I just received my copy of Legacy of Fire Part One, its great and I'd like to run it on the boards.
If anyone is interested please post here over the next couple of days.
The game will be 4-6 players maximum, Pathfinder Beta and 20 point buy system or dice roll for stats.
I believe in the honour system as well, especially Invisible Castle hates my characters.
Rimrock and Tio let me know if you are still keen, and just so everyone knows, like Malvoisin I intend to roll randomly for players if there is a lot of people up for this. Probably Sunday evening at the latest the way the others have filled up in the last couple of weeks.
Cheers

I'm interested but don't have the Legacy of Fire player's guide yet any chance you could go over what backgrounds are available for it I am assuming like Curse of the crimson throne and second darkness it has backgrounds for why the characters are involved?
Have ordered it via leisure games since I'm really lousy at figuring out conversion rates for ordering from the UK...

hopeless there are six campaign traits that have lengthy info on then. Essentially they revolve around;
1) seeking freedom from slavery2) taking the first steps as a memmber of the Pathfinders
3) reclaiming your roots in a village
4) acting as a missionary
5) being a gnoll killer
6) finding a woman called Haleen
We can go into more detail when the players are decided.

Just a couple of questions.
How are you determining starting Hit Points?
How about starting funds?
Number of Traits?
If we roll dice, which method?
which experience point progression do you intend to use? Thanks in advance
Steve
Hit points will be maximum plus standard modifiers (Con, favoured class, Toughness) plus flat bonus for every PC of 6pts.
Starting wealth to be rolled for by the player.
Two traits, one campaign trait which is the most important because it ties you to the Adventure Path and the other a Basic Trait. The Pathfinder Companion for Legacy several Basic Traits outlined under Region, Race and Religion. There are more Basic traits which could be adapted from the free web supplement that came out recently.
If you want to roll dice then roll 4d6, drop the lowest, do that seven times and drop the lowest total. Then assign as you wish. Of course if you want to keep a low roll or two that's enturely up to you. How does that sound Scranford?
Experience will be fast, because pbps tend to be slow at best, I find.
There's plenty for a good fighter to get their teeth into in this AP.
Cheers

Would love to join in, haven't ever played a PBP game am more of a traditional face to face player/DM.
Don't know diddly about the Legacy of Fire stuff so that helps I have my own party of 6 going through Burnt Offerings at moment so it will give me a chance to be on the plqaying side
Playing in a pbp is a good way of getting in some extra game time. For me the key is keeping the enthusiasm up, checking the game thread regularly, joining in the chats on the discussion thread, and posting frequently (daily is good).
As for the rest, its pretty straightforward.
You'll pick it up fast.
Good luck

I would be interested also in playing a character .
For information , the players guide is downloadable for free at paizo
robin could you provide a link?
I thought that the guide was only freely available to people that subscribed at some stage. Trying to get us to re-subscribe.
The reason is that I looked for it for hopeless but couldn't find the link.
BTW the more the merrier, so far we have eight people with their hats in the ring.
1) hopeless
2) scranford
3) therealthom
4) Rimrock
5) Greyworker
6) michael fox 630
7) robin
8) Jared Ouimette
Cheers

I was thinking of a half-orc bard...
Sounds good and thanks for the interest.
I still watch your game, thought Kelne had had it recently.

Thank you for the invite FW.
I was worried about the whole party there for a bit. I gave an extra level to the half-orc, but he rolled poorly and Tessirda rolled well.

Though not really part of this conversation I'd thought I'd try to help out. Check out your downloads page for the players guide. I got mine there.
Apparently it was available to people who said yes to getting the newsletters or email promotions things. So just go to "my downloads" and check through your list. Its about 7 meg I think.

Actually, if you're still taking people for the random roll, I'd like to get in on your game as well. I'm in zoomakulas LoF game already but would really like to play a Wizard in one of these PbP. So if your ok with me being in another version of the game then count me in.
However, I also understand if you'd rather not include me in the tally for whatever reason.

When you're ready I'd like more detail regarding Haleen and the fifth one depending on what its actually about.
And as for traits do you mind if I choose one from the Pathfinder Companion: Elves of Golarion as there's a specific one called Starchild that grants a +4 trait bonus to survival checks to avoid getting lost that meshes in with Nils' background history?

OK I have just done the roll off for who is in and the d20 has spoken.
1) hopeless - 10
2) scranford - 15
3) therealthom - 15
4) Rimrock - 11
5) Greyworker - 14
6) micheal fox 630 - 18
7) robin - 5
8) Jared Ouimette - 4
9) Wrath - 8
10 Brett1815 - 20
I reckon six should be about enough for a balanced party.
So the players who are in are;
scranford, therealthom, Rimrock, Greyworker, micheal fox 630 and Brett1815.
The possible reserves are in order hopeless, Wrath, robin and Jared Ouimette.
Thanks everyone for the interest, and for you reserves I should say that most games have one or two drop out early on so keep an eye out for your chance.
You Lucky Six I'll put a discussion thread up after I have given my son his bath! Then we can start on characters.
Cheers

Thanks for being so gracious about it, Wrath.
The Discussion thread has gone live here.
Feel free to pop in and start the dice rolling.

All the Best
I was referring to the infamous Beast of Gevaudan, a man-eating wolf from early 18th century France. There should be a wikipedia entry on him.
