Art Gallery?

General Discussion (Prerelease)

Just wondering if you guys at Paizo are planning on adding a gallery link now that Pathfinder RPG is going live? I've always really liked the way Wizards has a gallery on their site that has all the art from each of the books. It makes it much easier on me as a GM when I want to show the players what someone looks like when they encounter them.

<pulls out sheet of paper>
A tall elf in tan armor, with a bow and a long sword is waiting in the clearing. She has long blonde hair, and a scar on her cheek.
<turns paper so players can see picture, then ignores catcalls>

And I love the artwork that you've used in the beta. Not so much the 'racial profile' art (which was bashed in a separate thread), but the artwork for each of the class archetypes is wonderful, and the artwork throughout the book also. I love the mixture of Animeish & Western themes. Just enough anime to give it a sleek look, but not so much that it looks cartoony. As goldilocks said, juuuussssttt right.

So... I'm hoping you'll put that great art up in a gallery so those of us who are switching our 3.5 games to pathfinder can use it in our games.

They haven't said that it's NOT happening, but have said that it is unlikly I think..

That said, The wiki has a search able list of most of the art availible for public use, most of this is from The Blog which can also be split up by subject

Thanks!

I'm new here, and had no idea the wiki existed.

Daigleiciousness?

Thanks for the welcome everyone. :)

I'll join in on the welcome, and also on the incessant demands for an art gallery. One with all the PF art in it. I'd really love that.

And wizards does that. Come on, wizards!

Hi mdt! Have some cookies! *offers refreshing warm homemade cookies to the newcomer*

Virtual cookies have no calories. Just think about the warm scent of butter, the heady aroma of brown sugar, the taste of barely cooled and mostly melted chocolate chips mixed with the luxurious taste and scent of vanilla. :P

SOOOOOOO not fair. Now I gotta go find a bakery with fresh baked bread or cookies...

An art gallery would be cool. Alas, Paizo has simply never had the time or the resources to create an art gallery. Perhaps some day...

*GRIN*

That means you're doing something right.

Or something horribly horribly wrong.

Let's go with that former one, yeah, that's the ticket, the former one. :)

On the 8th day, god created interns. Interns went forth and did the things that no one had the time to do.

Interns: the solution to most problems where zombie labor is not an option due to a lack of bodies.

It's true. We have 2 interns here already. They have been factored into the equation that resulted in "not enough time or resources to create an art gallery," alas.

Speaking of art, can someone tell me where I can find the images from this You Tube video? Or did this guy just scan images from source books? I tried the wiki, but found barely anything.

Among others, I really like the image at 50 seconds.

Most of those images appear to be extracted from the PDFs.

I believe the image at 50 seconds is from GameMastery Module J1: Entombed with the Pharaohs (OGL)

As for other sources of the art, a number of the pieces from Pathfinder pop up on deviantArt.

Sounds like they need...motivation.

That's what I've been saying!

So what's better motivation? Cake or Pie?

Oooooh no. I'm not falling for that again. Besides, I meant NEGATIVE reinforcement.

The Cake is a lie.

Sorry, but it has to be said. I do what I must because I can.

Cookies. ^_^

Beatings, People. Beatings and the threat of more beatings. And an unknown trigger for beatings at unknown intervals.

I believe Governor Moff Tarkin said it best. "Fear will keep the Interns in line."

Scarab Sages

Wait, not enough time or resources? 2 interns should provide plenty of time or resources....that's 48 man-hours per day...no rest for the weary...(sorry Hank)

see, thats the problem with a company like paizo.really, who ever heard of letting interns sleep. just fuel them up on caffine and sugar and let em run. and if that doesn't work just crack the whip

Yeah, but we all know you're just trying to satisfy your intern-beating fetish ;)

Sure, you label it as a fetish. But if I were placed in charge of the interns and this art gallery got put up due to more productive management...ah...techniques, then you would label it something more complimentary. You need people like me, you just want to hide it from yourself with labels.

Actually, we're just saying that your fetish is your primary motivation, the art gallery coming next. That's all. Nothing wrong with your motivations, just pointing out priorities, that's all;)

Sure, the art gallery is not my primary motivation, it is the beauty of order and high productivity...of proper relations between staff, customers, and ser--interns. The art gallery is just one flower of many in the garden of intern discipline. But even the weeding, fertilizing, training, and pruning has a certain beauty to it. Label it what you will, I just invite you to a higher plane of insight and reflection.

Spoiler:

(Man, if I keep this schtick up, I'm going to need to come up with a whole other avatar for this.)
