If anyone wants to be an alternate, please post. Playing 3.5 PbP really helped me get a handle on the rules, and I'm hoping this will do the same for 4E.
The adventure will be 'Last Breaths of Ashenport' and you'll need to create 8th level characters. Any material from PHB is allowed, as well as Forgotten Realms Players Guide (not spellscarred), as well as Warforged, Artificer, Barbarian, and Drow articles from Dragon.
Some sort of warlock please, unless anyone else has a burning desire to be one. I'm running a live game warlock and it would be huge fun to find out how they play at higher levels.

So here's our barbarian friend. I used the DMG(pg. 143) to find starting items/gold. Should have the background done later.

Hi there. Seen you and your posts around on the boards these many months, but it will be the first time I've had the pleasure of gaming with you.
Your Passive Inisght and Perception should be 21 and 20 Lazaro. :D I'm sure you know, just noticed.
That and... I don't think a weapon can have two enchantments - i.e. your falchion can either be frost or it can be vicious, not both.
It hasn't bought lesser equipment, but otherwise is about ready.
Oh yeah, I have Adventurer's Vault as well. :D

Akahale finds it difficult to understand why anyone would think him a sinister or intimidating figure.
While It might not be too scared of him in a dark alley, Pat sure as hell would be!
I could say the same about your recently forged Warforged. This is going to be interesting (and fun).
It is ready mechanically. I know nothing about the adventure or setting, so it's hard to do more yet.
The setting is the 4E core points of light world as seen in the PHB and DMG. The adventure predicates that you all already know one another; don't worry, you're all going to be employed by someone to go to the adventure location.

Ragadolf - at 8th level according to the DMG you can have one each of a level 7, 8 and 9 magic item. You also get 2,600gp to spend on what you will.
So, Akahale (my guy) has a level 9 magic cloak, a level 8 rod of horribleness and a level 7 suit of funky armour. He spent a further 1000gp on a life-drinker dagger, leaving him 1,600gp to bribe innkeepers with and make other purchases as the fancy takes him.
I should imagine that our boy Akahale carries platinum pieces with that amount of dosh.
Most of it is back home at the temple of Bahamut. He just carries a small amount for necessary expenses (including donations to the worthy).

Good stuff. We're waiting on Hopeless at the moment. So far we have a controller, two strikers and a defender... so a leader is going to be hella valuable; an artificer, cleric or warlord may well be needed!
All right I'll work out a Warlord tonight. I got a wee bit of experience playing them. Maybe a dwarf warlord then.

Sure thing Rosey. Since Grafire's occupation is Captain of Arms and Akahale is an investigator, also both honor Bahamut. That is a pretty easy fit to work together. We could have been from the same village, clan or family.

Hi Ragadolf. Just taking a cursory glance at your guy and a couple of things stand out. You definitely have way more HP than that - by my calculations you should have 51. That makes you bloodied at 25. You also have 7 healing surges a day, each one giving you 12hp.
I've not looked at the skills and whatnot yet, but I'd suspect you're doing yourself out of a couple of pluses here and there (as you suspected).
