The Unofficial Paizo Comic Strip!

I would like to polish my cartoon-drawing skills and I think a Paizo-Pathfinder/messageboards unofficial comic strip would be a great way to do it! (If the paizo overlords are OK with it, of course).

My idea is to invite you all to write small comic strips (3-4 frames) based on paizo messageboards community and/or Pathfinder stuff (again, only if the Paizo staff is OK with this) and send those to me so I can draw it up and post it in this thread.

Why send the strip to my email and not put it in the thread? for the finished strip not to be read twice...it loses all the fun. Spoiler tags just make it more tempting to look in ;). I'll try to do one or two every 15 days.

If anyone wants to send me his/her ideas, I'll be glad to draw it up! If no one sends anything then I may torture you with my lame humor! ;) And if by any chance several are submited, I'll have to pick the funniest (or easiest to draw ;) ) go go for it. If someone wants to jump in and draw the strips you are more than welcome.

Spoiler:
hint to N'wah!

Send your strip ideas here!

Uhhh, actually I'm pretty sure that Belkar is Chaotic EVIL. ;)

I digress however. Resume the cartoon discussion.

Here's the link to an email to Hugo, to make it easier for everyone.

I've received a few emails with strip ideas already, I hope I can make a couple on the weekend. I'll draw one of my own first, I hope you don't mind guys.

Also I'll post some hints on how to "submit" the strip ideas. I'm not a professional on this strip-drawing "business" but I think I can give a few leads; at least to make the drawings easier.

Thanks for jumping in into this project!

Yay! I finished the first strip sketching-inking now I proceed with the coloring and text assembly. I hope it'd be ready tomorrow night.

Just found the thread. The funny thing is, I've had several comic ideas floating around in my head that were Paizo related. I'll flip through it and see what suggestions people have, and I'll riff with Ben on some other stuff. He's a comic genius. My comedy reads like paragraphs of dry text sprinkled with in-jokes, which is what it is.

Perhaps a parody of the "Bath House" episode of EVERY romantic comedy anime ever. I could see Valeros and Lem being peeping Toms. :P

A number of ideas spring to mind but Seoni constantly complaining about how men don't take her seriously and only see her as a sex object seems to leap to the fore immediately.

a friend always makes jokes about Merisiel... whenever someone tries to have some kind of relation ship with her, she just pring crying "but you are going to die! and i will be alone again!!!"

yes he does this to make me angry about her harsh life

I was tempted to make her the feminist-in-residence of the group. :)

Yeah! Please do! Your comics are cool and your cartoons are already awesome, its a win-win!

Send them! I'd love to draw some Seoni jokes!

Benchak bought me bristol and pens. I'm back in biz. There's some stuff I've gotta work on, but a set of comic illustrations are in the queue.

Thank the Benchak. He is the master. :)

The first unofficial paizonian strip EVER!!!

Arrow-Catching Contest

Its my first comic strip...so, be kind :s

Thanks to all who have participated so far and I hope many more jump into the comic strip train!!!

Excellent work Hugo. If I can muster the brain space I'd be happy to contribute an idea or two for you to work on.

OMG! I LOVE the dead goblins! This is awesome, Awesome work, as per usual Hugo! Dude! Enga the Ratcatcher from PF #4 and the pig from # 9 should totally like... go around... and um... fight crime. :P

Okay, so the ideas aren't there tonight, but awesome work! Keep em coming!

And hey, shoot me an e-mail about... stuff.

Secret stuff. ^_~

Liberty's Edge

That was very good!

I was hoping for a

Spoiler:
goblin running around in the last panel with an arrow stuck in his buttcheek, but the dead one with the arrow in his buttcheek will have to do ;)

Keep up with this fun idea. I'll try to think of some gags.

Oh, and I love KC's expression in the last panel.

Scarab Sages

Awesome, Hugo!

Just a random thought on the punchline:

How would the comic flow if the last two panels were swapped round? You might need to replace the Goblin with the Kobold and remove the "!!" in the (now) last panel, though...

Cheers! :D

Scarab Sages

Hey Hugo, can you do a strip on my secret origin?

Liberty's Edge

Nice work Hugo!

I like it. And well done Set (and KC?) for helping with the idea.

Kudos. That's heap funny. :D

Liberty's Edge

If that first strip is any indicator, you need to set-up your own site (a la Order of the Stick) and start selling books and merchandise.

This is really that good.

Nah, I had nothing to do with this. That's why I was so surprised that I didn't get humiliated in some way.

Awesome comic, Hugo.

Liberty's Edge

That is fantastic Hugo! I had a smile on my face the whole time, great work. The dead goblins were so good.

jajaja no don't move them

i love the fact that the goblin needs to be asked to realice he did win... all the poor goblins were actually serious about "arrow catching"

swap them and it will look like he just took advantage... that will kill half the fun

and i love the strip :D

I left a comment on your Deviantart page. Spot on!

Thanks people for the response!!!! I have already a few more great strip ideas from some of the Posters!!!!

I'll make sure I make one more this week!

This is th first comic strip I'va ever done, so I don't have any knowledge on proper frame working or text placing, etc. I'll try to find a book on comic-strip basics so I can do a better work. If somebody knows of any books or hints on comic-strip making I'd appreciate the help.

Cheers!

Y'know, I might take this one. I like the idea of a kobold and a pig as hard-boiled film noir detectives. Or were you thinking more along the lines of superhero duo?
