PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE sell out soon. The temptation is staggering.
Erik Mona. James Jacob. Lisa Stevens. Jason Buhlman. Wolfgang Baur. Sean K Reynolds. Clark Peterson. Hank Woon (I have some of his books/mags I want signed).
MONTE COOK.
Major superstars in the rpg community. Argh! For the first time, I understand what a junkie must feel.
Let's see: attend Strategicon/GAMEX and Comic Con? Or Paizocon? Argh...!

fray wrote:So Joel... you going?Mulling over it, Matt. I've got the spouse's blessing but that's a busy (and costly) time: Strategicon/Gamex during Memorial Day Weekend (May) and Comic Con in July.
Hmmm. I could just commute to and fro to Gamex. That'd keep the cost down....
What about you, Matt?
Yes, I"m going.
You should totally commute to Gamex... it's not worth the hotel cost if you are close enough to drive. I used to drive from Huntington Beach every night during the cons. Traffic is light at 3am... :D

I'm bringing my Ptolus book for Monte to sign... :)
I'm bringing Ptolus, too, so I can get a Sue signature to go with the Monte one. Plus, I'm bringing Ghostwalk, which already has SKR's signature, so I wanna match up Monte's to it.
It'll be interesting share space with folk I've only shared monitor space with. *laughs*

Shhhh, it's late over here, I'm sick with pneumonia and it's still too expensive. ;-)
(checked both Seattle and Vancouver, so I was looking at the right coast!)

People should be allowed (required?) to include at least one of their Paizo messageboard names on their conference badges.
Admittedly, that would be somewhat redundant for someone like me, but it might be nice for the many others who are a bit more artistic with their nom de net.

We did that last year, so I see every reason to continue the practice. We wanted to put the avatar images on them too, but alas, copyright issues. I did, however, put a Werecabbage on each of the badges of the attending Werecabbages (Liz, Ed, and Scott, I believe).
For this year, I would also like to add a special icon or symbol on the badges of those "founding members" who attended the 1st PaizoCon, though.

That's awesome, as I'd hate to confuse people with...my..usern...okay, fine, I'm not the one that this feature is aimed at. :D

Since Paizo is officially sponsoring this time, maybe it would be possible to get the avatars that Paizo does own for badges? (Obviously, this doesn't help if the avatar is a D&D mini or from the Dragon&Dungeon era.)

Badges will have the PAIZOCON logo, your real first and last name (the name on your driver's license or government I.D.) and your messageboard name. There isn't really room for other stuff without it getting cluttered.
That said, nothing is laid in stone. (Although the board images won't be on the badges. We just can't do it.)

We are not going to Dragon Con this year. There is a movement within the company that would like to see us there in 2010, but this year it is not in the cards.
hmmm.. wonder if it has anything to do with all the scantly clad women that you will see there..;-)
Or was it the Wookie?
Fair warning... great convention... was there in 2002...but, Gaming is not even close to a high priority there..

My greatest memory of the first and only time I went to Dragon Con (1998 or so) was Fat Boba Fett.
Or, if you prefer, Boba Fat.
Oh I have some great Memories from the Con... But if I mentioned them here.. and my wife *Who was not my wife at the time* saw this post... She may not talk to me for awhile.. ;-)

Kind of reminds me when I had a friend being a whiney little puck and starting trying to get all lawyer-like on 'what exactly line of sight means'...
As the DM...I simply stood up, turned, dropped trow...
I then corrected things...and asked "Who is about to lose their lunch?"
everyone raised their hands...
"Now you know precisely who would be impacted by line of sight"....
