That's from the paragraph under the RPG Superstar 2009 Schedule (emphasis mine). So Round Three is about more than just stat blocks after all!

New rules... Aelfric Dream-Slayer... Think of the possibilities. Vote Aelfric!

I freely admit that the second half of this post is shameless self-promotion.

There is nothing wrong with self-promotion!

The rules explicitly say we are allowed to do so.

  • If the contestant posts in his or her entry thread during the voting period for any reason other to acknowledge feedback or to encourage people to vote for his or her submission, the contestant will be disqualified

So let me just reinterate.

Apparently, the best way to make sure nobody knows your plan is to announce it in a press release and e-mail it directly to 100,000 people two months in advance.

I have to admit this it is amazingly effective. Perhapse the CIA should consider it.

You know this raises a good question: Is there some sort of contest going on at Paizo?

I mean, I've seen all these posts going up about wondrous items and villains and some kind of schedule for superstars and stuff, but I wasn't really sure what it was all about. I did a search of the boards, but couldn't find anything, either.

I found some random page with some names and links to other posts...I clicked on a couple "check boxes" and hit a "vote" button to see what would happen, but I didn't really know what I was doing.

It did get me to thinking that you guys would be the perfect publisher to start some sort of contest where aspiring writers could submit ideas for various aspects of RPGs and then have some industry bigwigs comment on them before letting the general public vote for their favorites to see who wins some kind of writing contract or something (maybe a T-shirt...I don't really know).

Maybe you could call it "RPG Talent Hunt" or something like that.

It's just an idea I had. Feel free to borrow it, if you want to.

[Sorry...I got carried away with my own little joke, here.]

Have you heard about this Pathfinder Adventure Path thing we're doing?

It sounds vaguely familiar. I seem to remember hearing those words from my wife. Something like, "...wah wah wah wah WAH wah Pathfinder wah wah wah bookshelves FULL of wah wah wah wah and all that money you could be wah wah wah..."

I tried to follow the link to see what all the hubbub was about but there were a LOT or words on that page. I mean, seriously...it's like you guys write books for a living or something. Sheesh!

[DISCLAIMER: I feel it necessary to point out that, in reality, my wife fully supports my addiction to Paizo products. Seeing as how the entirety of my RPG spending goes to Paizo, she doesn't feel the need to nag me too much about the money, either. I just wish she could learn to appreciate the hobby more, herself, so I could bring her over to the gaming table when my daughters are old enough to play. ;)]

I'll have everyone know that the beer Bricius is handing out is flat and tastes like forest dirt. Fine for a druid, but for those of you who have a more discerning taste, try some of Ssyth'ek's demon-infused sherry. It's good to the last hit die! :D

Bah! Beers, sherry... Boemundo will drink your soul and... ok, so just vote for him and get neat new rules on drinking people's souls FOR FREE!

Only at Boemundo!

Philip -- does Demono's sell the sherry? Maybe a free bottle with delivery?

Dalatai will let you drink whatever you want...as long as it's from a pint glass, not a "half-pint" glass....

Vote Dalatai, and join the Shontrick Family Business!

Well, the Beer Bricius is handing out would be Natural Light.

I don't know why, but when you say that, I keep thinking of the brownie from Willow...

"BEER! Ah-ha-ha-hah!"

Please, just call me Phil, and cuz I'm from PA, sadly no sherry with the order. Although my wife can prolly make you some.

With all due respect, "It comes in pints?"

Is it too late to submit a superstar item for 2007? Because I think you guys skipped that year, right?
