I'm personally extremely psyched by the new system and have something great for 22. I think I'll take a stab at 21 also.
Since we'll be coming up with our own titles for 22 and possibly 21, should we include the number in the .doc file? Like [PFS21-TITLE]_[YOURLASTNAME] just to make it easier for you to know which is for which?

I'm considering submitting also. I would probably stick to name and then have the title in bold and possibly use a slightly larger font like you're writing a term paper. Since he wants it in a microsoft word format you could even put the title as a header if you wanted to slip it in there subliminally. Like Hypnotoad...

The number is fine ahead of the untitled scenario.

I was either snowed in or home with a cold most of the week, so I took that as a sign to submit my first adventure proposal. #21 is in, and my fingers are crossed! :-)
I'm surprised how long 750 words took me to put together, but then again I don't have the MM or DMG memorized backwards and forwards. Still, it was harder than I thought!

Each scenario is a separate open call. So yes, you can submit ONCE for 21 and ONCE for 22
I'm gonna have to rush mine, I've had NO time all week and since I was one of the ones begging for a less restrictive open call it'd be stupid of me not to submit my idea.
I am kind of hoping that this experiment dies a quick death, let's return to the old format that at least gave me ideas.
OK, I had an idea for 22, but no time to develop and submitting rubbish is properly not the way to publication.

ugh this stinks. Family member in the hospital this week, there's no way I'm getting it all typed up tonight and surviving work tomorrow :( Good luck to everyone who entered. I'm hoping the experiment is at least successful enough. Who knows, maybe in future open calls we can get one of the old style and one of the new.

Sorry to hear that Coridan. Hope your family member is better soon. Family comes first.
(I'm available for a quick proofreading if you are trying to get one still in).

I've submitted one for each. I'm glad I had the free time to do this. Last time, I was too busy to attempt either.
I sort of submitted for 22, but realized that I left my name outof the doc title. Add that to a slow server and I probably missed it. (my apologies Josh)
I found the titleless more difficult than those in the past as I kept having too many ideas/creatures/plots/threads to keep it down. I had plans for both, but only time for one. It was funner to not be restricted, but it also took a lot more time than I expected. Still I think each attempt is getting a little easier (let's hope for Josh's sake that means better :).
Good luck to everyone O:)

There is a certain degree of anecdotal evidence that tighter restrictions lead to better writing and better stories. I know that personally, if I had been submitting this time around I would have chosen to prepare something for 21 before touching 22. I personally can not hope enough that tighter restrictions will return.

Submitted for #21 and #22 along with my prospective co-author. We'll see how that goes.
It's too bad they asked not to include faction missions. I thought I had some good ones.
I found that more information (the Obelisk and medusa) gave me more starting points to spin out threads of logic, but the result might just be that much more contrived.

I found that having a monster, location, and suggested title for #21 was very helpful (first time submission here). Having #22 be more or less completely open led to a bit of creative paralysis. Too many options... can't choose!
Good luck to everyone who submitted, and Coridan I hope everything is okay on the family front.

I thin the lack of instruction could lead to paralysis by analysis, but I am ok with that. SOmeone will have a good idea, and they'll get the adventure. Hopefully it will eb someone different every time. Or, you know,me every time. : }
But also, I think it's important for those details like key monsters, location and such to be hidden from players. Just the announcement of the open call risks ruining the fun for someplayers, so I think a balance of detailed calls and freestyle calls is best for the PFS.
I know I wouldn't want to know there was definitely going to be an assassin vine in an upcoming adventure. Without surprise, all they are is irritating.
Also, from the perspective of running the society, I bet it's better to not have whole parties at home choosing what they buy and who their favored enemies are based on the information in the open calls. How many ranger players will read a spoiler here, and know about the open call, and take plant as a favored enemy?
I am one of those guys who doesn't want to know until it happens in the game. So I dig the openness of these last open calls.

Anyone else losing sleep as January 9 approaches?
Although I have to say that regardless of what Josh thought about my submission for #21, this process has been a lot of fun. And when I introduced my parents and 10-year old niece to DnD over Christmas (you know, in case my submission was accepted and I called in a flurry of excitement, they'd have a clue what I was talking about), they had a blast running through the scenario I designed.
