Most topics about the Arcane bond ability (with object)were created during Alpha. At that time there was confusion about the 1/4 creation cost of the item and the enchanting part (could you enchant a ring before 12th level).
The design leader explicitly stated that you couldn't enchant the bonded item if the required feat required a higher level than your current.
In the beta version, possible loopholes with creating bonded items for 1/4 cost and then selling them have been removed. (they simply cannot be sold now).
But it's still unclear whether you need to be of a certain level to be able to enchant your ring or staff (or amulet even, but that's not really a problem since wondrous item is a 3rd lvl feat).
I am missing a line like
"A wizard can enchant his bonded object as if he had the required feats as long as the wizard meets the level restriction of the feat" or something.
Does this mean you really can simply enchant your bonded item regardless of level? And was it really necessary to remove the 1/2 cost bonus? I kinda liked that ;-)

little bump...
on a side note... is Pathfinder RPG any popular at all? These forums are almost dead compared to other D&D forums. Especially now that the design forums are closed.
I suppose it is possible that it's not popular, but I think the real reason is, we've gotten all, or at least most, of our questions out of the way. Right now it's just the occasional "Hey, what about this" type questions as we await the final version of the game.
I mean, no point debating the playtest rules as, we don't know what was added or removed and at this stage in the game too late to make any more of a difference than it did earlier.
Basically, we're in a holding pattern till release, then I'm sure we'll be b!!#%ing back and forth about this or that. :P

Oh, I think you'll find the Pathfinder RPG is VERY popular. Look at how many people downloaded the beta. In fact, my experience is that the expectation and excitement for this is very high.
I think we are in the "beta play test is done and final book about to go to printer" calm before the storm. Soon, when previews of the book start hitting and the time gets closer to when the new core rules are released around Gen Con, you will see just how popular this monster is!

The text merely says that "A wizard can enchant his bonded object as if he had the required feats." This means that you would still need to possess any required spells, caster level, or other requirements. You merely do not need the required Item Creation feat (Forge Ring, Craft Wand, etc.) The other crafting details can be found in the Magic Items section of the Pathfinder Beta and the Magic Item web enhancement, available from your Downloads section or here.
If your bonded item was a Wand that you wanted to enchant with Magic Missile, you need to have the Magic Missile spell, pay the 375 GP (half of the base 750 GP cost) and spend the required time. If you want to enchant your Ring with Protection +2, you need to be Caster Level 6 (at least three times the bonus you put into the Ring), and have access to the Shield of Faith spell for each day of crafting.
And of course the Pathfinder Beta is popular. I'M an available god to worship.
Geez.

It's funny you should mention that.
Say, Apsy, old chap, you don't have a spare 10 minutes and a Raise Deity spell on you? Not that I'm dead, mind you, it's for a... friend. She's got the worst gig now that she's undead.

Wait a second. God of Knowledge? Try "God of magic" on for size. Mind been wandering again? I know how that is.
Let Irori, the actual god of knowledge (as well as history and self-perfection) give you some pointers about meditation and how it can centre your mind. He's really good at the stuff.

While that bald-headed old man likes to think he is the sole god of Knowledge, his claims to perfection are limited to the understanding of his own body.
I have mastered all forms of magic, know the planes in and out, and things that would make his butterfly-loving head explode at the sheer thought.
How many Knowledge skills do his monks have as class? One?
The wizards that follow my path have Knowledge (All).
I do not blame those at Paizo for the mistake in mislabeling him in their Gods and Magic. They are merely mortals.
