nd the biggest thing for me it saves me from the mmo feel i got from 4.0 my whole group plays a popular mmo we play D&D to get break from it and stretch our minds and creative muscle. 4.0 just didn't offer that for our group.

I ran a regular group about that size for a few years. Plus, I had a waiting list to get in. Now I'm down to a regular group of six and enjoying it immensely. The old games were fun, but game days dragged on forever!

Do you CoDM every session to keep things moving and not lose track of anyone or anything? Does one DM hold the whip and chair while the other reads box text? Kudos to you and you CoDM for keeping any semblance of order in the mob of players.
10 players is alot but when I was first introduced to the D&D game 2nd ed had just been introduced and when they asked me what I wanted to play I said" I wanna be presto the guy with the cool hat" I was the ONLY Human and the only mage in a group of 19, thats right folks, 19 other players. To tell you the year it was 89 and we had 14 male drow rangers in the group(no one ever said Ft. Bragg soldiers were original in their thinking)we had a barbarian,a bard,a mage(Me) and a paladin to accompany the army of rangers. We had an absolute blast. combat wasn't as bad as you might think by the time the fusillade of arrows from the drow hit the target, a fireball was just overkill.
I say enjoy pathfinder group of 10 and I wish you the best in all games, I know how much fun a really big group can be.

Welcome Cal, I feel your pain. Same story, 'cept my oldest is 55. Average 10 every Saturday, a third of the group are the teenage kids of some of my best players.

I'm reminded of when 3.0 came out and I had no one to play it with. I ended up running a game with my 4 nieces and nephews (7 to 13). We spent many a snowy afternoon playing as I taught myself the rules.
They loved the pictures, and learned some vocabulary along the way. The youngest niece played a wizard (quite well). It was a little strange watching this cute little girl fireballing hordes of bad guys, but they all loved it.
They're all older now, and I don't know how many of them still game or not, but I have fond memories. By the time I found some adults to play with, I at least had some idea how to play.
Also our Gnome bard thanks you he didn't want to be a monster.Heh heh heh. Welcome aboard Cal!

me and that bard were an awesome combo. This was 2nd ed remember so when we had to poison the fireknives(curse of the azure bonds) to save our buts cause we were badly out numbered, I used all my cantrips on the poison she had and removed all the color,flavor and smell. She did her barmaid routine and by the time the army of drizzt clones showed up along with the pally the thieves were all dead. Oops mustve been something they ate.
I did end up with all of the cool items though, you have NOOO idea how many freaking figurines of wondrous power I was asked to make. by the time it was all said and done they were terrified of me because I had polymorh and was NOT afraid to turn them into a wood elf if they ticked me off.Large groups can be alotta fun and I recommend them at least once. Then again large or small just enjoy the game.
