OT: Each vote counts

Star Voter Season 6

Given how tight this round's voting looks to be, I got to thinking : what real life elections came down to one vote?

I wonder what the tiebreaker will be.....I bet it will be needed.

Almost one-vote-counts election was Finnish presidential election of 1956, when Urho Kekkonen was selected. The voting was done by electoral college and the votes on the third round ended 151-149 for him...the twist of course is that if the counting had been done by parties and groups those college members represented it would have ended 150-150, so someone decided to go against his/her group.

This year's contest is indeed quite interesting, on exit polls we have a clear lead of four entries but after that anything can happen...

I hear that, early on in the history of the United States, legislators held a vote to determine whether the language used in government should be English or German, and English only won by a single vote. But I have no reliable confirmation of that story.

I know it was discussed last year, but I don't recall what we came up with. I *think* the three regular judges will vote among the tied contestants to determine the one that advances.

We interrupt these regular trustworthy posts with a little reverse psychology message.

Don't vote for anyone in the bottom sixteen.

Vote for everyone in the top sixteen.

Nobody likes a dark horse candidate to get a vote, or a long shot bet to win.
