![]() Randy, nice work, I was so disapointed when I relized you couldn't illustrate Hec's lair but isn't it a great complement that two of your peers chose it!

![]() Ninjaiguana wrote: I have to say that I find this villain to be one of the most impressive entries this round. And that's because he's such a simple concept. With lichs galore, satyrs, half-fiendish otyughs and the like all over the place, you managed to make me appreciate and enjoy a human wizard. Well done, sir! I read back through the comments and I think Ninjaiguana makes a really significant point here and it is one of the reasons I like this character so much. He is not a level 4 satyr/level 12 lich; he is just a human wizard, and he is awesome. No gimmicks necessary, Mr. Dorman took the most ordinary concept in this round and made it one ,if not the most interesting. ![]()
![]() Awesome, I'm so glad you were given the opportunity to tighten up this character as he was one of my favorites in Round 2 and is certainly my favorite of Round 3. I'm not a stat block expert but the fact that the game designer found few flaws and believes the character is about ready to go right out of the box is good enough for me. This certainly gets my vote and I so look forward to exploring his lair. The response seems to be great so far and your doubters from round 2 seem to be coming around in droves....WELL DONE. ![]()
![]() Here is a thought. There has naturally been a lot of debate on what makes a successful entry; I have finaly found my answer. When I read the reviews there are some characters that didn't initially grade that high with the judges but are receiving a lot of comments regarding future use in home games. To me if a character finds its way into a bunch of home games then it must be successful. It would be interested to know 6 months from now how many of the characters are actually utilized by readers but of course there is really no way of knowing. ![]()
![]() Seems like people are really divided on the plot hooks for this character. I like them myself. It appears that this character is going to make his way into some home games based on this submission. There has been a lot of discussion regarding what defines a quality submission; when I think about it isn't the fact that the character is going to be utilized by some readers quite telling in itself? I can't think of any better indicator. Based on that this character grades high. ![]()
![]() Nice...I've been thinking about a gag villain but I haven't fleshed him all out yet. I'm thinking about creating a high level Cleric of Love...basically Ron Jeremy. His stat block will be interesting because he wll probably have to have split stats like endurance 14/18...14 upper body, 18 lower body. Its silly really but it gave me a laugh. ![]()
![]() I believe the Rabbit has a point about character ideas that would only need minor modifications. One of my favorite's, Dorman's Hecatecaus falls into this category for me. While some of the terminoligy made him seem a bit clownish I can picture this villain mocking me again and again as he defeats me but keeps me alive to humiliate me another day. Still hoping that one gets reviewed actually. ![]()
![]() Take another look at this one as it is one of the best I've seen. This villain might be a social misfit, however, in the hands of a crafty DM he could easily be the type of villain that drives players insane. I know my character would want to have the last laugh. Straight up villains with no character are a dime a dozen, this one is different. I also really like the plot regarding stiffing the guild, seems like this villain would like to think he is above reproach. The fact that he does not always kill his enimies sets him up as a villian who can be encountered again and again...how annoying would that be? Clark...grade it out man...its better than most.
