(Of course, it's also because they're the same character. Since TV Buffy is a more experienced version of the movie Buffy, she is logically the better slayer. Duh.)
TV Buffy. She killed more Vampires over the years than Movie Buffy did.
Both were good. Both were completely different though. Comparing them is like comparing apples and cookies.

Always nice when you get those little saving graces. When I saw "Your Highness" the trailers before the movie started were pretty lame. Then a trailer for the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie came up and I said: "Look, it's 'Pirates of the Caribbean 4: Johnny Depp Needs a New Mansion.'"

I went to see the first Mortal Kombat movie in theatres with a buddy of mine. At the scene where Scorpion pulls off his mask and breathes fire at Johnny Cage, my friend blurted out "Toasty" in the same voice you would hear from the game. The entire theater bursted out laughing.

Yes, the series had more time to develop and grow.
No, Swanson's not a hack - I think a lot of people want to blame her for the movie being a stinker, when in reality it's more likely that the producers reinterpreted the script in a way designed to maximize profit by capitalizing on the hot teen trends of the then-current day (Luke Perry, anyone?). Plus, despite the early '90s crimes against color and fashion that run rampant throughout the film, it did have a pretty awesome soundtrack.
It's interesting to me that the film seems dated even by the standards of the mid-to-late 1990s, but you can still watch the series and sorta kinda feel like it might be taking place in the present year (minus the absence of ubiquitous smartphone technology, perhaps).
What I'd really love to read, if I could find a copy, is the three-part comic "The Origin" that reinterpreted the film with character likenesses and story continuity from the TV series.
Anyway, yeah. Love the Buffyverse. Love the RPG, too - it's one of the simplest games to play and run that I've ever experienced, with an awesome system for spellcasters that lets you create your own magic from the ground up (which reminds me, I still need to make about 20 new spells for my teenage warlock that I play once a month...).
Power Word Unzip: The Comic has been reprinted in the first of the Omnibus Collections, that should not be so hard to find (it isn't, you can gat it new and cheap on Amazon.com). The Omnibus Collections for Buffy are overall pretty good.

The Buffy movie had a massively, supremely, indescribably annoying red-headed male vampire. He looked just like a similarly annoying artist in my country. This major offense against nature and good taste died in the movie.
It was a great movie...

Oh heck, yeah.
I pretty much hated the seventh season, but it was hilarious when Buffy was complaining to Faith about how much her life sucked and blah-blah 'they don't understand how hard it is' and Faith quipped back, 'Yeah, it really sucks how we're hot chicks with super-powers.'
Any Slayer who *likes* being a Slayer, even if it's Kennedy, is better than one who whines all the time about it.

She got over that years ago! (And did care, so much that she tried to kill herself out of guilt and self-loathing!)
And Buffy was still threatening to kill everyone on earth (season five), or anyone who got between her and what she wanted (season six), or anyone who threatened her mad killer boyfriend-du-jour (season seven), years after Faith's bout of homicidal mania!
It's not like show set the bar low, or anything, between all the people that Angel, Spike and Anya killed, and the occasionally oopsy from Xander and Willow that resulted in barbecued humans, or 'funny' gay caricature whats-his-name from season seven stabbing his best (and only) friend to death.
Faith's pretty much a paragon of virtue, if we're grading on a curve. :)
I think Jenny Calender, Cordelia, Tara and Riley are the only characters to make it into the credits that didn't kill someone, intentionally or accidentally.

When did Xander kill anyone?
Xander had so many of the best lines in the whole series and Cordeliea was hot enough to get me to start watching the spin off as well, though I think Spike was my favorite overall character in the series.
When did Xander kill anyone?He's responsible for all the people burning up in the song-and-dance episode. (He's the reason I said 'accidentally' in the original statement.)
In my head, he was totally covering for Dawn, and it's all her fault. :)
