get James in here to approve it and start working on it, pronto!
